On Earth, we only know the race of humans--but what if there was a second race? A race that has been here all along, but hidden barely beneath the humans noses? It used to be against nature for there to be something with a sort of supernatural capabilities, notice I said "It Used". Say hello to the second race in question above, The Ethereals. These Ethereals...they are gifted in many ways, but look exactly like the Human Race. The Ethereals have existed for as long as the humans have, in the beginning they didn't hide, they tried to work with the humans, they tried to become brothers and sisters. But, that was a long time ago, during the ages when the Ethereals were actually called The Righteous Ones, they were given this title because they helped solve problems a meek human could not do on its own, they saved many lives. The Ethereals and humans worked together until the Medieval ages, until a man by the name of Francis Westfall determined all Ethereals to be killed on sight. No trial. No chances. All Ethereals had to hide their abilities, they had to hide their true selves in order to live, thus getting the name “Ethereal” which means invisible. Today the Ethereals still hide themselves from humans, and most of them will use them as food sources but it is against all Ethereal laws to kill humans without a good reason.

Some Ethereals still hold grudges against the Humans, but others tend to befriend them. In order to have a human amongst other Ethereals, you have to "claim" him/her, which means you are responsible for watching them, and keeping them alive. Some Ethereals claim humans to have an easy food source, but it is deeply frowned upon in the Council, and punishments will occur.

Another thing about Ethereals, they come in many different "species" if you will, and when one species procreates with a different species there is always a dominate gene that would determine the species of the Ethereal. It was just the way it always seemed, the Homogeneous Gene would cancel out the Heterogeneous Gene, thus making no mutated-- or half-breeds. Notice I used pass tense again... It has only occurred three times, but the Heterogeneous Gene canceled out the Homogeneous Gene three times, and only three times, making a mixed Ethereal. Originally this would be viewed as a good thing, two strong Ethereal species in one, but in reality it makes an Ethereal with some quirks. These quirks have been hard to find, but...after one died, the Ethereals were able to save the other two.

Umm, I'll stop boring you with my History lecture...
