The jungle thinned, giving way to a large clearing on the outskirts of the plains. A grand lake, shimmering in the sunlight, lay in the middle of the clearing and where a few scattered rib bones of long ago carcass.

Closer to the shade on one side, were smooth rocks edged together, on top of two rocks was a big rock known as 'Majestic Rock'. These rocks were known as 'The Ladder' the higher the rank you were, the higher you could go. On Majestic Rock, in a slight tangle of willow vines, lay a great, mighty lion, his gold-like fur shined, and his wavy locks of mane flowed slightly in the soft breeze. Next to him snoozed, an elegant lioness. King and Queen of the pride.
