story of my pride below.
"The mouth that tipped her tail opened and closed gently as it flicked back and forth in lazy arcs. Each pass a tiny nibble against the paw or ears of little ☆°•Cherry•°☆ as she giggled and played behind Kaguya. The Celestial queen stood in quiet watch as shining preon scanned her lands and the souls who came under her care. The cherished daughter behind her she had rescued from mortal pain. ❁Eva☯, her darling sister who had been her guide and strength since they were young cubs. ⛱︎Selene☀, the siren she had found alone on distant shores and brought here. Kaguya crafted her a lagoon in her lands, a safe harbor where she could swim and play, and on bright starlight nights the queen herself came to play, racing along the shore as the siren darted after in the waves. ❥Coraline✿ whom she had brought into her stars to be her messenger to the mortals below her or if she needed to reach out to the other kings and queens of the heavens. The young dwarf held her personal protection and was a welcome sight when she came racing among the stars.
And to think there was a time this might have never been been hers...
It had always been her destiny to be married to a neighboring pride. A mating of convenience to strengthen connections and bring power to both lands. But love was never supposed to be in her stars, no matter how strongly her heart earned for it. So then how did she get so lucky with her darling mate?
With furs as pure and shimmering as the clearest waters. A voice as smooth as the wings through the plains and a smile that rivaled the stars, there was no denying he had been an attractive suitor. Their engagement was set and thus the courting began as their families encouraged them to bond. They may not love each other, but they would need to at least tolerate each other. Little did they know that his warmth and charm, his gentle care, would win the heart of his betrothed. Just as Kaygua's firm but gentle paw when it came to her subjects would win his. By the night of their wedding, Kaguya had fallen hopelessly in love but her one fear was that she would have the stars behind to join him in seas. To pass through mortal lands to enter his world and leave the heavens forever.
After the ceremony, her beloved led her a pool of shimmering water and placed his paw on the surface and asked her to do the same. She did as he requested and preon looked into the gems of her husband's eyes as both began to glow and the water began to swirl. When all settled...the pool became a mirror. A portal. Free passage from her world to his and the realms of the heavens and seas were tied for as long as both drew breath. His wedding gift to her was her own kingdom in the stars she loved and cherished and she may grant her blessings to any mortals she deemed worthy.
And thus...the loved of the cherished Kaguya began. The sister who had been shunned for her bloodline was given immortality so she could live and reign with the younger queen. Cubs that would have been abandoned and left to die for being different were gathered into her paws and brought home. Granted a life free from pain or fear and promised they would never be forgotten or treated like they were too different to be loved. She played with and loved every single one of her adopted children and she never pushed them further than their body's could handle. Thus the little one playing behind her.
When she speaks, all ears listen. When she walks her realm, she is met with love and joy for all who know her reign know that she is just and fair. Her kingdom thrives and her subjects have all they could ever need. The lost and forgotten will find homes under her care. But the nights she cherishes the most are the ones she steps through the portal into the realm of the seas. And the stars shine brighter when her beloved comes to her and her night is spent in his embrace."
