//OOC talk is fine, just keep at a minimum, okay? http://www.lioden.com/lion.php?mid=19547 Asani was lounging on a sun-bleached rock near the waterhole safezone, wondering and waiting and anxious to meet the members of this coalition with whom he had joined up with. Despite all of his prowess and strength, the formerly demon-possessed king was still inexperienced, still new to leading. It definitely wasn't a job made easier by many lionesses' mistrust of him--although he could understand, since sometimes he didn't even trust himself. He wished his queen, Ashanti, was here to comfort him; but her second litter was just been born, and she hated to leave them alone for even a second. She'd been willing enough, though, to come halfway with him, which he was immensely grateful for. Character SheetsNo thread generated. Keupe nodded as he took in the names of the lions gathered around him. They were all older and stronger than him, as he hoped they would be, and even Kuuza had to admit that this small group could be quite formidable if they acted together. He called each of their names in as a way to both commit them to memory and garner their attention. "I'm sure you're all as curious about what I'm aiming for us to do together, so I'll get to the point. Alone we have little support beyond our trade areas and monkeys that give us something we couldn't gather on our own, in return for currency. So what I'm proposing is that when one of us is in trouble we help, for free." He paused for a moment, "How far you'll go is up to you, or the established ruling body that controls your pride. But what I'd like for each of us is to have a few beetles, some food, or even toys set aside for anyone who might need it, to support each other when the land becomes substantially dangerous for everyone, and to be ready to defend the pride members of any king and queen in our group if a rogue lion threatens them." He looked around to gauge the general reaction to these ideas, "That's the minimum I'm expecting, and I feel we could do more, such as sharing knowledge; be it medical, spiritual, or otherwise." The king wanted to mention helping each other strengthen their pride's bloodlines, but as a start up himself he felt it wouldn't be wise to push things so far it looked like he was really asking them to help him for no charge, when it was actually to help everyone within their group. Chokoleti started paying attention roughly half way through Keupe's little speech, As the heir to Keupe's throne, he wasn't sure he liked the idea of 'supporting' lions outside of his pride for free. "I've already found this area for our prides to interact without stepping on anyone's toes, for the most part, and if possible I'd like to see our influence spread to even more lush and vibrant areas of lioden." 0 players like this post! Well, Asani wasn't sure about what the others felt, but he had heard too many cubs crying out hungrily in tougher times, seen too many lionesses becoming thin and exhausted from hunting most of the day. Even in times of plenty it could, sometimes, be hard--running such a large pride naturally meant that resources were limited. "Sounds okay to me...." The idea of giving others his own resources, naturally, would have to take some getting used to--but half the stuff in his hoard at home he wasn't even planning to use. 0 players like this post! Smite listened quietly as the King spoke, soaking the words in. She'd heard stories from the time of Enzo of lionesses starving to death, although her mate had done a good job of fixing this after Stefan's death. Their best hunters had recently passed on, but they were still doing well for themselves in the food category. Perhaps they'd be able to pitch in to those prides who... Weren't. They were okay on the beetle end too, however within the fighting category... They were probably lacking. She sighed inwardly, knowing that Callum had invited a new lion into their pride recently. While she was nice enough, she had little to no muscle and was scared of her own shadow. Cub would be dying soon, leaving them down a hunter again, and their only sub male was a complete idiot and coward. Aside from Cavatina, they weren't exactly threatened, but it would be nice to know that there was backup if that day ever came. "Indeed. That's a plan I'm willing to get behind." Her personal goal was simply to make allies, which she assumed would come in due time. As long as things didn't suddenly go south, she assumed she'd have a good report to bring to Callum when the meeting concluded. Sorry if this is a bit short~ 0 players like this post! Like? |

Ma'ak and Kouga listened to the young king and nodded. "Yes, a fine idea." Ma'ak nodded, fluffing his headdress. He wasn't the richest king with beetles, yet he had some toys and items in his hoard he'd be willing to hand out in times of need. Also as he had groups of lionesses who went to hunt in turns, food was no problem for his pride. There were always carcasses left over and it was tough keeping the stinky hyenas away. Since his girls became picky, only fresh carcasses would be eaten. Ma'ak sighed loudly at his thoughts, cursing his finicky lionesses. Yet then he looked at Kouga and remembered his other stepson, who also only picked out the finest food. Ma'ak wanted allies to know they can depend on him, since the strength of his pride was quite good, his lionesses train themselves a lot, yet there are some who keep away from training like it's a plague of locust. "You have the strength of my pride as your weapon, Keupe, we will aid anyone who is in need." He then looked at Kouga and nodded. "Dear Kings and Queens, I will take my leave for today. My other stepson has his coming of age ceremony tomorrow, and I wish to be there to fulfil it. I will be back the next day." The two lions stood up and bowed to everyone, making their way towards their lands. Kouga had to leave also, because tradition says, submales will have to fight for the throne and the loser loses rank. 0 players like this post! Like? |

The young king smiled as everyone seemed to be in agreement. Personally, he had no trouble gathering anything he mentioned; deep down the concept of sharing his hard earned spoils wasn't something he was wholly comfortable with. But if the others were willing, he could do the same. "As long as we can work together, we'll be a very formidable force." Keupe nodded while his queen bowed from her sitting position at the decorated king and his heir, "I'm not sure what this ceremony involves, but tell your step son I wish him the best of luck in any contest he's going to face." Unlike her king, Kuuza knew male lions in this area normally competed for their position under the kind if looks weren't a priority. Keupe spoke up, "We'll discuss details later, maybe we should all head back to our prides and let them know how things went." He looked at the remaining king and queen, his tone and posture showing it was more of a suggestion than command, "Unless either of you have something to discuss now, rather than wait until later?" From his spot, the cub was staring hard at the group. The more he thought about it, the more against this idea he became. Later on bright eyed cub would figure out how he could use this "coalition" to his advantage, but for now he couldn't stop thinking about how ridiculous it is to have to give away things and get nothing in return. 0 players like this post! Smite bowed politely as the group of lions walked off. "Until next time. I hope everything goes as planned in the ceremony, whatever it may be." There weren't many ceremonies in her pride, come to think of it. She wondered if this was a good or bad thing... She'd talk to Callum about it later. At the moment, she should probably be making her way home as well. She stood up, bowing her head to the four remaining. "Yeah. I should be getting home. Callum might get worried if I'm gone for too long." Probably because there was always the possibility of her having not even made it to the meeting. Too many were dying, and while she considered herself strong enough... Well, Darkness had been their top warrior. Look what'd happened to her. She turned and walked off, not in the direction of the land she was Queen of. She didn't think any of the lions and lioness gathered were murderous or battle-hungry, but hey. She had enough to deal with already- She'd loop back around once she was out of sight to go the correct way home. 0 players like this post! Like? |
