Hmmmm.... How about...
He can see a wolf's past through touch?
He doesn't have emotions?
He shows too much emotion?
He can see glimpses of the future?
He looks like whatever the wolf looking at him wants to see!!!!! So, in reality, he is brown, but when another wolf looks at him, he could look beautiful like brown with gold brindle and green eyes etc.
That would be cool. He could know how to turn it off, but if you're looking for a curse, you could say he can't turn it off.

With curses I usually go more for the macabre... like, his breath can kill plants, or looking into his eyes turns you to stone, or something like that. Or he can be a werewolf! XD Turns into a horrible, hideous monster under certain conditions, like when he gets mad or when the full or new moon is out... I'll put some thought into it tonight.

However the curse is they control anything living, plants and life shrivel and die at his prescence and even though he has it controlled people still fear him. The only thing he wants is really a friend?

I get that. Those were just some random ideas... I was thinking about the lonely part too much X3
Or he could... Burn anything that touches him, but he doesn't shoot flames and stuff. His skin/pelt is just always really hot, too hot for anything to come into contact, but it doesn't radiate. ((Anyone ever read the mortal instruments? ))
He could kill plants... Or he could grow plants that are poisonous only?

These are just ideas. You don't have to take them seriously. ^.^
