So, fun idea (I thought) to enhance the RPG element of the site--what if the lionesses all had natures assigned to them? Kind of like karma except they can't change (or at least can't change as much) like the lion's can. And so when a lioness breeds with a lion his karma status and her nature combine to create the nature of the cub. Example: Male has a Cool Guy karma Female has a Sweet nature Offspring are nice/good natured Example 2: Male has Scary karma Female has Evil nature Offspring are Beast/Scary/Evil/etc natured Kind of like breeding results, but for personality! Maybe have a small percent chance that the cubs will defy the nature of their parents and be born as something opposite of their parents or something random. This would help for cool RP elements like two evil parents having a Saintly cub and the story that follows. What do you guys think? Edit: To clarify, I am not saying cubs are born with karma. I'm just suggesting that pridemembers be coded to have natures/traits that can be passed on and depending what your male's karma is that can effect his cubs. Of course males could also have natures/karma too, I just figured that would be more work for the coders and make this fun little story-building thing less likely to happen. ^^; |

The way Karma functions, it's a thing for you, as your male lion. I don't see this as being useful in any sort of way. What purpose would it serve? Many players do not care for or hate role playing. While I used to role play, I do not care for it anymore. I would not want to have to deal with this. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I support this fully! Moon Willow, I find it very hard to believe that a game so rpg-based would have "many" players who wouldn't want to have more role-play elements. In any case, how would you have to "deal" with it? If you wanted to, you could just ignore it. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Well if it was karma based then your future studs would then be born with some level of karma, so it would have some purpose. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I see rpg much more as a role play, than just a SIM that you breed lions on and fight random NPCs. If this was implemented, I wouldn't be able to just "ignore it". It would be there no matter. I couldn't just turn it off. Karma is for the player as the male, not individual lions. I don't see a practical use for giving lionesses karma and having cubs born with it. 0 players like this post! Which would be why more interactive features are being put in place. Yes, it would be there, but would you absolutely have to pay attention to it? No. However, as WhiteFireLion said, your future main lion would then be born with some sort of karma. Even if you didn't like that, you can always purchase the very cheap item from Monkey Business that puts karma to 0. 0 players like this post! Like? |

The game creators are always talking about how they are proud of the fact that this game is different from other SIMS *because* of the Role Playing elements...I would imagine that any added features that enhance the role-playing aspect of the game would be welcome. You certainly don't *have* to use the feature though. Just as you could ignore your male's karma if you don't role play, you could ignore the nature of your females and cubs if you wanted to as well. If you're not making stories with your lions then I don't see the problem. :( Sorry this makes you so angry, I wasn't trying to irritate anyone with my idea. 0 players like this post! Like? I think it would be better if the individual lion "natures" were different from the level karmas. This would serve two purposes: 1) It would still give individuality to every lion, which can enhance role playing. 2) The nature (say, naive, brave, etc, like those used in pokemon games) would not conflict with a male lion's karma. (As it would make little sense to have a kind natured lion with an evil karma.) One way or another, I still think this is a great idea that would help me brainstorm RP plots--or it would just let me enjoy my little pixels more anyways. <3 0 players like this post! Like? |
