Lore: The moment Snow noticed a big jungle ahead of her she decided to check it out. It was beautiful. As she walked she heard something in the bushes. Suddenly a group of lionesses jumped out, surrounding her.
"What are you doing here huh!?" - the lioness was clearly aggressive - "We should kill you here and now!" - Snow noticed patches of black fur of a lioness that walked out. She was suprisingly young.
The lioness stopped for a moment before Snow and looked her straight in the eyes before attacking her. Just before she lost consciousness she heard a loud roar.
Snow woke up in a strange cave. It was blooming with plants. Vines were everywhere, beautiful flowers grew from the ceiling. There was even a small water pond surrounded with some grass. There were also some shelves with.. weird... Herbs? On them. She recognized only lavender before someone walked in. A beautiful lioness with... Double tail?
"Hello dear! My name is 🪙|Aureliano|🪙. I'm this pride herbalist."
Snow looked at her confused.
"Oh.. You never met someone like me? Let me explain - a herbalist is a lion that heals others when needed." -🪙
"Ooh!"
"Yeah. So... About your wounds... I covered them in some herb, but.. some of them will leave scars for sure. And... your eye." -🪙
Lioness took off a big leaf off her head uncovering a white eye.
"I'm sorry." -🪙
"Wait... I'm blind!?"
"Unfortunately... I will give you some time." -🪙
She put a new leaf - wrap on her head
"Your wounds there didn't recover fully yet" -🪙
As 🪙|Aureliano|🪙 was about to leave Snow stopped her.
"Hey! Uhm.. Can you please... Stay? I... Don't wanna be alone..."
🪙|Aureliano|🪙 turned her head towards Snow, seeing sadness in her eyes.
"Of course." -🪙
Lioness sat next to Snow. They spend some quality time together. Snow was the only injured lion for now, so 🪙|Aureliano|🪙 had a lot of time for her. Charlie, the pride's leader, agreed to this. There was enough lions to do other chores anyway, and keeping Snow company in these hard for her times was one of their responsibilities since the lions who attacked her were from their pride. They got a long lecture. Turns out those were some adols who wanted to "protect" their home.
After 2 months of recovering and learning how to live with one blind eye, Snow decided to move on. The hardest part for her was to say goodbye to 🪙|Aureliano|🪙. They were... close to eachother, since 🪙|Aureliano|🪙 was the one who saved her, and spend the most time with her. They hugged, looked into eachother's eyes with tears in them and said their final goodbyes.

Lore:
I had no clue where to go next! So many options. The world is so big and I can go anywhere!
Seeing different prides and different lands always amazed me. Even from a young age the unknown had always inspired me. I love change. I find it new and exciting.
Some lions think im crazy. Especially the adols back home. They despise change and do everything to avoid it. Even the olders. Thats another reason I couldnt stay at home. Everyone kinda bored me. I would have become a hunter. Or something boring like that.
But out here I can be whatever I want. I can go wherever I want. Nothings stopping me. I just got to be a little careful. Some people arent that friendly. I learned that the hard way.
The desert sand was hot against my paws but it was so pretty. The way the world was spinning and all the bright colors. Wait that isnt right-
*ploof*
The sand rushed up to my face, sand filling my mouth. My legs were aching so bad. I could barely lift my head up. I forced myself up and fog filled my vision. My good eye refused to focus. Everything was staticky. Then everything went black.
I felt lighter. Was I dead? It felt like I was dreaming but I wasnt? I looked around, my movements blurred. It was as if time had froze. Kinda cool not gonna lie. I wagged my tail and watched how it blurred against the black walls. Then I saw something in the distance. Some king of glowing white figure. It was tall like a skinny tree. I moved closer then froze, thats not a tree. Thats a human. Whats a human doing out here?
The human was glowing white and it has six black hollow eyes. It was like it was staring into my soul. The longer I watched it the louder a quiet humming noise got louder and louder. Then it went quiet.
“Open your eyes”
I bolted up, my eyes opening. I was alone in a dark forest. Wait I passed out in a desert? I looked around confused. What is this place?
I heard giggles so I turned and there was three adolescent males standing nearby, nodding at me and snorting. One turned and curled his tail,
“Hey cutie~ Nice a-“
Before he could finish a brown lioness with powerful wings slams into his side. The adol tumbles onto the ground and the other two book it. The lioness then rears back and snarls and the pervert ran off quickly, joining the other two.
The lioness landed quietly and turned and looked at me, she was honestly really pretty.
“Sorry about them. They’re idiots. You’re a traveling lioness arent you? We get them a lot. Apparently this path is popular.” She licks her paw, never taking her eyes off me.
“Y-yeah im a traveler- im not sure how I got here I though. I think im sick or something.”
The lioness pauses then nods for me to follow and she turns and starts walking off the path. I follow quickly, not wanting to be left behind.
“You can rest at our pride for a bit. Until you feel better. Whats your name?”
“Snow- whats yours?”
Before the lioness responded they walk into a massive clearing filled with lions. And if you looked closely you could see a broken down castle hidden in the trees. The lioness leads me past countless adolescent lions training and into a small cave where two lionesses was taking care of a few sick or injured lions.
The two medics looked at me and pulled me inside, working quickly they look over me then offer me food and water. Which I gladly take. They dont speak or anything. After they took care of me they pushed me out, preparing for the next lion.
Not the nicest medics I’ve met. I looked around, seeing a dark brown lioness snarling at a few adolescents who kept messing up their training, then I noticed this was an unnatural amount of warriors. I spotted the winged stranger. I ran over and she smiled at me.
“Whats with this place? Are you guys going to war?”
The lioness laughs and shakes her head,
“No- Banshee acts like it though” she nods over to the dark brown lioness.
“Is she always that intense?”
“Yes. Yes she is.”
Banshee had noticed us sitting around and she padded over to us, her tail whipping against the ground making a small cloud of dust,
“You two. Go join the hunting party. We need more ladies out there.”
Banshee then locked eyes with me, her gaze cutting through me.
“And you. You better prove yourself useful if we’re to waste food and water on you.”
I nod quickly and notice the winged lioness was already moving towards the forest. I ran after her, I didnt want to be alone with Banshee. She was kinda scary.
———
The hunt went very well! We got so much but I felt like I wasnt doing anything. All the other lionesses were stronger and faster than me. I was quick but not that quick. Even though I didnt do as much Banshee didnt yell at me like I thought she was. She nodded her approval and went off into a cave.
“Where’s she going?”
The winged lioness smiles,
“Her lover Inspire. Loves her way more than any of us, her own children.” She laughed a little, obviously joking.
“Wait shes YOUR mom?”
The lioness nods and stretches out before laying down.
“Wait- You never told me your name. Is it Ghost or Phantom or something?”
The lioness laughs, “my name is Lamb”
I lay down beside Lamb and I felt her curl around me before I fell asleep.
————
Two days past of me staying in this pride. Honestly their warrior spirit was inspiring. It made me yearn to be like them. I started watching Lamb more as we hunted, copying her moves. Even though I had a disadvantage. She had wings, and two eyes that actually worked. But I got better. I started bringing home more and more kills. I earned everyones respect. I even joined in some of their adolescent training.
Everything was perfect. I even planned to stay a few extra days. Yet.. something was off. I couldnt shake off the feeling that something was in the forest. Whatever it was with pulling me. Every hunt it became harder and harder to focus. Maybe its my yearn to explore? I dont know it was strong. And this last hunt Lamb started to notice I was acting weird. I couldnt ignore the feeling anymore.
Lamb and I took up more hunts for the pride as the other lionesses grew tired quickly. It was like their energy was being drained each hunt. So for the extra hunt today I met up with Lamb near the forest.
—————-
I walked over to the forest, odd I beat Lamb here. I sat down and watches the leaves moving in the gentle breeze. I relaxed and let my mind go silent, letting the noises of the forest fill my senses. I wanted to see if I could hear any prey so I would have a good idea of where to look. I heard something faint in the forest. I tilted my ears forward to try and get a better angle. It sounded almost like.. humming. My eyes shot open. Humming. The same humming from that dream.
I completely forgot about how I got here. How one moment I was dying in the desert to the next I was here. Maybe this thing brought me here? Or maybe its haunting me. Either way im going to find out.
I ran into the forest, my paws hitting against the grassy floor. The humming led me deeper and deeper into the forest. How could I hear it from this far away? I stopped to catch my breath and suddenly the humming just stopped. I pulled myself up onto the boulder to get a better look at my surroundings but I didnt see.. or hear anything.
I snapped my head to the side and I spotted Lamb slowly walking towards me.
“Sorry im late- I didnt expect you to come out here by yourself.” She pauses, “God what happened Snow? You look like you’ve just seen a ghost?”
I looked back into the forest, no I didnt come all the way out here for nothing.
“Something brought me out here. A noise- like humming. I have to keep going.”
I jumped down and started making my way through the forest, going in the same direction.
“Wait what- a humming?”
—————————
I set off at a slow pace, Lamb following cautiously behind. As we ventured deeper into the forest, the air grew warmer, the foliage thicker, and the sounds of the woods grew louder.
“Hey Snow, I dont know if this is such a good idea. Im all up for an adventure but we’re pretty deep into the forest. Lets go back. At least get more preserves, tell someone where we’re going. Better yet get a team of hunters.”
I shook my head, we didnt have time for that. I moved quicker and Lamb reluctantly followed. I was determined to figure out what this noise was. I couldnt turn back now.
Suddenly a screech cut through the air. I stumbled back into Lamb as the Earth started to open, a long crack spread across the ground underneath me, I scrambled, trying to grab a branch. I held onto it as the crack opened. The world trying to consume me. I held on but the branch started to bend from my weight. I looked down and I couldnt see the bottom. I dug my claws deeper into the wood and glanced around quickly, looking for a ledge, anything to grab onto. The tree shifts as the crack starts to open under it and the branch gets yanked down, cracks starting to form where I was holding on. I growled and tried to pull myself ontop of the branch.
Snap.
The twig broke and I felt the world around me go cold. I tried to dig my claws into the ground but everytime I got ahold of it the earth shook violently and I lost my grip. Darkness swallowed my body.
I thought I was dead but before I could hit the floor I was yanked back into the sky, Lambs claws dug into my back and she flapped her wings to pull me higher away from death. She grunted under my weight and her wings start to tilt. She quickly landed, I landed on my paws and shook. But there was no time to thank her.
Another loud screech ripped through the sky, coming from the crack. Long talons the size of a full grown male extended from the crack, slamming down onto the cliff. The ground shook as it dug its claws into the ground like butter. Another talon lifted from the Earth, grabbing the other side. Lamb slammed into me, bringing me back to reality. We both began to run back to the pride. I didnt want to see what came out.
We were too far away to even see the territory. If we were to make it it would be a miracle. The trees started to shake then a massive force hit our backs, we fell forward as the wind started to pick up. I pulled myself up and looked at the skies. I wish I didnt.
There was a massive vulture. Bigger than any creature I’ve ever seen. It was even bigger than the castle. Its wings were stretched out, long enough to make a phoenix jealous. The phoenix couldnt compete with size but it definitely scored with looks. The vulture was the ugliest thing ever.
The vulture snapped its head towards me as if it heard me. Its black beady eyes piercing into me.
Sorry?
Its wings gave a mighty flap, making tons of trees bow against the winds it was stirring up. It then shot down towards me. I tried to move away but I couldnt. I was frozen under its gaze.
Lamb moved from behind me, she shot into the air, her wings barely able to keep her in the air. She shot past the monster and it turned to follow.
I had to move. Now. I turn and ran into the forest. I needed a plan. Or more people- something! We cant take that thing down. I dont have much time either. Lamb cant outfly that demon.
I quickly looked around then I saw something in the dark. Two black beady eyes. I froze. Wait- that cant be the vulture. Its too small-
A massive owl leaned down from the tree branch it was perched on, staring at me with curiosity. It was tiny compared to the vulture. But big compared to me. It could probably hold five lions on its back.
The owl fluttered its wings before it took off into the sky. I followed. What else was I to do? The owl led me deeper into the forest. Farther than any of the hunters have ever been. I started to see something in the distance. A cave? No- no thats a temple. Or maybe a shrine.
I moved closer and looked at the dark stone walls. Moss and vines covered the temple almost completely. The building itself was cracking and falling apart. It looked like it was about to collaspe. The owl landed on the roof and flapped its wings, beckoning me to go inside.
I slowly stepped inside and looked around. It was beautiful. The walls were covered in blue glowing drawings of owls and lions, even little cub drawings. I took a step deeper into the temple and flinched back as my paw touched water. I looked down and the floor was covered in puddles. I noticed a shrine like area in the middle and made my way over to this portal like thing. There was a soft worn out carpet surrounding the alter and now it was drenched wet. Nobody had been in here for a very long time.
I looked at the stone alter, this was also covered in owl drawings. There was words carved into the base but it wasnt familiar to my tongue. I looked up at the alter and gently placed my paw on it, when I took my paw off it left a glowing blue mark. Odd. I dried my claw off and touched the stone and it left a mark again. I slowly drew a owl, copying one under mine. I pulled my paw back and smiled at my work.
Then I felt the temple shake a little. I felt my body freeze. Was I not supposed to do that?
A strange feeling suddenly overcame me. Peace. I felt at ease. A glowing figure appeared standing in front of me. She had the body of a human but the head of an owl. She has a long flowing cloak and bright white eyes. Her hands were instead talons of that of an owl. She reached out her claw and touched my cheek,
“Little Lion you have came to my temple. My people are long gone and nobody comes here anymore. Why have you come here?”
I looked up at her, her beautiful brown feathers and moon like eyes, how could anyone leave such pretty goddess?
I looked around at the temple once more and thats when I noticed the blood stains on the walls. They never left her. They were killed.
I looked back up at her and I saw a great sadness is her eyes. I quietly explained why I was there and she nodded slowly. Her talons gently patted my head as she picked up a staff that was laying against the alter,
“Do not give up hope little lion. Your fight has just started.”
She laid the end of her staff against my head and suddenly I felt this strong sense of power overcome me. I no longer felt scared of the vulture. I looked down at my reflection in the water and I was glowing blue, and two horns had grown on my head. I blinked a few times, odd, I can see perfectly. From both eyes. I smiled, I can see! I looked back at the goddess and bowed my head
“Remember little lion.. follow the moon. She shall protect you from the dark.”
And with that she was gone.
I knew what I had to do.
I turned and ran out of the temple, my body moving quicker and faster than I have never thought was possible. I had to save Lamb.
I saw the owl fly in, close behind me, it then went ahead and started leading me. I followed quickly, jumping off boulders and roots.
The vulture slammed into the ground in front of me, snapping at the crack that once imprisoned it. Then I spotted Lamb taking cover in the crack, just out of the reach of the vulture.
I looked up at the moon as it shined down on me and I bolted at the vulture, roaring loudly. The vulture spun around to meet me, snapping at me. I jumped up, landing on its beak and quickly brought my claws down onto its face. I felt my claws rip through its soft skin and it screeched, throwing its head back and sending me flying.
But I didnt fall. I landed in the air on a blue glowing platform. I roared once more, my healed wounds reopening. My fur was on edge as the moonlight highlighted my pelt.
The vulture screamed, its angry cries shaking the trees. It began to beat its heavy wings, rising into the air.
I leaped down, slamming my claws against its face once more, Once I got a good grip I opened my mouth and screamed in its face, a fog of frost shooting out from my mouth. The frost quickly gripped onto the vultures scarred face. The vulture threw me off as it recoils in pain. It hisses, bringings its talons up to scratch at its face. Its eyes fogged up with a familiar glaze.
I blinded it.
The vulture threw itself against the ground, dragging its face across the tree, trying to get the feeling to go away. I dodged its stamping talons and grabbed Lamb, pulling her out of the crack. Just in time before the vulture slammed back into the ground, the Earth closing up once more.
I collapsed onto the ground, Lamb against my side. Lamb was completely bloodied and beat up. I pulled her to me and licked her face, trying to get her to open her eyes but she wouldnt budge. My heart tightened as I tried to wake her up.
“No- No get up Lamb! Dont die on me!”
I dug my claws into her fur and shook her, still no reaction. I looked at her chest. It was still.
My body began to tremble. I was too late. Shes gone.
———————————
I passed back and forth. The medics kept kicking me out of the den. They only let Banshee inside.
I had dragged her all the way back home. She wasnt breathing but Im not about to think she actually died. Shes too strong for that. She cant die because of me.
I looked up at the gleaming full moon. It was just now starting to set.
“Please” I whispered to the moon. I might have been talking to nothing but if the moon could help- I really need it right now.
I laid my head down on the ground, my will to keep going starting to fade, “please”
My voice was as shaky as my body. I started to choke on my tears,
“Please bring her back! If you’re out there! If you can help please help! Take my life! Give it to her its all my fault!” My claws dug into the ground, as fear enclosed over my heart. I threw myself up and ran into the forest. I had to find her, the goddess, she would help.
I ran as fast as my body could go. Tripping and stumbling over everything. Tears filled my vision and I couldnt see anything. I felt myself hit the stone cold ground of the temple. The water splashing against my face.
I let the water move my body. I didnt care anymore. Darkness started to fill my vision then I heard it.
The humming.
I bolted up. Anger started to fill my every essence. I spun around, the humming was coming from outside the empty temple. I rose to my paws and ran out. It was time I put an end to this thing. It brought me out here.
It killed her.

——————day 1——————-
I stood at the edge of the void, my heart shook my entire body as fear closed up my throat. I stared out at the abyss. Suddenly I felt myself falling, my senses quickly dissolving as I plunged into a bizarre world I had never seen before.
I was just about to hit the ground before I slowed down, swaying back and forth like a piece of paper. I landed gracefully onto my paws. I tried to smell but I couldnt. I grazed my paw against the neon green grass but I couldnt feel anything. Whats going on? It was as if my senses were completely gone. But I could still see.
I looked around and everything was.. strange. I didnt like it. This place was filled with an unnerving mix of colors and shapes, and the air was thick with an oppressive energy. I felt like I was barely breathing.
As I started to walk through the surreal world, I felt a presence following me. No not again! How did it follow me here?! The thing behind me gave chase as I started to run, it moved with an unearthy grace and his gaze seemed to pierce through me. I began to run faster, my ears ringing with the sound of strange creatures that lived here.
Soon I lost it. It was easy to lose. It just caught up so quickly. I laid down on the odd grass to catch my breath.
———————————————-
I had been running from this monster since I left the temple. I was originally following the humming. The humming stopped and a monster came out to kill me. See any pattern there?
It was broad daylight and my powers didnt work so I was forced to run. And I ran for so long. But it was always there. Creeping up on me. I havent got a good look at it yet…and I dont want to. Whatever it looks like had to look hideous.
I buried my face in the grass, letting myself relax. It was the first time in a while I let myself relax.
How I got here was all by accident. The same thing happened as before and I just cant wrap my head around it. I found shelter from the monster and used that chance to go to sleep. I dreamed about the void again.. but I couldnt control myself.
Then I woke up falling through the sky.
None of it made any sense! And this place- what the hell is this place?!
——————————-
I looked around once more, at the neverending hills and the same tree on every single hill. Everything was identical to everything. I looked at the sun… wasnt really a sun. I jumped back as I saw a massive eyeball where the sun should be. It was staring right at me. Why me? I dont know. Everything looked flat to me.
After I got over the unnerving ass eyesun I started to explore this world I notice a few buildings in the distance… a village? I looked back up at the eyesun. I swear it hasnt moved at all. Oh and did I mention the sky was pink?
I started to move closer to the village, being extremely cautious. Lions who live out here- they have to be a little odd right?
The land surrounding this small village was covered with pink flowers. The flowers looked so fake. When I touched the petal it didnt crumble or fall off. It felt like human plastic. Strange right? I wonder if those trees I saw earlier are also fake. (✨foreshadowing✨)
I slowly enter the village, slowly examining the buildings. Weird. Completely empty. I try to keep walking then I suddenly hit something and fall back. I brushed my paw against my nose as it started to bleed. But I didnt hit anything. I stand up and walk forward, again I get pushed back, a wall materializing in front of me before it fades away.
Even more weird.
I back away then turn around. I guess the world is flat. Maybe the moon is made of cheese here?
I ventured back to the hills. I had to know if the trees were fake. I ran over to one but before I could get too close I saw something. Er… heard something. It sounded like..singing? I headed towards the noise and was brought to massive flower patch. The grass was taller than me. I started to push past the grass then I spot a bunch of lions basking in the sunlight. Oh thank god normal lions-
Spoke too soon.
A lioness turned to look at me and she purred hello but her face.. her face wasn’t right. Her face was a sunflower. I looked around, all the lions had flowers for heads.
I stumbled back, no that isnt right. I felt a paw tapping my shoulder and I spun around, claws unsheathing, ready to claw up some petals. But instead of a flower I was met with a normal lioness. A completely normal lioness. She glared at me,
“Why so uptight?”
I started to explain but she stared at me like I was losing it. I pointed to the flower girls and she still stared into my soul. I looked back at the lionesses but they were..all normal? Just a bunch of happy ncls laying about. How was I supposed to explain what just happened? The lioness did not approve of me apparently and shove me out of the flower patch. So much for making friends.
I stared back at her as I started to walk. I didnt want her following me. And I walked right into someone. I stumbled back and looked up at a male lion. He had a bright blue mane and black and white spots. Kinda like a cow. He had a look though. Like he had been waiting for me.
“Hey babe- where did you run off to?”
I wanted to smack him but I hesitated, as if I waiting for Lamb. Lamb… I miss her.
The lion moved in, placing his paw under my chin and lifting my face up to meet his,
“Why so sad? Wait- why didnt you tell me you had cubs!”
His face lit up as he stared behind me. I dont have cubs? What is he talking about. He must have lost his shit. I turned and looked at where he was looking. Okay I think I lost my shit. Two cubs were sitting behind me. I would have thought they belonged to the ncls but one of them was almost identical to me. No- no this isnt happening. I never got pregnant! God whats going on? Im in this strange place and im being hunted, this pervert is acting like im his lioness, and now apparently I gave birth?! I felt my heart beat quicker and the air grow thicker. I couldnt breathe. My eyes started to cloud and the last thing I saw was the bright green grass
———————Day 2———————-
My ears were ringing and I heard echoing whispers everywhere. I slowly lifted my head and my head spun. There was colorful things jumping around me but my eyes refused to focus. I blinked a few times and slowly rainbow colorful lionesses came into view. All of them were smiling ear to ear at me.
I backed away, looking around at my new surroundings. I was in some kind of tunnel. Outside tons of cubs were playing. Inside lionesses were laying on nests. All of them was staring at me.
A pink lioness with a golden blindfold made her way through the path and stood in front of me, her tongue sticking out slightly,
“Dont fret Snow. You’re in the nursery.” She smiles, “You passed out earlier so take it easy. We all understand the stress of your big day.”
I shook my head, my vision clearing more, “Big day?”
The lionesses started to giggle,
“You must have hit your head hard! Its your wedding day silly!”
My whole life started to stop. Their giggles distorting echoing in the back of my skull. What do they mean? What are they talking about?
The pain in my head started to crawl back. I felt something warm run down my head and blood dripped onto the ground. What the hell?
I blinked and suddenly I was on a platform. My body was adjourned was white jewels and flowers, the blue male standing in front of me…and wedding music was starting to play.
The blue freak took a step forward me, whispering “I do.”
I slammed myself against him, making him stagger back, and I ran past him. I heard surprised gasps from the crowd but I kept running, ripping the jewels off.
———————Day 3———————-
I awoke to something moving nearby. I pressed myself against the floor. After I escaped and successfully crashed my own “wedding” my head felt like hell and I had to rest. I found a mess of vines and crawled under it. It was cold down here but at least I was hidden for now.
I watches the blue paws walk past the vines. My hiding spot worked. Then he stopped. Or maybe not.
“Snow. You have one last chance. Come out and be my wife or I’ll make sure you die here.”
I froze. He knew I was here. I stayed silent. I obviously wasnt going to be his wife. I didnt even know his name!
The lion waiting a while then left. Weird he didnt kill me like he said he was going to. I was free. Finally free.
After I knew he was gone I crawled out of my hiding spot and looked around. This place was eerie. Both unsettling and oddly.. captivating. This place seemed to defy all rules of gravity as well. I looked at the floating rivers. Yeah that makes no sense.
I cant tell whats real and whats not. Its as if reality and a cubs imagination got mixed together and turned into rainbow puke. I looked at the forest. This is where I came from. Maybe I could find the way out.
As I walked through the dense and eerie forest, the smell of wet dirt and decaying plants filled my nose. The air was once again thick and oppressive, and the sound of rustling leaves and distant sounds of chittering insects filled the silence. I felt a sudden rush of unease come over me, as if the forest itself were alive and watching my every move. The trees loomed over me, their twisting branches reaching toward the sky like grasping arms. I felt a chill run down my spine as I continued walking, I just couldnt shake the feeling that I was not alone. As I looked around, I noticed strange shadows moving in the corners of my vision. The air began to get thicker and I felt like I couldnt breathe. I started to panic as I heard something move behind me, and I ran as fast as I could.
I didnt look back. I wanted out of this place. Suddenly my body slammed against the ground. I must have tripped. I tried to get up but my hindleg was stuck. I looked down and a root had curled around my leg. I fought against it, pulling as hard as I could. Then I saw something behind me.
It looked to be a lion but it had a twisted warped appearance, with body parts hanging at unnatural angles, eyes in strange places, and flesh made out of pixelated blocks.
It started to make it way towards me. A static coming from its mouth. It was speaking but I couldnt understand a word it said. I fought harder as it moved closer, the world around it seemed to corrupt even more. I heard my foot snap and pain flared through my body but it was soon numbed by adrenaline. I forced myself up and ran once again.
It shrieked behind me and I still didnt understand what it said but one thing was apparent. It was pissed. And it wasnt giving up.
I looked up at the sky as I ran. The eye staring down at me. It hasnt moved. I have no sense of time. My magic wont work unless the moon is out. Im helpless. I cant do anything.
I felt myself slam into something and I recoil quickly, lowering into a fighting stance like Banshee taught me.
A weird figure stood in front of me. It was twisted and distorted but what wasnt here. It had a heart faced- well face. With two big crystal-textured eyes. Its face was maned with pointy spikes and it had a skinny body of a human but with long nails and it was honestly pretty short. Face to face with me though. But it wasnt attacking.
It jerked its head to the side, its clawed hand reaching out to me. It seemed friendly.. maybe? I let it get close and it carefully raked its fingers through my fur. It made some weird incomprehensible noise before clapping its hands together quickly. Maybe I made a friend? A very odd friend. Very odd.
“Do you know the way out of here?”
The thing looked at me and stopped as it was processing my question before nodding eagerly and it began to run. I quickly followed. I didnt want to be left here alone.
After a long run it stops near what looks to be a… a chicken coop? The thing makes some weird noise and points at it. I slowly walk over to it, lifting the lid off.
A rainbow chicken hops out. I couldnt help but laugh. Mean what did I expect? The chicken looks at me and shrieks. Yeah thats not scary. Like im not being sarcastic its a fucking chicken.
I spoke too soon. One by one thousands of angry chicks ran out of the forest. All climbing over each other. All running at me with the anger of an army of Banshee’s. I did the most reasonable thing in that situation. I kicked the chicken, turned, and ran.
My legs were starting to ache with how much running I have been doing. I was both physically and mentally exhausted. I was being hunted by some kind of demon, a chicken, a chicken’s minion, and a bunch of chicks. This was so stupid.
I collasped.
I couldnt keep going.
I saw the chicks start to gain on me but I couldnt move. My vision slowly started to fade to black. I think I lost.
———————Day 4———————-
I started to awaken, my body surrounded by a bed of feathers. In confusion, I looked at my surroundings, wondering whether I had died. To my surprise, I saw two small cubs playing happily in the feathers around me. Upon catching the sight of me, the cubs ran over to me with joyful exuberance, their eyes sparkling with excitement. I couldn't help but be touched by their enthusiasm. As I looked into their faces, I realized that these two little bundles of joy were my own cubs. I felt a sense of warmth and love towards them that I had never experienced before. What was I doing! No these arent my cubs.
I forced myself up and shook the feathers off. But what if they are? And they did save me from the chicks. I looked back at the cubs. They were sitting there impatiently. I couldnt just leave them here.
I let out a heavy sigh, already anticipating the trouble we were going to get into. Despite the misgivings, I gestured for the cubs to follow me as we set off on our journey. I could already sense the chaos that awaited us, and I regretted my decision before we had even taken our first step.
As we started our journey, the cubs stumbled over each other, trying to keep up with my pace. Despite their clumsiness, they seemed to be having the time of their life, laughing at their own ineptitude. I couldn't help but feel a sense of joy watching their innocent playfulness. As we walked, we came across no other monsters, which was a huge relief. If any monsters did approach us, they would immediately turn and run with their tails tucked, obviously afraid of the cubs' presence. I couldn't help but find that funny. The cubs were so small compared to them.
The cubs werent that bad. I found out their names were Ziz and Xox. I never named them that but they swear I did. They swear a lot. Telling me stories about them growing up with me. Stories I dont remember. It was if this was another dimension. And I took another me’s place. But for some reason I had a feeling I was very wrong.
—————————
We were wondering around aimlessly for hours. I noticed the cubs were trudging along, barely keeping up, so I decided to rest. We found a nice spot next to a waterfall. The water was pink but nice nonetheless.
The cubs found renewed energy and pranced around the forest. Their energy- it kinda reminded me of someone I once knew. I looked up at the sky, I wonder where they are. Where my siblings found themselves.
I heard a branch snap and I snapped my head back down. It was just the cubs. I was on edge- this place was messing with me. The cubs were sitting in front of me with excited looks. They were hiding something.
“We got something for you!”
They both squealed happily and showed what they were hiding.
And thats when I met Blue.
A blue tarantula sat in their paws. It seemed to lock eyes with me. I couldnt help but growl. But as soon as I did the cubs got sad.
I shot up, forcing a smile,
“Oh my gosh its so cute!!”
I was lying. But it worked. They both smiled and jumped around.
I slowly picked up the spider and it crawled onto my back. Im not okay with this- but if it makes them happy. Then I’ll do it.
———————-
I jolted awake, suddenly filled with a sense of dread. I could feel the presence of something nearby. The thing that had chased me into this world. And it wasnt scared of the cubs.
I quickly woke up the cubs- I didnt want them to be apart of this. Last time I brought someone with me to a fight they- they died! I licked both of them, expressing how much I loved them and that I swore to come visit again.
Once I set them back on their path to their pride. Their home. I sighed, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. Despite the sadness of being separated, I knew that this was for the best.
With one last look, I turned to face the monster that had been following me all along. The feeling of dread in my gut had been replaced with a sense of determination. I knew that this was going to be a huge challenge, but I was ready to face it.
It was not what I expected.
A lion stepped out of the forest. His pelt as dark as the void I came from. His face completely gone, as if someone erased it. In stead a carved word was the only thing on his face,
“INSANITY”
I started to back away as it slowly made its way towards me. What was I supposed to do? Its not nighttime. I have no powers! Im useless!
Insanity stopped a few feet and jerked its face up and let out the most ear splitting shriek ever. Before It ran at me full speed. It moved at an unnatural speed, slowly corrupting the world around it more and more.
I turn and ran. But I knew I couldnt outrun it. I skidded across the ground and once I got far enough I slid into an empty animal tunnel and waited. My heart was pounding so hard. My confidence is already gone. What was I thinking? Im useless! I killed my best friend! My thoughts began to spiral. I couldnt focus. I couldnt breathe. I coughed out, trying to catch my breath. I saw Insanity making its way towards me.
I cant hide from it.
I cant run from it.
Im doomed.
I felt myself stepping out of the tunnel, accepting my fate. It ruled this world. How could I beat it?
Just as it was about to be upon me I heard a soft squeak. I looked over and saw two cubs. MY two cubs. Watching from a bush absolutely mortified.
They must have turned back when they heard the thing scream. I couldnt let them watch me die.
I looked up at the sky,
“My pride. My family. My brothers and sisters! Be with me for the gods cannot save me.”
I snapped my head down and roared at Insanity before I ran full speed at him. He didnt slow down or stop. Infact he got faster.
We collided, the ground shaking as we reared onto our hindlegs, both snapping at each others neck. Insanity shoved me onto my back and I could barely keep his fangs away from me. His strength was stronger than any lion I ever knew. Even Banshee or Lamb.
Lamb..
The world seemed to go silent.
———————
Lamb came into view. She smiled at me as I struggled to catch a fish from the river.
I laughed and splashed her with the water and she scoffed before pushing me back into the water. We sprawled for a while before giving up and laying in the water. Banshee started to gripe at us for scaring the fish but she didnt budge from her spot beside her love, Inspire.
I felt apart of their family. Lamb was my sister, Banshee and Inspire my mother. My temporary family.
The world around me spun and I was just a cub playing with my siblings. My own blood mother watching us proudly. I remember the warmth she gave us. The love my father cherished me with. I remember him listening to my make believe stories of exploring. He loved my creativity. And when I became an adol he wasnt surprised when I asked to be a traveler.
I thought of my cubs. My two odd, but beautiful babies. They belonged here in this world but that doesnt change the fact I love them. And they love me.
So many people love me. And I’ll always love them. I cant die now. I need to go home, to see my mother and father! To see my siblings. To see Banshee and Inspire! To see my two cubs!
———————
I snapped back to reality and shoved Insanity off. It was oddly easy. I jumped up and roared at him. Snapping at him warningly. But for some reason he didnt attack again. He just stood there.
I roared again. I was ready for anything he threw at me. I was going to beat him.
But he never attacked. I blinked and he was gone. And something odd was happening. The world was disappearing. One thing at a time. The trees began to disappear, the weird eye sun.
I smiled. I looked at my two precious cubs. They were confused. I guess I was disappearing in their pov. I hugged them both and licked them good bye. I’ll see them again.
And like everything else they also disappeared and I was back in my world.
I beat Insanity.
