Welcome to the Springs
Surrounded by a cruel savannah, after days of endless traveling, you find yourself at the foot of a large canyon, with a waterfall supplying water to the lake at its base. Exhausted, you finally make your way toward the water, ready to treat yourself to a sip of the cooling source of life.As you approach, you carefully inspect your surroundings. You notice several trees growing close to the water source, forming a ring of sorts around. You also notice seemingly empty caves situated very near the waterhole. It would be a perfect place to move your pride to. The air around you is pleasant, fresh even, as though new life has been recently brought into this place.
As you lean your head closer to the water, you notice there isnβt just your reflection present on its surface. You quickly lift your head and find you were being watched the entire time.
Standing on a large rock in front of you, you find a petite lioness, with greyish pelt and piebald mutation covering her withers. She looks down at you, ready to strike in case you try to attack her. Her body stays still though, only the lashing of her tail indicating any emotion.
"Welcome to The Peaceful Springs traveler. What business may you have here?" She asks, her gaze carefully observing your every move.
A moment of silence passes before you introduce yourself. You take a moment to study the lioness before you, wondering who she is and if she is dangerous or not. Is it just you or did the air become more heated just now?
"You can call me Phoenix" She continues after receiving your name. "Feel free to stay for as long as you need. My pride will provide you with shelter until you are ready to continue your journey." She says, her tone still slightly hostile, although much less than before.
