It was no surprise to anyone to find that Pepo’s cub was born with irregular colouring - white splotches that covered the little kitten’s body like someone had dipped a white cub in mud. After all, this cub’s father did possess the same splotches.
Feri I, however, was delighted at this development. He introduced the cub to the cave of the homebred mutations immediately, knowing this was the start of a breakthrough: this was the first cub in the pride with a homebred mutation that he wasn’t the father of. She was named Nyekundu, meaning ‘red’ to match her beautiful mauve and white pelt.
At 10 months old, Nye started hanging out with other animals around the waterhole. There, she collected flowers and many friends of all species.
At 1 year and 3 months old, Nye took her young piebald friend everywhere with her; she’d practically adopted it. It never seemed to have a stable home or parents, so she took it as her responsibility to care for it.

This lion was born to https://www.lioden.com/lion.php?mid=102481 and https://www.lioden.com/lion.php?id=794229625553 on 14/10/24 using a cotton root bark and an instant birth feather. She is the first piebald mutation I have bred.
