Shaya sighed as her foot still did not come out of its trapped state. She whined low. Something led her to check behind her. And there, a male. She immediately let her ears go down and her tail go between her back legs.

"I'm so sorry, s-sir. I don't mean to bother y-you, I j-j-just..." She motioned to the paw, closing her eyes. "Sorry." Companions? What could he possibly mean? As in... Mates? A male such as this one was out of her league. But if that was indeed his meaning, she would follow him without a qualm. After all, her heat was to start not long from now, and Shaya grew bored of loneliness.

"I-I would not protest t-to becoming your companion..." The pretty red wolf ducked her head, still in a submissive posture. If she suspected right, Twist would soon slink off in defeated annoyance. Shaya decided that this male was absolutely a good one, and if he saved her, she would gladly follow his every command. "I-I'm Shaya, by the way."

Elihu | Male | 2 years old | Undecided Rank | Finding Remington, Luna, Velvet, and Dementris

Elihu's padded quietly through the forest on silent paws. He gazed intently forward as he searched the forest in search of the wolf whose howl had drawn him to this part of the land. The haunting song of heartbreak echoed in his ears and he scanned the horizon in hope of finding it's source.

A chill breeze gently stroked his midnight fur and he inhaled deeply, trying to find the scent of any creatures nearby. After the earthquake he had left his old home in the valley. The disaster had been a warning from the Spirits. He needed a family. If he had been injured in the earthquake it would have been the end of him. A pack, a family was there to make sure such death could be avoided. He blinked slowly and paused in his journey, adrenaline making his skin crawl. He could smell wolves.

Elihu cautiously lowered his head and sniffed the air around him. One male... Two females.... And a pup! A rather sickly pup too, by the smell of it. He narrowed his eyes thoughtfully. Were they the remainder of a pack? Or perhaps survivors? He hadn't realized the area damaged by the earthquake was so spread out. He hoped these wolves weren't aggressive. He really wasn't in the mood for a fight. He was a massive wolf, but living alone didn't always mean successful hunts. It had been slim pickings before and after the quake. His best option was to investigate these wolves, and see what they were like. Who knows, they could be the pack he was looking for! If they didn't want him he would leave.

The black wolf sniffed the air again, and then made off in the direction of the wolves. He caught his first glimpse of them in a slight depression, or clearing in the forest near a rippling stream. He overlooked the wolves from this hill and was hidden behind some bracken and trees. The male looked very strong, and had a strange coat, while one of the females had a brown pelt and rather striking yellow eyes. The other female was grey, with cream paws and a dark mark on her head. She seemed to be flirting with the male. Then he spied the pup.

The sickly creature was gnawing at an old fawn carcass, it's jaws tearing ravenously at the meat. It reeked of starvation. These wolves didn't look like a formal pack, instead they looked curious about each other, as though they were meeting for the first time. Elihu flicked his ears forward and stared at the four with his bright silver eyes. He decided he was going to meet them.

The large black wolf slowly padded out from behind his covering and slunk down the small hillside towards the four wolves, carrying his head and tail low so as not to alarm them. He skidded down the slope slightly and eventually made it in front of the four rather alarmed looking creatures. He stood up to his full height, his black fur waving gently in the wind as he looked down at the strangers.

"Hello." Elihu said softly as he gazed at them through half-lidded eyes. "I am Elihu. I truly am sorry if I am bothering you, but I am looking for, well, a pack. I lost mine a while back, and would like to join one soon. Do you happen to know of any near here?" He asked quietly as the wolves perked up their ears to hear what he had asked. He really should start speaking louder.

Velvet || Female || 4 years || Undecided rank
Velvet’s appearance

Velvet looked taken aback at the growl Remington released as he spoke, but quickly recovered. It was rare that a male wasn’t into her advances almost immediately, and she saw it as a very refreshing thing, sort of like a challenge. ”I’m so sorry about your past, it sounds truly aweful,” she replied honestly. A pained expression spread over her features as she realised it was something she now knew of; her whole family dead, she still couldn’t process it. ”Though if you’ve survived this long on your own and you still look so healthy you must be really strong and capable.”

The femme listened as Remington described the lands his father had once visited. Her ears perked and her tail wagged. ”That sounds amazing. I don’t know if it’s the Valley of Hope but knowing there’s a land like that out there makes me so happy,” she stared at the ground sadly for a moment, ”Going to a flourishing land might help take my mind off things. You know, a new start and all that.”

Remington thanked her for her compliment and she preened, batting her eyelids, ”You’re most most. I only spoke the truth.”

She turned to look at the femme who had just turned up, only noticing her when the male spoke. ”Hello,” she nodded, sending a soft smile her way, ”I’m Velvet.” She glanced over at Luna, who hadn’t spoken yet. She seemed to be uneasy about something, but the silky female had no idea what it could be. Dementris lay down, yawning, and Velvet padded her way over to her. As she passed Remington she flicked her tail, brushing it under his neck. ”Hey,” she spoke to the femme, sitting down beside her. She dipped her head to lick once over the other’s head in a comforting gesture, ”It seems we were all affected in some way by the earthquake, and now it’s brought us together. We should look out for each other, right?”

The scent of another struck her just before a large, dark male appeared before them. She got up and moved over to him. ”Hello,” she brushed up against him, circling him, ”I’m Velvet, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” She positioned herself half way between the two males before finally settling, back straight to show off the contours of her healthy body. ”We’re not a pack, and I don’t know of any around here, but we are travel companions. We’re looking for the Valley of Hope. I’m sure you’d be welcome to join us.” She looked over at Remington, her tone almost purring, ”What do you think Remington?”

Dementris|Female|3.8 years|Omega
Dementris looked at Velvets healthier body compared to her starved, yet large figure.Most food sources had left the lands after the disastrous event took place, leaving Dementris to look weak.She stood up, raising her head to display her full height, wanting to make a good first impression instead of rolling on the ground like a submissive weakling.

Dementris eyed the bulky, pitch black brute in front of her before speaking."I'm Dementris. And as far as packs go, they have either fled the lands,past on, or are stranded looking for other companions."Dementris walked over towards the pup, deciding to feast on bones and little meat scraps, saving the biggest part for the younger indivual.

Raoula|Female|4 years old| Undecided

Raoula stalked between the trees, head raised to scent for prey. Of course, there was nothing. They had all been scared or killed by the earthquake. Her pack was gone; she was alone. Due to her phobia of other wolves, teaming up with another pack wasn't an option. She was on her own, forever.
Deep inside her, loneliness ate at her heart. A wolf wasn't meant to live alone. She knew that deep down, she wanted friends, wanted a mate perhaps. But she couldn't make friends. She just kept holding herself back. Besides, what wolf would stick around after an earthquake?

Shaking her head to clear it of annoying thoughts, she didn't notice her paws were bringing her towards other wolves until too late. She froze in the undergrowth-ahead, she made out two wolves who seemed to be crippled, and a stronger male. The two omega-looking wolves she didn't fear, but terror of the male held her back from coming forward. She crouched in the bushes, considering, her instincts fighting with her individual needs. At last, she crept forward, ears low. She cursed herself for acting like an omega, but she couldn't assume a dominant posture in front of the strong male. "Hello. I'm Raoula." She swallowed and looked away. "Who are you guys?"

Remington's Face Remington's Body(more muscle though)

Remington stood tall reaching over the females watching each of there movements as Luna started flirting he got stiff and looked at her odd. He was not aware she was flirting and felt weird with her in his space, but he was doing his best to ignore it. He decided to brush off the idea of the pup acting strange and finally got to greeting Dementris, "Hello Dementris, I am Remington you are welcome to join us in our travels as long as you carry your own weight and help out." He nodded to her, figuring she would except and then turned his attention back over to Velvet.

Remington's light blue eyes followed Velvet's movement to the point, he was good at that sort of thing which made him the hunter he was. Predicting there next move was very helpful in his youth catching smaller prey. "Well then ladies we will head in the direction my father had gone to get to this land of salvation, its a long journey so we will get to know each other better on the way." As Velvet walked passed him brushing her tail under his chin, he couldn't help but get drawn to the attention of her hindquarters, taking in her scent as she walked by.

His attention though was quickly changed when a male wolf appeared in front of his group, this wolf was very black, and almost larger than him but not quite. He felt better that he was still larger than everyone. He lowly growled as this was a male not a female and females were present, he wasn't going to start anything but was making sure this wolf wouldn't. Remington lifted his head in surprise when Velvet rubbed herself on him and was quick to introduce herself. Remington growled to himself that the female was just a flirt and did not have those actual feelings towards him, but he shook it off and dealt with it. He walked over to the black male making sure everything he had was shown, his muscles, his paws, tail, eyes, and teeth standing tall only a bit taller than this wolf. "I am Remington, and that pup there in Luna, and there is Dementris, and well you already met Velvet. We are not a pack yet, but with you I guess we could be. We are heading to a place of salvage that will take a few years to get to, so no funny business alright?" He looked at Velvet and gestured her to move away, and started a slow circle around Elihu growling. "I do not want to start anything with, and I am fine with you here of course but understand I don't take orders from others so please don't think you will be bossing me around." He then stood right in front of Elihu looking deep into his eyes and backed away and nodded to him. "You decide if you would like to join its up to you."

Dementris|Female|3.8 years|Undecided (I got confused with this, she's a loner)
Dementris was shocked at Remington's reaction towards Elihu."Alright tough guy he gets your point."She happened to hear the hybrid mention a pack, and stepped up to both of the males."Well, if you plan on making a pack, we need to establish ranks, and I'm assuming you two are gonna wanna step up to the plate.But, I want to make one thing clear, you two better figure this out peacefully or else I will step in."Dementris knew all to well how brutes settled these decisions, with fights to prove their masculinity and frankly, she wasn't in the mood for it.She was a dominant figure herself, so she didn't care who took the position as alpha, either away she wasn't gonna follow their orders.

Kade || Female || ~5 years old || Undecided (Being Considered for Alpha)

Kade padded quickly up to a group of wolves. it seemed to be two males and two females. (Remington, Dementris, Velvet, and Elihu).
She could smell a fight in the air, which was irritating, to say the least. "Hello," she said, glancing at each wolf with a cool gaze. She was smaller than both males but if it came to a fight, she would be quicker. The ground was slightly muddy, because of recent rains, and she hated the way the slickness made it harder for her to run properly, but was grateful for the water.
As far as Kade could tell, the fight seemed to be about who was in charge, which was stupid. "In my opinion, umm . . . I apologize, I don't know your names. Well, I am of the opinion that males shouldn't be in charge, anyways, especially not without a balanced she-wolf as alpha," she said, "but of course, I can't be a good judge of either of you, as I haven't spent enough time in your company to truly gauge who you are."

( I think some of you are just mistaken a bit but never did I state I was going to "fight"Elihu, there is no fighting with him. Please read the last paragraph in my last post, I was simply stating my dominance to him...the last part had Remington sit down and nod to him and told him he may join or not its his choice. Just thought I would put that out there ;))

((Nature, thanks for clarifying! I did a fair bit of skimming and I guess I only got the aggression from Remington, but I'm going to leave my post as-is, because Kade is sensing that there is aggression between the two, not that there is necessarily a physical fight going on. She really isn't used to having to force dominance or much aggression, coming from a smaller pack where the ranks were already established.

Elihu || Male || 2 years old || Undecided Rank || Meeting with Remington, Velvet, Dementris, Luna, and Kade

Elihu looked around at the wolves before him and acknowledged each in turn. "Hello, Velvet. Hello, Dementris." He eyed the flirtatious cream-pawed female warily. He then leaned down and greeted Luna with a twinkle in his eye. "Greetings, Luna." He didn't want to frighten the she-pup. He then straightened and watched attentively as Remington introduced himself.

The male was strong, and his sleek pelt indicated a healthy diet. The only other wolves Elihu had met that matched him in strength were his old pack members, although this male was bigger than him slightly. His old family had been the last of the descendants of the great dire wolves. Could this male have some of their blood in his veins? The sparks of respect flickered briefly in Elihu's heart as he watched this confident wolf. He could follow this male.

Elihu lowered his head indicating his subordination to the male, but bared his teeth and bristled his fur reminding Remington of his strength. He dearly wanted to be part of this new pack, but he would not enter it as an omega. He would rather be a loner than an omega. He followed Remington's movements with his silver eyes as he watched the male circle him. He released a soft, deep growl of his own, acknowledging what Remington had said, and when the wolf sat down across from him, Elihu sat as well, although he kept his head slightly lower than Remington's to show respect.

He then raised his head slightly and looked Remington in the eyes. "Understand that it is not in my nature to give orders, but rather enforce them. I am too young and would not feel comfortable being an alpha. However, I dearly wish to be part of this pack, so long as we all work together for the good of each other. I will respect you, if you respect me. I am an honorable wolf. You can expect no "funny business" from me. I am a formidable fighter and hunter, and can be of use to this new pack. However, just because I submit to you does not mean I submit as an omega." He said as he watched the wolf before him.

He then turned to Dementris and dipped his head to the pretty she-wolf. "I appreciate your attempt to keep peace between us, but this is the way of nature between males. We will decide our ranks together. I think you are right though, if we are to be a formal pack we must each be assigned ranks, not just Remington and I."

He then turned to the new she-wolf who had appeared before the group and listened curiously to what she said. She certainly was assertive. "And who might you be? He asked warily after she had finished speaking. "I am Elihu. Although I was once known as 'The New Night'." He said before turning back to Remington. This she-wolf was hinting at an alpha female. This was a different situation entirely. He then stood up and looked around as the ghostly song of a wolf rang out through the forest. How many wolves are searching for what I might have found? He thought to himself.
