Peredhel insists that her pridemates call her Peri, although lions in the Metropolis seldom do; she is known to be one of Haiku's daughters, regal and noble, deserving of respect. Peredhel had a strange childhood: she grew up in the comforts of the Citadel, but often slipped past adults' notice while they doted over her sister Aegnor's piebald coat. For a long time, Peredhel was jealous of her piebald sister; however, this slowly slipped when she saw how overwhelmed her sister was with attention from the pride. She is now a protector for her siblings, using the way she blends into the background to her own advantage. She provides stressed-out Citadel-dwellers with a resting place in her quarters. Of all her sisters, she is the closest with Elenya, who has a similarly strategic mind and sense of protectiveness towards her sisters.
