I feel like it'd make some sense that kills stay fresh longer buried under the ground. Like, away from the heat and flies and other things that'd make it waste away so fast. I don't mean it'd last immensely longer, not by a huge amount, but perhaps it'd rot slower than usual, like when buried it'd have an extra 4 days or something along those lines. On another note, maybe a way to leave carcasses to dehydrate during a dry season, so it'd basically turn into a jerky of sorts. But with some downsides, like it might not cover as much hunger or could drop their mood a bit from being annoyed by how chewy or something? |

No support because food have a decent amount of time before they expire anyway. ![]() |

True, but I feel like it'd be a bit realistic for it to take longer to decompose, being in a cooler place and such? ![]() |

I support! Even though this might not be a necessary, 'needs to happen now' suggestion, it gives a creative and realistic feel to the food many players keep in their hoard. Let's say the player has a ton of food they aren't gonna use for a bit, but don't want it to just rot while sitting in their hoard, and burying the food won't do anything to help but hide the items. With this suggestion, players with large prides can help their food storage last for a bit longer to feed their lions as maybe the hunters haven't brought back any good carcasses lately or the prices in the TC and Sales have skyrocketed to insane prices again. ![]() |

No support. Micro organisms live in the soil and dirt and their very job is decomposition of natural materials. I highly doubt a lion could or would dig deep enough for one carcass to put it far enough below ground to have the temperature of the meat be lower than what it's like on the surface - it would burn too many calories to be worth it. Also, food isn't hard to come by. 10 days is more than enough time to use your food, in my opinion. ![]() |
