People seem to suggest a lot of things to righten the lion market and make sure that people get more tempted to buy lions. Many want more hunting slots which can be filled with lionesses, but this would inflate the stat market, spreading high stats and flooding the market with it. So, if we want to make sure that stats are still able to be sold, we need to avoid enabling more lionesses to gain stats. I see one possible way to solve this issue: Add more roles to lionessesThere were many quite interesting suggestions so far and I was inspired by those, and found that they might be the ultimate solution to this very problem. I decided to make a sum up thread for them, where the staff has easier time seeing them. So, here are the suggestions for the roles (Feel free to suggest your own ideas) 1. Hoard Guard/Hoard Keeper This lioness assigned to this role cannot go hunting –because if she does, it will be automatically removed from this role- and will sit in your den all day, guarding the hoard. Because a lion’s stash surely tempts the other predators of the savannah, and they will attempt to steal your food. A lioness however can deter them just fine. One lioness gives you about 60%-70% guarding rate (or only can protect small carcasses up to 4 uses), so for the 100% effect you will need two guards. These lionesses cannot gain stats; instead they gain skills after each day of successful defending. (the amount I leave to the devs) This way the safety of your Hoard will depend on 1-2 lionesses, making people buy more for their pride. The higher the skill, the more effective they are at defending the hoard. Slots available: 2 (-inspired by Summer's Eve’s idea-) ------------------------------------ 2. Thief This role is described by Sunfire, although as an event idea. This however might bring a little more life into Lioden. There can be only a single Thief in the pride, who can be sent to other people’s territory to steal small prey -1 or 2 uses carcasses. Note: Your Hoard is safe, nothing is stolen from there, only from the territory, by hunting there. The lioness is on the male’s territory for an hour. However, there would be a chance for responding to it. Your male has the ability to catch her red-handed and steal the prey back. Maybe there could be a countdown in your den without any inbox notification to give the sneaky feel to it. If the lioness succeeds, a small carcass is added to your hoard and after a cooldown she can be sent again. The lioness would gain skill after each successful stealing. The higher the skill, the more chance there is that even though the male caught you, you could get away and bring the carcass back anyway. Slots available: 1 (-Original idea by Sunfire-) ------------------------------------ 3. Roamer/Explorer This lioness can be assigned to go and explore, just like how a submale can be assigned to patrol. And in the same fashion as well, so just click a button and off she goes, or have a separate page where you can set where she should go. Maybe once every hour. She would have the chance to bring back toys and small carcasses (eg. gerbil, meerkat), and would gain exp for each time she brings back something. The higher the level, the more items she will bring back. A level 20+ lioness has the chance to bring back bigger carcasses. A Roamer could also bring an adolescent female along, but she would not change the rate of how many items the Roamer finds. However, the higher the level of the roamer, the more chance there is that the adol female will gain some stats (not at the same rate as the submale, mind you) Slots available: 1 (-Inspired by fluffyfg’s idea-) ------------------------------------ There ya go, a lion pride now has 5/10 huntresses, 2 Hoard Guards, 1 Thief and 1 Roamer. Which means 9/14 useful lionesses in the pride which should stimulate lion demand and purchase. Feel free to suggest more roles –within reason of course- or add your own thread if you have suggestions already. Thank you. |

"Stats mean too much in the game" Stats actually don't mean anything at all in the current game, other than the arbitrary appearance of being "prestigious" or desirable, and that's entirely determined by players and however long it takes to get a lion to have high stats. If it's tougher to get, people place more importance on it, and people will continue to behave that way no matter what. You don't have to look at it from a high-end perspective. Let's say a newbie has mostly NCL's, and scrounges up enough SB to buy a 300-stat lioness with Stamina much higher than any of their others. What if that lioness could go out hunting more (more stamina, more hunts for having more endurance?) and bring back more food to feed their pride? Or to sell to help them earn beetles. My point being, it could benefit any kind of player, it wouldn't just be more encouragement to get solely high-stat lions. But like I said, that's how it is already, even without stats actually having any functional purpose. Making them do something wouldn't really change much as far as what people want to acquire. That said, skill and level also do need more of a purpose, I agree. 0 players like this post! Like? |

STATS MEAN NOTHING NOW! Stats have no purpose so by giving them a purpose in the game and using them in conjunction with the lionesses roles would they mean something! I just don't want numbers wracking up to find that they do nothing. If we make it to where the stats serve a purpose then the higher statted lions would make more sense why people would spend nearly a 100 dollars on a breeding! 0 players like this post! Like? |

I know they have no uses, I was saying they 'mean' too much to people. Nothing has uses atm on lionesses, neither on lions (minus skill to some extent and level on males). That is one thing we all know. meaning and uses are different things. Things can have an important meaning to people without uses. Just clarifying as a response to the scream at my head. Thank you. So yeah, they mean too much to users. No matter if stats have no uses and skills are just as useful -so useless- as stats, they are however worth less if anything. People get angry when they get skill and not stats. To make sure that all attributes of a lion count, they need some kind of significant use. Stats will get their own uses later, but not individually. However, all attributes need attention, and as such we need roles that will not require stats, but skill and level. The reason why I cannot see individual uses for stats is because you cannot control what stats your lion/lioness gets. You cannot work for stamina or strength individually, but they gain randomly. If it would be possible to work towards a specific stat, then there could be individual uses. Otherwise I dont think it makes sense. One person can get lucky, others not. But even if that was the case, I would still like to see all these roles independent from stats but only use level or skill for their tasks. Giving them some meaning. 0 players like this post! I agree with Axel, I don't think Stats should be dependent. I love this idea. I think it would definitely liven things up when you are waiting for your Energy to revive which takes like 2-3hrs. I Support! 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 26/03/14 by Selene (#4717) |

I support 100%. I've said for a while now that lionesses need more to do, and more ways to play. All of these sound like so much fun. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I adore all of these ideas, I have so many ladies and unless they are hunting they must be bored. I think they should go with the level system like hunting, stats blah, it works in my head. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I think these are all great ideas that should be added to the game, not only to make it more fun but to help the market :) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Stats should absolutely matter, right now we have 500+ stat lions that people can't sell because nobody wants them. The new battle system should help this some, adding a use for lioness stats would help more. 0 players like this post! Like? |

But why should stats always matter? Why cannot we have some roles where they simply arent needed? Think about new members. They will basically need some of these lionesses. NCLs would also gain new roles this way and would be a bit more valuable. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I love the idea of more roles for my lioness, some of mine tend to kinda sit with nothing to do. Support 0 players like this post! Like? |
