Hi there, guys. This idea was inspired by my misunderstanding of how the hunting works since the new system was implemented. I thought it works like this, but truth is that hunting is still mostly as random as it can be. There is no tactic involved. As long as you place 5 lionesses on random tiles, they will catch any animal on those tiles without giving us a chance to have more control over what we want our lionesses to hunt. Problem: Hunting is still random, this way we still don't have as much control as we should have over hunting, there is no chance to build up our own strategy, this also makes it harder to complete hunting quests. Solution: Make tile types and the number of lionesses positioned upon them more connectedHow this would look like: You know how the prey guide tells us how many lionesses are needed to catch it? This requirement should be made stricter, by asking that these lionesses should be on the same type of tile. ---------------------------------------- Example: Number 1: We want to catch a buffalo. (Currently, it is enough that just one lioness of the five is positioned upon one of the required tiles) With this new setting, we would need to position at least 4 lionesses on the same type. In our case, for example the Waterhole. Number 2: We want to catch a Zebra and a Gemsbok. With this new setting, you will have a much greater chance to bring them back (since you cannot bring back large carcasses that require 4-5 hunters) by placing 2 lionesses on -for example- Marshlands, and three on the Desert. Number 3: We want to catch a Buffalo again. With this new setting, it would strictly be required to place the lionesses on the same type. Of course, Buffalo can be also hunted in Waterhole and the Marshlands, but you cannot hope for a Buffalo if you place four lionesses mixed on these two type of tiles. You need to place them either in the Waterhole or the Marshlands. ----------------------------- But the hunting grounds are random... We will not get 5 of all type of tiles, but sometimes only one. We will not be able to get prey from those tiles! Every day will be a new challenge. Indeed sometimes you will not get the required number of tiles on a day for one type, but you will have plenty of others to choose from. I think this is a small sacrifice in exchange to the ability to have more control over hunting. Does this mean that the lionesses can now bring back more than two carcasses? No. All other settings still would apply. You cannot get more than two carcasses from a single hunt, and if the lionesses bring back a large carcass (Eg.: Buffalo) they will not bring back another. Just like now. Okay... So... How does hunting work right now? Currently, you can place your lionesses anywhere, if you want you can place them on completely different type of tiles and you will be able to catch any prey that is at home on those tiles. Meaning large prey too. Eg.: To catch a buffalo you just need to make sure that you have at least a single lioness on Waterhole/Marshland and you can place the rest anywhere else. Which means, that you will catch random prey from those tiles, unable to go for specific prey according to lioness placements. So you want to catch a giraffe calf and a Hartebbest? You probably will place 2 girls on grassy and 3 on drylake, hoping to catch those, since they require 1-2, and 2-3 girls. Right? Well, guess what! You gonna catch a Hirola or a Wildebeest! Both requiring 4-5 girls because it doesnt matter how many you place on either type of tiles! All that matters is how many girls you send hunting! |

Right? I totally thought it was this way as well and was wondering why the heck it was so hard to get a friggin GAZELLE. Please change it to work this way, or at the very least change the prey list so the way hunting actually works is not so ambiguous. 0 players like this post! Like? |

But with this , hunting takes more time. Than you need to pick a pray for them. And for people who like quick hunting.... This will take more time 0 players like this post! Like? |

Why would it take more time? You already know what prey you want, so choose the tiles that will give that prey. If you dont care what prey you want, then just choose randomly. It wont take more time. 0 players like this post! Like? |

If its random, that would explain my difficulties in catching a gemsbok for my quest... 0 players like this post! Like? |

Support! I put one lioness at a village, and four other lionesses somewhere else. They brought back a cow, and I was a bit surprised, since it says you need 4-5 lionesses to get a cow. Speaking of villages, this system may make it harder to catch things there. The most villages I have heard of people having on their hunting map at the same time is 3. I'm not sure if there is a maximum number you can have, or if it is just really rare. I don't see this as a big loss, though. The only 4-5 lionesses prey is cows and giraffes, and you can get giraffes at any hunting spot. They could lower the required lionesses to get a cow to 3-5 lionesses, or they could add cows to another hunting spot. Maybe they escaped and went to go graze elsewhere, like in the grassy area. They could be uncommon or rare there, since they are just escaped cows. Also, I have sent five lionesses off hunting, only one in the village, and they brought back a chicken, which only requires 1-2 lionesses. I understand why that is, but that is also kind of misleading. I thought I could only send 1-2 lionesses out hunting, but I guess that is just the minimum required amount. This doesn't bug me as much, but I thought I should mention it. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 19/06/15 by Scott alottosay [0/25 GB] (#61560) |

I had no idea it didn't already work like this. o.o No wonder completing quests is such a pain. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I supported long ago, but honestly today I'm just frustrated. Are the chances to catch the quest-given prey lower than usual? I've been trying to catch one zebra for 5 or so days (failed one quest bc it expired w/o a sinlge zebra brought from a hunt and immediately took another, which turned out to be zebra hunting again) and once the quest was done, suddenly my lionesses can't stop bringing zebras from every hunt, and I placed them in a tactic similar to what Clay described on zebra-containing tiles both during and after quests. Gah. I can see the logic behind that, but the difficulty of hunting the necessary prey is just way too low. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I supported a long time ago, but I have an idea I'd like to put to you. What are your thoughts on being able to 'direct' a lionesses over the lvl of 25 once per day towards a certain type of prey? I finally hunted a kob after my level 20 - 30 party stumbled finding dik diks. As experienced hunters they should have some shred of intelligence to at least try find the right thing. I feel something like that would encourage levelling and also allow a better may of completing hunting quests. 0 players like this post! Like? |

That is a very good idea. Mind if I include it in my first post? I will credit you for it, of course. 0 players like this post! Like? |
