I really like hyenas but I never notices these things before on the game I guess am zoneing outXD Am hopeing to get a tattoo as one, but yeah it should be fix to make it more professional.

Omg yes!! Is it just me or is it annoying that people in general assume that hyenas are in the dog family just because they look like dogs, but they're really from the weasel family?

Actually. Hyena babies can be called Pups or Cubs. Most people prefer to call them 'pups' because they have a very close resemblance to wolf pups.

And technically hyenas are their own unique branch. Their closest relatives though are fossa, civets, and mongooses.

They're somewhat closer to cats than dogs.



Also, Whitefang, they are correctly called "cubs", not pups.

It's sort of like people calling young horses "colts". A colt is a male foal. A filly is a female foal. Calling one a "filly colt" is incorrect, even though people do it.

They are not from the weasel family actually! They are in their own family the Hyaenidae family! But are closely related to mongoose and weasels more then cats and dogs.

also @Whitefang1 thats not true, people call them pup because they are mistaken for canines, their cubs look NOTHING like wolf pups. Now wolf offspring can be cubs or pups but not hyenas, trust me I have studied hyenas for a year now, its a very strong passion of mine.

Also if you read that wiki page all images state 'Cub(s)' not 'Pup(s)'.

Thanks you Drongo, I'm sure Whitefang1 is just misinformed? It is a common mistake found over the internet. Really I'm trying not to lose my cool over this because I'm very touchy about my hyenas. They are like my babies or something.
