Apparently you're meant to do 20 mins on and 20 mins off with revision. otherwise your brain gives up after the 20 minutes. I do love having teachers in the family xD.

I might be inactive for a bit.... Im extremely close to just flipping out and killing something or someone. I've been bullied every day this year, Ive been made fun of and singled out by everyone. The only true friend i have is my dog. Aint that sad? The only one to comfort me is my dog. I cant go anywhere with out being singled out and picked on :'(

Just today I apparently was talking shit about someone whose name never left my mouth, only to say she was talking about me. I've been called names which include "Pussy" "Scaredy Fish" Been told I "Smell like the ocean" and even more. Sorry to disappoint guys but it's hard to concentrate while trying to get over bullying...

Awww Des I know how that feels, I got bullied every day for 12 years straight, I know it hurts now but honestly rising above it gets you through, I know it sounds stupid but I used to tell my dog everything (and I mean everything) and it made me feel better purely because they just listen and don't judge but if it's that bad talk to the parent/person you trust most about it. I told my mum and she was just there for me, reminding me it would get better and it damn well did. Now I'm at a top university doing what I've wanted to since I was 6, I'm always open for rants/helpful advice too <3

Im having college and majoring issues and im stressing out so much right now. Im basically just getting a ton of advice from everyone i know thats in college or just got out of college for help :/

I dont know how i got invited to this site, but i got dragged into it and just kind of went with it, so now im trying to figure out some stuff because some colleges sent me stuff, so i was like "why not" you know...? But my perfect day of no homework and some fun college research turned into im going crazy and i feel like a panic attack is coming on .-.

Anyway, yeah im scared. My friend is trying to cheer me up by saying that a lot of people change their majors, or are unsure of what they want to major in for a while. Hes a college junior and is still modifying his major, and some sophomores in his class are considering changing their majors, etc.

Im sorry for chatting your ears off im stressed right now and when im stressed i talk about my worries a lot.

I go to a University called Bangor (it's the best in Wales and one of the best for Marine biology) I'm studying Marine Biology there xD.

It works differently here in England but from what I know, in the first couple of months if you find you don't like your course you can change it to something else. Honestly it's not something to get too worried about though, but I do recommend you see what the courses you want to do offer at colleges, picking the one that you fine the most interesting.

What have you done for marine biology? How is the class? What stuff are you learning? (basically just everything fun or bad or hard about it >.>)

Like choosing the course you find most interesting at the particular college you choose? If thats the case then im doubly stressed. I have no idea what college to go to. I have 5 that id like to apply to, but if i dont get into any of them then i have NO idea what i should do afterward....including scholarships, im a big capital stressing person too...so im worried about paying for everything, getting scholarships and what scholarships to apply for, etc.

My first year was general biology mainly so the bits of my course I did were: Introductory research skills (basically learning about statistical tests), Organismal diversity (learning about certain phyla and what classifies organisims as certain phyla), Ecology and evolution (explains itself really xD), Introducing the oceans (about ocean physics basically) and my practicals (going and classifying animals I've collected from samples, drawing them and labelling their features). My course expected a lot from us due to it's status, so it's pretty damn hard and you have to make your life revolve around it. For collecting expeditions because you have to count the tide I've been out on a beach as 6am in the morning, so you've got to be 100% committed. Most of it is also working with bivalves and gastropods (mussels, dog whelks) so don't expect to be around dolphins and whales and stuff.

The list I've given is the courses my university offered, within your course you'll get 'unit' options. I suggest looking through all of them for which ones you like the most. I also suggest doing open days, one of the main reasons I chose my university (there's three major ones) is the fact that I felt right there, it felt like somewhere I could spend three years of my life very happily. I can't help you with scholarships because in England we take out loans from the government and use that so I'm not much help there.
