Personality: Bones can be aggressive when scared, or when provoked, he is good with other dogs, and kids. A Lot of men scare, him from his past home.
Past: He was neglected and abused, until his owner dropped him off in the middle of the highway, where he was hit by a car. He then walked two miles with a broken back leg, He is still a stray on the streets, that was two days ago and he is now laying in the backyard of an abandoned house, in about 92 degree weather. He is an extremely skittish and will run when people come near him.

Personality: Normally pretty laid back, but he does need his space. Tends to bite if he doesn't want to be messed with. He's inherently a joker and loves to mess with other birds, dogs, and the like, but has become a little jaded as he's been at the shelter so long. He's seen a lot of others come and go and it's taken a toll on him.
Past: Charlie was surrendered to the shelter after his human died of old age, as many macaws end up in this situation because of their long lifespans. Since then he's been at the shelter for 15 years. Charlie has made many friends and lost many, again living longer than most other animals at the shelter.

Personality: Rose is currently a bit of a mystery, she's very sheltered and not very hawk-like, wanting to make friends more than bite and eat any strange thing that comes near her. Though she is very wary of dogs due to her experiences when she first escaped her owner. She tends to get along with other animals well though, especially if presented with a gift first.
Past: Captured at a young age and sold into the exotic pet trade, she has little memory of her mother or clutch-mates, or any life in the wild for that matter. She never learned to fly and grew up feeling very out of place. She lived in a small enclosure on some human's vast estate for the first few years of her life. Bored and searching for something to do in her small enclosure, she eventually figured out how to open the door and simply walked out. Having never learned from her mother how to fly, the young hawk wandered for days, catching what little food she could on the ground from just instinctive motions. A few days out and she stumbled upon an impassable road, where she was forced to either walk across or turn back. Determined to escape, she decided to walk and ended up being hit by a car half way across. She woke up in another cage in a new place, with one of her legs twisted askew. The next week or so was a blur as she went in and out of medical treatment. She's just now being transferred to the shelter to help recovery and is wary of her new surroundings.

Miracle is skittish around other dogs because of her past, but if she trusts you she can be sweet and extremely confident as well as determined. She is highly intelligent and a fun playful dog to be around. She is also tough and loyal only wanting to make people happy.
Past:
Miracle is named because of how she was found by the shelter, she didn't have a place untouched by blood because of her wounds from a previous dog fight. She was against a huge boxer as she was chained down so she couldn't fight back. She whined in pain as a girl picked her up and carried her to the vet and then brought her to the shelter.

Personality: Nebula wears her heart on her sleeve so to speak and cares about everyone, she had always had a way about her of getting the soft side out of even the most ruthless dog. She is also a very intelligent canine, often meaning she could be a bit of a problem with getting bored. Since she spent some of her life on the streets she's rather skittish around other dogs and when the humans leave her she gets a little paranoid.
Past: A warm bed, regular meals and nothing to do but sleep. those were the days, but they are gone. Commando had once belonged to humans, they had always been caring and loving until the day the pup human came. she wasn't allowed to sniff it and when she took and played with a toy rabbit she was cast outside and called a bad dog. How was she to know it was for that thing? This became a normal thing until one day she was left on the park, she waited for days but they weren't coming back. That's when she knew she had to teach herself to survive, still new to it all she soon found the pack. She is three years old but has only spent 6 months on the streets. She has only been in the shelter for a few days.

Personality: Meeko is a rather hostile feline, not wanting much to do with other animals or humans for that matter. Despite her hostile nature she can be broken through to, although it's not a very common occurrence. She's an intelligent and silver tongue cat, often able to talk her way out of any situation she's put in. She had but one thing she loves and that is fish: Anyone that gives her fish is sure to win her favours.
Past: Meeko was originally born on the streets, her mother had escaped the capture of humans. Meeko knew no other life than the streets until one day when she ran into some trouble with a bear. The bear had startled her and as she was standing her ground a human came out, scaring the bear off with a gun and taking her to the shelter. She's been in the shelter for around 4 months.

Personality: Amber is quite a proud horse, although not arrogant, and is often described as a graceful horse. She's most proud of her palomino coat colour due to the fact it's unusual. Don't get her wrong though she's a fun loving horse who's very sociable, although usually only gets attached to one person properly due to her being left at the shelter. Although this mare is an adult she can often be seen to act like a foal around younger horses and loves to do so, especially because it makes her feel somewhat free.
Past: Ambers owners were no longer able to care for her after the loss of a job, so they bought her to the shelter. Amber is currently 5 months pregnant as she was bred by her old owners.

Question. Would I be able to add a hawk as a character? With a good reason as for it being in a shelter of course. Possibly being rehabilitated there or is permanently maimed and unable to go back into the wild?

If not I'll just add something different, just wondering though.

That's fine with me, it would just probably have an Avery of it's own. Some people do keep Hawks as 'pets' so I'm fine with it.
