The auctioning of ID's isn't harmful to anyone . They arent selling the banned players items or lions, just the ID, if you don't buy it, it has no effect on you . If you have a friend or trade buddy that you talk to frequently, you can simply look through your friends list, PM's, or threads you've both posted on, you will not lose track of them , same goes for the people you may or may not have blocked, as long as they're still on your block list it doesn't matter, nothing changed for you . Just because their ID changes does not mean they disappear . In the case of a scammer , I very highly doubt anyone will pay to buy a different ID just to scam people, besides IP addresses can be tracked . Regardless of their username or ID changing, even under the circumstance that both change, they can be found and everything they did will still be there and they will still be dealt with . If people want to spend their money on buying the account ID's of banned player's then let them do so . It effects no one but them . As for continuous ID changing, it's highly unlikely that this will happen . Unless someone has unlimited disposable money or GB starts growing on trees, I don't think even one person will bother buying a different ID number through the auction more than once . In regards to those who can't afford to participate in the auction, since there's nothing of value being sold besides the chance of a different , most likely lower, ID number it doesn't matter . Their gameplay wont be hindered by them being unable to buy a banned players ID number .

I just don't see anything wrong with it . It's fine as it is now, there's no need to change anything .

If a new player messages a person for help, so be it, it's not a problem regardless of if they've had an ID change . If the player can't help them they can redirect to chat, the contact staff page, or the mod box and helper hub .
