Thrushclaw steps from the warrior's den, his long legs moving awkwardly, the joints cramped from being curled tight all night. To stretch his body, Thrushclaw arches his back high, and moves his paws far infant of him. After properly taking care of his cramps, he begins to groom fly-away furs, and waits for others to wake.

Violetstep sniffs the air deeply, feeling content as ever in the dewy morning. Her round ears swiveled on her head, listening for signs of any other cats moving about.
"Well," She whispered to herself. "I should probably head off to hunt soon."

The black and white she-warrior yawns, trudging from the warriors den. Her mix-match colored eyes squinting into the sun, shivering from the cold air. "Hello, Thrushclaw... I suggest it may be leaf-fall soon." She mumbles, sprawling onto the ground, tail lashing behind.

Thrush claw looks to Cougarstep.
"Goodmorning." He greets back. "Yes, I suppose so. The weather does seem that way."
He steps closer to her, kindly stopping the cold wind from hitting her. The chill didn't exactly bother him, he actually enjoyed leaf-fall and the cold it brought.

The she-cat flicked an ear, chattering to a few clanmates. "I wonder.. when the hunting patrol is getting back. I'm starving." She mumbled, licking her chest reassuringly and shaking cold from her pelt. "I'm worried. The clan may starve, or catch sickness like last leafbare.."

Thrushclaw licked at his maw, and nodded, feeling hungry himself.
"I do wonder that myself," He agreed. "But don't worry about that. Our med-cat has much better herbs and cures this time, and our hunters are more skilled. I believe we'll be alright." He gave her a small smile and stood to take a walk around camp.

The calico she-cat yawned, bounding from her den, almost slipping off of the HighLedge twice. She drowsily stumbled into the clearing, tripping over her own huge paws. She flopped down near the warrior's den, olive colored eyes drooping sleepily. She jolted as a few flakes of snow hit her pelt, causing her to jump up and tear across the clearing like a startled kit. She straightened herself up, meeting a few amused stares from the clan.

Cougarstep looked up, watching the calico-pelted Morningclan leader stumble about the clearing before settling down. Her ears perked as Daisystar suddenly jolted up from laying in the clearing and zoomed across the clearing and back. She let out a purr at the leader, her eyes shining with amusment.

Thrushclaw looked to his leader, amused. He stretched his spindly legs again, and continued to walk towards his leader.
"Hello, Daisystar," He nodded his head respectfully. "A bit jumpy today, eh?" He swished his tail across the grass behind him.

Cariboutail slowly shuffled his way out of the Warriors den, his back stiff from the cold. With every step he took into the FernClan camp clearing, the fluffy tabby stretched himself out little by little, until he could lean back and forth with ease. It wasn't until he was all straightened out that the Warrior noticed the quiet that was still blanketing the camp; was everyone still asleep? After giving his coat a shake to help warm himself up, Cariboutail trotted over towards the Medicine Den, round sunshine-yellow eyes glinting with a hint of curiosity.

The leader looked up to meet Thrushclaw's gaze. "I guess. This cold is really getting to me.." She mumbled, licking down a few ruffles on her thick coat. "Oh! I almost forgot. We must appoint a new deputy." She purred, hopping back up onto the ledge. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather around the High-ledge for a clan meeting!" She yowled, green eyes watching the clan slowly make their ways over.
"As most of us know, our former deputy, Mintclaw's life has been taken from our recent battle with Swiftclan." She sighed, head drooped. She perked up, eyes gazing over the warriors. "Our new deputy shall be Cougarstep, if given she accepts."

Her ears perked, trotting over to the High-Ledge at Daisystar's command. She sat down, listening to Daisystar's speech. She let out a sigh as the leader mentioned Mintclaw, the lost warrior that had been killed by Reedfeather from Swiftclan over a strip of territory dividing the two clans. She'd perk her ears as the leader called out her name. The black-and-white shecat's eyes glittered. "I..i accept." She purred, sitting up straighter.

He followed his leader's moves, and went to the high rock, sitting in front of it while she spoke. When Cougarstep accepted the new position, he smiled charmingly to her.

Violetstep was just about to leave for her hint when she saw Cariboutail moving behind her. As the cat walked to the Medicine Den, Violetstep called out a soft hello.
"Hello, Cariboutail," She called to him.

Her ears perked, smiling down on the new deputy. "Then it is decided. Cougarstep shall organize a hunting and border patrol next sunhigh. Clan dismissed." She purred, jumping off of the high rock to briefly touch noses with Cougarstep before padding off to socialize with some clanmates.

Shadeclaw woke with a start. OH NO! I missed the announcement for the deputy!, he thought as he hurriedly tried to groom his black tabby fur. After finishing his quick wash, he scrambled outside the warriors den to see all his clanmates giving congrats to Cougarstep. At least I didn't fully miss all of it, he thought to himself. With a shrug he padded over to the fresh-kill pile and selected a starling. "Congrats Cougarstep!" He called out between hungry mouthfuls.

= Softpaw and Fluffypaw =

As the apprentices patroled their borders, Softpaw's ears perked. He beckoned to the patrol to follow, crouching towards a mentor and their apprentice in the tall grass, no doubt trespassing Morningclan cats. The twins blazed off to camp, to chatter to their leader about the trespassers. "(name)star! (name)star! There's trespassers on our territory! They're stealing prey." The leader growled lowly, calling a clan meeting to send a few warriors, including the two twin apprentices. The band of warriors stalked over to the borders, following the scent of the two cats to the camp. They'd stealthily and quietly climb onto the abandoned houses, only to jump onto the closest warrior as their leader let out the battle cry. Almost coincidentally, the twin apprentices landed on Lionclaw, their most hated warrior. In a few heartbeats, the golden warrior vanished under the two furious apprentices. The large tom let out a furious yowl that turned into a horrified screech, flailing and twitching until his eyes glazed over and his breathing shallowed to a halt.
