Kanzi

"Move. Over!" Kanzi whined as her two older sister's hogged the space beside their mother's back. The other two were dead weight, asleep and barely moved. "I hate you." She muttered, rolling onto her stomach and standing up. She was not comfortable. The other two were older and hogged the room every night. She bounded off from the den, her eyes bouncing along the tree line. Her mother told her not to venture too far into the trees but Kanzi liked to explore and get into as much trouble as her little heart desired. She made a dart for it but something caught her tail, pulling her backwards. "Oof."

"Where do you think you're going?" A voice spoke and immediately Kanzi gulped, her ears folded back and her head turned to look back. xMkuu stared down at her, his green mane was soaked from a night swim she guessed but his eyes stared down.

"I was-"
"Disobeying your mother? Tsk, Tsk. You need to go back to bed little cub," xMkuu spoke.
"But there's no rooom." Kanzi whined, "They hog the warmth and I get pushed every time. Can't I stay up with you?"
"Bed." He repeated, but before she could whine again, he lifted her by the scruff of her neck and carried her back to Charlemaine, who slept heavily with two cubs curled up against her belly. He plopped Kanzi down and nudged her chin softly. "Good night," He whispered and Kanzi yawned unwillingly.
