Story:
Unexpectedly born, Luhatio was a surprise for his older brother the king. None the less, Cynbal could see the male cub was going to be a strong male when he grew up, much stronger than he ever could be. Luhatio was everything Caddoc wanted in Cynbal, but for Cynbal, it had to be beaten into his mind time after time to become strong. Luhatio was born strong. So, with not a single sign of jealously in his queen, Cynbal named his younger brother his heir.
During Cynbal's reign, Luhatio had no desired to steal his brother's throne, but was perfectly happy with correcting his weaknesses. When Cynbal died young and mysteriously, although Jelani his adoptive son assured that the late king fell to an illness, some still suspected Luhatio had something to do with it. Truth was, he didn't, but he did suspect something was wrong with the circumstances around his brother's death. However, rather than stirring up trouble, he decided not to attempt to find the truth. He needed peace and solidarity among his pride, without it they would fall.
Oddly enough, Luhatio was less cruel than his older brother and Cynbal's predecessor. Mostly this could be seen with how he treated not only his mates, but all the lionesses. He didn't treat them like property as Caddoc had, or with little respect like his brother. Perhaps this was most evident in how he treated his sisters, Autumn, Aurora, and the youngest, Ayo, especially. These three lionesses were his most trusted advisors next to his mates. Moreover, he highly doted on his oldest sister's daughter, Simisola, and was often seen with her when she was little, playing and goofing off mostly, but other times gently teaching her the serious lessons of life.
The cruelty and fierceness of his predecessors lived on however. He had no sympathy for those not of his pride, and just barely had respect for his allies. Of the Dark Marsh lions, his disapproval of Prince Caedmon II was obvious, and often publically vocal. He disliked the way the male put down not only his own ideas for the allied prides, but also those of the Dark Marsh's heir, Prince Taiserro. He was never very fond of Tai's uncle, King Cahir of the lake either, but that was possibly because they were so alike. He did, however, have to approve of Cahir's choice in heir. When Cahir died, a young, very fit, male took his place as king over the lake, and he was Luhatio's half-brother...
