You wake up behind bars. Your head feels fuzzy and clouded, as if you aren't even really awake. Your vision is slightly blurred, and the air is silent and still. Your sight comes back into balance after waiting for a few minutes. What is this place? You don't remember anything at all. Slowly, cries and noises start erupting from the distance. Howls, yelps and cries of pain crash down on you. The area is a dull grey. You see other cages around you. There are others! "Bring out 42!" A voice calls out. A strange human-like creature walks into the area. All of the animals are trapped in cages, like you. The cages are attached to grey, metal walls that outstretch into one big hall. The yellow creature walks toward you. Fear is the only thing you can possibly experience right now. The "thing" grabs your cage and walks with you. After a few moments, you appear in a white room with a bright, flickering light. Your cage is opened! You try to make a run to the doors, but a human catches you. You claw the table, trying desperately to escape. The human puts a needle in you, and your limbs go limp. You cannot move and you fall into a deep sleep.
Your eyes slowly flutter open. Your vision is blurred again, but it quickly comes back to normal. You appear in a desert-like area. Dried, short grass. A blazing sun that looks bigger than normal. All of a sudden, you feel a blazing pain in your paw. On the bottom of it, the humans have put some sort of tiny metal chip in it. There are other cats and dogs around. They all have needles in them, that have wires connected to one, giant metal ball. What is this place? Where are you, and what ever happened?

This is a feline/canine only rp. The backstory: Earth has gotten warmer and warmer as decades passed, as the sun has gotten bigger and bigger. All of the water is dried out. Many wild animals have died, even some humans. The government has made a small sanctuary. He says that he knows how to keep the sanctuary in good condition. His scientists have found that animal DNA has a source of which keeps the main center of his sanctuary going. All of the housepets have been trapped and force-bred to feed the core. Once the animal is old enough, it is brought to a laboratory. Then, they test the animal's DNA. If it's conditions are right, they will hook the animal up to the machine and suck out the source. The animal usually dies some few years later. Some are lucky enough to live a full life, but it's incredibly rare. Every so often, the animals get to spend the evening free- but behind electrical fences with guards. Pregnant dogs or cats stay safe and pampered, but behind cages as well. Some souls are corrupted, with no hope of living, no hope of surviving. Some of these types are rumored to be evil. However, some animals have hope. Hope that maybe one day they will be able to escape.

The Gateway: The exit leading to the outside world. It is unknown what remains out there, and if it is even safe to be there. All that is collected is that as each day passes, it gets hotter and hotter out there. Maybe it's best not to find out what lays behind the doors?

The Office: If the leader died, and so did the deputy, animals would either be free or die quicker.


The Breeding Grounds: Where humans extract sperm from male creatures and inject into chosen females. They then keep them locked up and do not force them into slavery, so they can rest and eat a specific diet of nutrients.

The Filtering Room: An animal will go through the test that decides all. Some animals hope to fail, most hope to pass. It determines if they have enough energy for the machine to use up. If they do have enough, they pass and get to live- If they fail, they get sent to this room, where they breathe their last breaths.

The Cleanliness Chart
Info: This is how many times you have been tested on. It will affect either your Wisdom or Health. If you are Not Very Clean or over, you will receive a health bonus. This gives you an edge in fighting. If you are Not Clean or under, you have more wisdom of the layout of the place. You are more likely to be able to avoid more tests and find food and water besides the tubes they put in all of the animals as a way of feeding and drinking. You also have a better chance of joining the big breakout that is rumored to happen.
