I randomly started using fonts now. And typing the HTML over and over, whenever I post somewhere, makes me wish we could put certain settings to ease our posting. |

No support because I actually hate it when people change their text's size, colour or font to make it unreadable. ![]() |

Definitely. I totally support! A lot of sites do this, especially forums, where you can save your 'post settings' in a tab. Perhaps it could be done in the forums under a specific tab and it just automatically had it saved in your box for you when you do a quick reply. ![]() |

@Seiden, maybe the staff could code a 'turn off HTML'' button, just like they did with CSS dens? ![]() Edited on 27/12/15 @ 04:51:16 by Karim (#66178) |

The problem with a turn off html button/option is that it isn't just pretty colors and font sizes. You lose out when people embed pictures: ![]() Or links like this... or picture links: ![]() And you can't just turn off HTML, because you either get text that looks like this: Go to this <*a href="http://www.lioden.com/lion.php?mid=72318">webpage<*/a> or text like this: Go to this webpage ...which doesn't give you ANY links at all, or any hint on where the webpage would go to, even if you COULD see it. And just stripping the font options out doesn't help either! A well formatted posts makes strategic use of bolding, italics... as well as trickier things like: headings!
Besides, I am pretty sure that disabling html at the click of a button would be a SUPER complicated matter. edit: Centering doesn't work, haha..nevermind centering! ![]() Edited on 27/12/15 @ 05:45:02 by Jenetikitty(3xPanth/3xSia Ice) (#72318) |

Agreed. I still like my idea even though Seiden disagrees. I just wanted to suggest something suitable for everyone, but after your post, I see that HTML can't be removed. ![]() |

I totally agree with Jenetikitty. Having to deactivate headings, bolding, images and clickable links because of some people wanting to look cool with fancy fonts and colours would be annoying as hell. I'd prefer keep the forums the way they are. ![]() |

It is actually normal and common for forums to have editing options like the ones we have in Journal here on LD. I was honestly quite surprised when I saw that Lioden forums did not have these options, but rather you had to type in HTML code to get them. I support this, because LD needs to work on its forums due to them being a vital part of the community mechanics ![]() |

Y'all need to chill out. I doun't anyone really meant any offense. So jsut take a deep breath. You guys have differnet opinions and you disagree about things. that's okay, that happens :) Y'all just miscommunication. I suspect Seiden meant that it would be annoying as hell to have to code a switch to remove code. Just like Karim likely thought that seiden was saying that people who use fonts are annoying. That's probably not what either of you meant, so there's no reason to get your tails in a knot <3 ![]() |
