Omg she’s perfect 🥹 Fourth Queen of the Kalahari Pride!
Nyara’s firstborn!! Nyara thinks Faline’s father, King Astrophel, is the most beautiful lion she’s ever seen. His daughter inherits her father’s beauty, and her mother’s skill.
As King Rego approaches retirement, he approaches Faline with an unexpected offer: he wishes to name her Future Queen! As the granddaughter of Adea, Brond’s firstborn, her claim to the throne is even better than Rego’s, and he wishes to honor that. Since Faline cannot be king, her mate Falling Spark will take the throne legally, but Faline will be the official heir, and the two will rule as equal partners.
Faline is stunned, but accepts. Her cousin Kanu, Rego’s only son with Queen Kona, is much too young to be an heir. She will hold the throne for him until he is ready.
Faline is a different kind of queen than her predecessors. Instead of leading the royal hunting party, Faline teaches and looks after the next generation as a broodmother. She is a fierce guardian of the cubs in her care, and no one mistakes her gentle nature for passivity: she will defend them with her life.
Faline bears her cubs after she and Falling Spark ascend to the throne: her first litter, Sababu and Alia are raised as royalty and stay in the pride as adults. Mabusu, the only cub in her second litter, is also given the title of Princess, and a place in the pride, but prefers to leave the pride as an adult to go rogue with her half-sister Endana. Both families miss their girls, but are happy they at least went together. The wilds are difficult for a lone lioness.
Her third litter yields a daughter, Chikara, who stays in the pride as an adult, and her fourth and final litter consists of only one cub: Reth. Reth is born after Faline and Falling Spark retire and pass the throne to Kanū, and so he is raised with the same love and gentleness as his siblings, but is not considered royalty. Reth doesn’t mind a bit, he gets to spend far more time with his parents than any of his siblings did, since they no longer have royal duties, he lays claim to all of their free time!
Reth falls in love with a young lioness of the pride, Harayn, and the two wish to leave together and form their own pride as adults. Reth can’t bear to leave his aging mother, so the couple stay until she passes, naturally, in her sleep.
Faline’s four remaining cubs bury her with all the honors a Queen deserves, and Reth and his mate leave at dawn the following morning, off to see the world and honor her memory.

~Faline is sitting in the grass looking bummed. You pick them up by the scruff of the neck and carry them to your sleeping spot, where you groom them until they feel better.
~Faline asks if you have invented any new, adorable cub names yet.
~You apparently ate something bad last night, and you just flop on the ground. Faline comes up to you and asks if you want anything. She brings you some grass and water, and sits next to you until you feel better. 4x
