A soft, trickle of water enters your ears and you push to stand up, walking through the tall, yellow grass to find something unexpected. A lioness in amber jewels, silently staring into the water and swirling her paw through it. Her eyes are cloudy and white but far from empty. She calls to you in an ethereal voice as you pull yourself to the edge of the pond and lap up the cold water. “Welcome! what is your name, traveler?” You answer her between gulps of water and she smiles, still facing the water. “What a beautiful name.” The lioness sits by staring into the water and telling stories of successful hunts and silly cubs as you rest against the bank. It’s nice to have company.
