I would like to see the mane colors work the same way as base colors. I'm kind of getting bored of only getting one color or the other based on what the parents have. Sure it's a good way to ensure your lion's cubs get the color mane you want but doesn't it just get... redundant? Plus with more complex genetics there's a slightly better, more random, chance of rare color spreading into the gene pool. Firey mane, for example, which is spreading so slow that it hurts my brain.

Like the bases manes could be composed of 4 "genetic codes". Color: red, black, cream and gold. Shade: light or dark. Texture: countershaded or solid. Rarity: special or common.
