Appearance: -x- -o- Name: Otis Age: 3 Years Gender: Male Breed: Alaskan Husky Rank: Lead Dog Personality: Otis is a young, charismatic, brave and laid-back dog overall. Although, as a lead dog he will not hesitate to correct any team members when needed. Yet he tries to retain his laid-back persona. He hates opening up to others as he likes to look like a "tough guy" and will do his best to avoid awkward situations. Through his cool guy act, Otis is very sensitive, caring, and misses his owner. ![]() Name: Apache Age: 2 years Gender: Female Breed: Siberian husky Rank: Teamdog Personality: Apache is only young so is often a very light hearted, playful spirit who will do anything for fun. She loves nothing more than messing around, although she also has a strong love for pulling the sled. Being young she has bounds of energy, although this is often misplaced. Generally she doesn;t take things seriously so can get told off a lot for that, Mate/crush: None, feel free to message me =3. Offspring: None Family: All in Siberia History: Originally Apache lived in Siberia until she was bought by a rather rich man who wanted her for his daughter, but the young pup turned out to be too much. The man then decided that instead of simply dumping the pup he'd find somewhere her energy could be put to good use, therefore finding the sled dog team. (Just some info for you guys : The only dogs that are considered able to be 'sled dogs' are Siberian or Alaskan Huskies, Alaskan Malamute, or Eskimo dogs :3 Also, @Galaxylion, dogs with wolf blood are technically against the rules of most competitions and places to race.) Appearance: Clicky Name: Veera Age: 2 years, 5 months Gender: Female Breed: Eskimo Dog Rank: Team Dog Personality: Veera is very small, meek, and generally weak. She's shy and timid, only speaking when she absolutely needs to. She'll blandly follow orders, and she's unhesitating to do absolutely anything anyone tells her. She's easy to shoo, and she doesn't like to really hang around other dogs. She's quite unlikable, forgettable, and thus is generally disliked or brushed off by the rest of the team. However, she's quick to pick up on hints and she's quite good at noticing things, seeing as she's not distracted by other dogs. She's usually the first to notice anything, but because of her personality she simply won't tell anyone else. Mate/crush: Open, PM me! Offspring: None Family: Her father, like her, was a racing dog. He was a Lead Dog though, and he was very unlike her in her personality. He was bold, daring, strong and cunning. Her littermates went on to become quite successful sled dogs, even though her mother was an ordinary house pet. History: As a pup, she was raised by her mum and her breeders, seeing as her father was off at work. Her mother always told the pups that they were all destined for greatness, that they'd all be great sled dogs. This wasn't very true of Veera, as the only things about her that were fit for a sled dog were her physique and her obedience. She learned fast, though, even if she was very weak. Later along in her career, she grew very attached to the people she was handled by. The keepers, the musher, even the vets were better companions to her than her fellow working dogs. Thus, she was a very neglected member of the team. Themesong: Hide and Seek - Nightcore Other: None :3 Appearance: Clicky - He is very large, broad, and strong. He also has a very long and fluffy coat. Name: Iber Age: 3 years, 8 months Gender: Female Breed: Alaskan Malamute Rank: Wheel Dog Personality: Although he is very broad, strong, and large, Iber is not the strong and silent type. He is generally sociable, likable, and charismatic. However, he physically lacks emotions. He thinks they get in the way of everything, and in his case, they do. He thinks emotions can distract him from being able to survive and to complete his job. Despite his lack of emotions, something does fill up that huge head of his. Iber is very cunning and smart, figuring out puzzles in a matter of minutes. He's very strategic as well, and he sticks to a specific plan and schedule in his head. He's quite clearly not the brainless brawn that everyone hears about. Mate/crush: None, and doesn't want one. Offspring: None Family: Iber comes from a line of unsuccessful - but in a breeders eyes genetically perfect - sled dogs. His grandfather's run the Iditarod, even though he failed miserably. His mother is a bulky, large, and fluffy breeding dog, quite perfect for harsh conditions. Iber is the only one of his littermates or siblings to be a sled dog. (Everything below is optional) History: Iber has quite the reason to have no emotions. When he was only a year and a half, he fell in a sort of puppy love [I'M NOT SORRY] with another young alaskan malamute on his team at the time. He ran races with her, winning a few of them and losing some. The losses didn't matter to him. As long as she was by his side, he was happy with life. However, tragedy struck one day in late April as the ice they were running on cracked and the team plummeted into freezing water. Iber and most were able to make it out fine, but his mate was a smaller dog and couldn't handle the cold. With his mate dead, Iber fell into a sort of depression - a series of losses quickly following. He realized that with emotions he could never be a strong competitor, so he completely cut them off from the rest of him. Themesong: World so Cold Other: Just because he doesn't want a mate, doesn't mean he's un-charmable :3 ![]() |

@Cloutier, accepted and yeah I know. x3 My aunt is in sled dog racing, she tells me all about it and stuff. I'm just being open minded with the breeds to provide some variety. ![]() |

I can't see a Keeshond as a sled dog though. But I'll think about this RP. Hopefully it won't get away from me. ![]() |

@Mots > I totally agree. One and a half feet tall at the shoulder seems tiny compared to the commonly used Huskies and Malamutes. ![]() |

The most common breed used in sledding is an Alaskan Husky, but they're not necessarily a breed. They're a cocktail of dog breeds that their musher believes would be the best racers. ouo ![]() |
