When Rhea passed away, Caniss was the one who grieved the longest, and quickly threw herself into a spiral of work. Despite being very affectionate, Caniss isn't the first to show her own emotion to others. She'll hide the feelings of sadness and pain within her, internalizing it. However, she is always one to listen if you need a helping paw or an ear.
