Imeachwa was a dissapointment since she was born.
She was her
mother's last cub. Since all her other cubs didn't manage to survive, Opal hoped that her last one will be special in some way. Getting pregnant at her age wasn't easy. After many failed attempts
Anza even bought her a rare and expensive kind of meat that was supposed to improve her fertility.
When her daughter was finally born Opal refused to even look at her. What was that? A small, weak, and ugly piece of fur. She didn't even wanted to name her only child. When Anza found out about the situation he decided to call the cub Imeachwa, which meant "Abandoned".
Because of Opal, Anza actually considered abandoning Imeachwa at the Giving Tree. She really was weak, keeping her in the pride probably was a mistake, but Anza decided to let her stay. She was his child after all, even if she was imperfect she deserved to have a home and at least one loving parent.
Luckily
Hatari volunteered to adopt the poor cub. She was like a real mother to her, she treated her as her own, but Imeachwa never felt close to Hatari. She always had Opal on her mind. She wondered what she did wrong? Why couldn't her real mom love her?
At first she blamed herself, but at some point she realised that she isn't the problem... It was her mother that couldn't love her. It was her fault! She was the reason of Imeachwa's suffering. She deserved to be punished for it...
Opal's life ended soon. It wasn't her age or any sickness - it was Imeachwa.
The young lioness attacked Opal when she was alone. Killing her wasn't hard. Maybe Imeachwa was weak, but so was Opal. Maybe when she was younger she was one of the strongest huntresses in the pride, but now? She was an easy target.
Imeachwa didn't even bother to bury her mother. She threw her to be eaten by a crocodile, and when she returned to the pride, she declared that Opal's death was merely an accident.
Maybe Imeachwa washed Opal's blood of her fur, but in reality it was stained forever. She never forgot how her mother's life left her body under her claws. And she never regretted it. She saw it as her greatest achievement.
Later Imeachwa decided to create her own hunting party, The Young Blood. Unfortunately, the group quickly broke up. Imeachwa was too aggressive towards other lionesses and her hunting methods were too brutal. Instead, the new king, Hawk, decided to make her a fighter.

You move towards ππ¦ππππ‘π°π to greet her affectionately, but she head-butted you in greeting too hard. Ouch, that smarts a bit.
