The way the Fossils are currently set up is rather confusing. Each fossil has 10 uses, but you need 15 of them in order to make a dino decor, which means a total of 150 uses! For those of us who glance down at our hoard real quick and get the number of uses and the number actually in our hoard, this is, like I said before, very confusing. I have two proposals to fix this problem. The first one is simple and probably only takes a little bit of modifying to the code. Change "10 uses" to "1 use." Easy as that. However, I feel that another proposal would be more fun in the game and would allow it so that leftover fossils won't be sitting in your hoard all year doing nothing. Why not turn fossils into an amusement item? Fossils in real life are the most amusing thing we have in the game. A lion could spend all day pretending to be the animal that once walked upon the earth. And, like crafting decor in the Monkey business, using your fossil 9 times would not affect how many fossils you have, you could still use it to make your dino decor. Which of the two ideas do your prefer? Suggestions? Please support and comment! Oh, I looked through and I didn't find it, but if this already has been suggested, please tell me! |

I like the idea of making them amusement items, but I would reduce the uses, to, say, 5. For one, at least in my experience, they seem to be more plentiful this time around than the pet rock, which has 10. This would just make it where it was not just another pet rock. ![]() |

And yet it's not a Pet Rock because it's still craft-able. And Pet Rocks are 1 use now. ![]() |

No support, sorry! Making them toys would require making them sellable, and that's a huge no-no for me, I want my event required items safe from accidental sale! Plus many herbs this event have several uses but dont actually do anything, too - that's RP element of the game, no uses for us doesnt mean the NPC lions dont use them, and for them those uses matter. Fossils are likely, too - they are rocks, it probably takes shamans much work to get to the fossil inside, hence the uses. Im fine with it, personally, I actually like this tiny bit of treating NPCs like players, adds more real feel to the game. ![]() Edited on 02/11/15 @ 10:21:19 by Mad Hyena (#29080) |

I don't really understand why they have uses anyway if they aren't... you know... usable. :S EDIT: And before anyone tries to "correct" me, yes, I know they're used to make Decor. I mean "not usable", as in, it shouldn't matter how many uses they have to make a decor. They're not toys or food, so why do they even have more than 1 use to begin with? ![]() Edited on 02/11/15 @ 17:40:15 by Thalath (#41669) |
