Ever since I joined this site, something has always caught my attention- the Sharpen Your Claws area.

Having the random chance to gain stats twice is quite a nice thing, but at the same time, things seem oddly clunky to me. For example, as far as I know, people ONLY have 2 turns per day. What I'm suggesting is not to give people unlimited scratching turns, but rather, flesh the game out.

The basic amount of turns to scratch your claws is 2. So, what if, by random chance, we could have days where lions could scratch more than twice.

Example: Log in after rollover, and a green alert pops up along other possible things, like PM alerts and the like. The alert reads something like "Your lion is feeling extra excited/worked up/pent up today!" and that would get you a boost of 1 or 2 extra turns in the Sharpen Claws area.

Or, instead of appearing upon rollover, it would just appear on the Sharpen Your Claws page. There could be rare days where you get +3 turns, even.

No infinite turns, nothing else changed about it. Essentially, I'm just suggesting to see this tidbit of the game expanded upon a little. Feel free to offer your own suggestions, and if you don't support, tell me why? :D

No support, there's really no point to this. 'Sharpen Your Claws' has been this way for as long as I remember, and it has always worked out just fine. There really is no need to change an old classic.

Well, alright, I respect that, but if it's been this way since the beginning, what's wrong with a little, 'oh thats nice' completely random addition to it? It's not like every single player would be getting a boost every day, and even if they did, the chance of gaining stats via Sharpen Your Claws is random in itself. Hunting has changed, exploring has changed, so why not this? It's always seemed to me that perpetually having 2 chances is... Odd, really, just asking to be expanded upon.

There are two chances so that it is simply chance. I've never had any problem with the current. They only changed hunting to make it more efficient, and they changed exploring so it wasn't the same all the time, made it more entertaining. Neither of those reasons would apply to this idea. It wouldn't make it more entertaining, it wouldn't make it more efficient, it would barely change the idea at all. I see it as another free hand out that we simply do not need, and unnecessary work as well. I'm sorry but again, no support.

If you want a new spin on sharpen your claws maybe propose to make it more interactive, but I don't really see much of a point in this except more work for the coders, sorry :\

I definitely think it seems clunky.

It's a strange thing and seems mighty arbitrary:

- Why are there three different options, when all seem to offer the same things?
- Why is it twice a day? Why not three times a day, or four?

I'd change it to something like this:

- Your lion may sharpen his claws once each time he is at 100 energy. This resets when he reaches 0 energy (through explore/breeding/whatever).
- Each option on the drop-down menu has a chance of increasing his physical stats. Ex.:
* Rock = strength
* Tree bark = stamina
* Grass = agility

I'm pretty sure each stat you described is already present in the current sharpen your claws. It's just that each offer 2 possible types of stats instead of 1. I personally have never gotten strength via the grass option, only rock and maybe tree bark. I'm not an expert on the subject but that's just my two hoots :')

I just feel like it's strange since its always been twice. Why even really have a counter there if every single day, it's always going to be 2 sharpens? It feels like at the very least, in some sort of event there would be an option to do it more than that, like whenever the Battling Arena (or whatever oops) event it. I respect that, and that's fine you don't like my opinion and suggestion though~

Yeah, I feel like that Kholeros. I've never kept track of what area gives what stats, though that's not something I'd be wanting to change, just a possible, random extra turn. I like the interaction options though! I still think there should be a small pool of turns just in case we have a stat issue like with the lionesses. There are people who could easily buy energy roots and abuse the ability to sharpen at 100% energy after all.

Good point! Add a cap, then--however many sharpens you could theoretically do without the roots.

I support and i agree with Klhoros too. I think it would be nice for it to expand. And it wouldn't ALWAYS be twice a day anymore. There should be a cap, like on bone marrow. It should still be left to chance as always, and maybe the areas do a bit more or something specific as well. Ive never paid attention to WHAT stats my king gets though. Just whether or not he actually gets any.

But What would make it even more interesting is if it also had the change to take away a turn. "Your lion is feeling very tired today, -1 turn"
