Possessing primal heritage previously, Mto wasn’t completely shocked when she noticed that her kitten had a bobbed tail and sharp canines. Being a fairly new member of the pride, she at first hid the cub from sight, afraid that the pride would judge her for this mutated creature she’d brought into the world. In fact, it was the opposite. The gorgeous cub was adored by her father and her pride, most notably her two half-sisters, Kwanza and Alfajiri.
The cub was named ‘Msitu’, meaning ‘forest’, though the name also pays tribute to the king that started this pride. Feri I sees this cub as a sign, a reincarnation of Msituni. Draping her in ropes and lotus, he proudly announced to his children that a new member had entered the generation of the future.
At 1 year and 1 month old, Msitu took an oath to protect the forests surrounding the pride grounds. She adored talking to the trees with Alfajiri, and spent hours sat in clearings, patrolling them to make sure no poacher would harm any creature in the area. She also adopted Mleta, the bobbed tail cub without parents.
