Though he is one of few Smilus inhabiting the gentle lands of the Walkers Narrow, Samuel sees himself as the greatest to dwell or grace the waters and creatures with his presence alone. Yet he is still thwarted from the throne because of the other subordinate males AND the lionesses of the pride! How dare they. Still, he tries as he must to do what is best for his fellow pride members while adjusting his outlook only slightly. Sky and Pepe are often trial and error, but somewhere - deep within his cold heart - Samuel believes that Sky and Pepe are a good addition to the future of their homelands, despite how they treat him and sometimes others. Astral is a competitor within Samuel's mind, but that only further proves Tevinter's assumption in how closely the two act as though brothers are around one another. Perhaps the old king is right. Maybe they really are a band of misfits just looking for a place to belong.
