In a far away land, four prides with extraordinary powers live. They all live according to their territory... The Bevrore Pride: ( Source Not mine, only a reference.) In the towering, icy mountains right beside the Briesie territory is where the pride of snow resides. The Bevrore Pride is full of lions who have mastered the art of Ice summoning and controlling. These felines reside inside a frozen cave sistem that lays inside a giant mountain, which has been baptized Labiritt. They often use their abilities for hunting, or den shaping. They can create spikes of ice, freeze their surroundings in thick layers of ice depending on the time given to do so, and be able to summon blizzards while being in large groups. Pride Customs And Other Facts: When a cub is born, their pelts are completely white and their eyes pinkish. As they grow, their fur starts to gain blue markings. However, there are a very few number of lions whose pelts never shift. They remain white like snow, and these are the ones who become Shamans. Bevrore lions believe their white pelts symbolize a strong bond between the living world and their Ancestors, and that these lions were chosen by them to be the ones who pass on their messages and advice to the pride members. When a cub is born, the King, Queen, and mother of said cub take the cub to a special place at the very top of the frozen mountains, where the Shamans of the Bevrore reside. There, a ritual takes place, in which the Shaman/s call upon the whispering souls nof their ancestors to reveal the traits of the cub. A name of a few, given by the ancestors, is choosen by the mother, and the Shaman tells the king any trait told to him by the whispers that may help the cub on their future job, and are assigned a possible rank by the king from birth. When the ritual happens, Shamans see parts of the future life of the cub flash upon their eyes. But they are prohibited to tell anyone who they would become, even if it's something truly horrible. After a cub, who does not be chosen as a Shaman grows until they are a year and eleven months old, they are assigned as apprentices to either Breeders, Huntresses and or Fighters. (In male cases, Fighter is the only option unless they are chosen as Shamans). Their training goes on until they are two years old, or enter their first heat. (Female cases) It is said that the reason their territory remains icy cold and forever snowy is thanks to the whispering souls of the Bevrore ancestors and deceased members; And that when a lion perishes, the sadness brought upon the pride summons a truly mighty blizzard that howls throughout the mountain's surroundings. When a lion dies, they are mourned for two days. The cold of the mountains prevents the body from decomposing too quickly. But when the second day comes, the close familiars of the lion have to take them up to the top of the mountain, where the Shamans will do a ritual, in which the lion is frozen over completely, exept for the head, and crushed under the Shaman's paws. The body of the lion becomes a powder, which drifts into the sky by a small, chilky breeze summoned by the shaman, and the top of the skull is harvested by the shaman, and put on the walls of anywhere inside the tunnels of the mountain. These Lions have the following features: -Pale blue eyes -Blueish fur and markings -Cold body temperature Most of the animals in the area have unusual white fur, and are mostly deemed as freaks by the lions outside the pride. The Briesie Pride: ) Territory: Beside the chilled land of the Ice Kingdom, is a land of cliffs and mountains. A pride of lions, the Briesie Pride inhabits those lands. They feel at home with the wind in their fur, living literally on the edge. Around the middle of the territory, the vast expanse of mountains and cliffs carved into the land mellows down into rocky hills. Even deeper, it almost completely flattens out into a regular-looking savanna. A waterfall feeds into a watering hole that has a small, lush acacia forest around it. Customs: The Briesie lions have a strong connection to the wind. The Queen and King of the pride are able to use the wind at will often times controlling weather patterns, though only used in minor. Shamans have a different connection with the wind and use it for their spiritual bonds with ancestors. Huntress use the wind as an increase in speed when hunting game on the open savanna. Warriors use their abilities to fight off intruders, by creating gust of wind powerful enough to knock one off their paws. They can also create small vortexes that block paths. Most cubs male or female stay within the pride. The females hold higher ranks than males, and usually become huntress, while males become warriors. When cubs reach the age of 1 they begin their training with older experienced lions. Their training continues until they reach the age of 3. When it comes to choosing a mate, breeding, and the birth of the cubs, it is tradition to have a blessing from the Queen. As it is looked upon as good luck, and that each lion will prosper. Cubs are essential to the life of a pride as they are the next generation. With each birth in the pride a ceremony is held to bless the cubs, and name the official announcing of names for the cubs. A Shaman will bless each cub and ask for the ancestors to watch over them. Even in death none are forgotten. With each member that passes, there is a 4 day mourning period. On the first day each member pays their respects. On the second day the body is adorned with pelts and memebers gather feathers. On the third day the body is buried in a respectable place. On the forth members gather at the highest point, and at sundown they release feathers into the wind in rememberance. The Vuur Pride: ( Source ) Territory: The Vuur Pride lives on the edge of an extremely active volcano, which should be enough to deter any enemies that dare step foot near this place. However, if even that is not enough, being the Fire Pride, they have the power to make it erupt as they wish, and they also have a constant brushfire that lines the border of their territory. You might think that it would be terribly difficult for them to have any prey of any sort, but how wrong would that be. The ash from the volcano after every eruption makes the soil extremely fertile for plants to sprout, attracting many prey animals despite of the danger. The lions themselves live in caves that are bored into the edge of the volcano, which are created as the side is indeed made of solidified magma, so all they have to do is to melt them into molten lava, and there's their cave. Customs: All male cubs are chased out at the age of one by the king to avoid competition most of the time, and if they were to refuse, they would be brutally injured or even murdered by their own father. Females are usually kept in the pride, such that his bloodline would be able to continue. Every 3 months, there is a ritual that occurs, where the shaman, along with the king, queen and the other pride members will cause the volcano to erupt, such that the volcanic ash on the earth can be increased, allowing more plant life to grow. They are kept safe, as the lions make the lava flow beside them, in an area. Along with that, they will cause a few parts of their savanna to be burnt, so the ground will grow even more fertile. If a lion was to pass away, they will do a great ceremony, mourning the loss of that lion for 3 days, before the corpse of the lion is dropped into the magma in the crater of the volcano, returning to the element they were born in. This is also why the shaman's den is the nearest to the crater, so that he/she will be able to connect with them easier, asking for advice from the past ancestors. The Aarde Pride: ( Source ) Territory: The Aarde pride's territory is (to the untrained eye) a regular savanna. Large acacia trees prosper there, and the grass is a lush green. It is no ordinary savanna. The lions who inhabit it can shape the very forces of nature around them - plants. The lionesses there tend to a great wall of thorns outside of their camp, keeping the predators out. Inside of the lush green meadow they call home is a small pond and several lion-grown gardens. Inside of their dens, they grow pitcher and other carnivorous plants to keep the flies away. Their territory is much less diverse and lush then their camp, since the lions don't tend to it as meticulously. It attracts lots of grass-eaters for the lions there to eat. Customs: The king and the queen of the pride usually grow a bromeliad in their fur, symbolizing the connecting with nature that they have. Lead plant-tenders also have this. When a lion turns one year old, their training begins with plants. They have to grow some sort of succulent in their own garden and raise it to full height. This marks adulthood, when completed. The gardens of the pride are watered when needed and are cared for constantly. It puts the powers of the lions there to good use. Due to some unknown reason, the lionesses of the Aarde pride very rarely give birth. King Jata trades herbs and other things to the Vuur pride in exchange for "unwanted cubs" to diversify the blood in the pride. On special ceremonies (such as the birth of royalty or a meeting with another pride), the lions of the pride adorn themselves with the flowers and stems of vines that grow along their dens. Shapa-Male-Vuur King-Meeting Place (Sorry it's so late guys!) Shapa listened carefully to all the kings, and queen which surprised him a little and truly amused him. Getting impatient, he scratched at the earth in boredom, growling silently such that no one else could hear. Feeling that Mwako was done talking (which I think she is?), Shapa stepped up, and boomed in a loud voice, "The Vuur Pride is doing well as usual, no deaths or births in this period since the last meeting. However, today is the day where we'll carry out our ritual, the Great Eruption, to increase the number of prey we have in our territory as well as to connect with our ancestors. Just a little heads-up to the rest of the prides, not to be alarmed or frightened by the eruption." With that, he stepped down, and walked back to his pride. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Jata / Male / King / Aarde pride / At: The meeting place Mentions: Hail, Mwako Dipping his head respectfully to the King Hail, a sad look on his face. So much death had happened in the last few months, and even times where life had not happened. The lionesses in his pride seemed to never have cubs, and Jata was even thinking of trading herbs and other thinks to the Vuur pride, who had the most members of all. Clearing the cluttered thoughts from his mind, he looked back up to Shapa. The other king looked frustrated that he had not gone first, but Jata brushed it off as he approached him. He wanted to speak to the other rulers about the cub problem in his pride. As he sat down beside the others, the black and white male spoke in a hushed tone. "I have a matter I would like to discuss with the three of you later, after the meeting is over." His gruff voice had an unusually deflated tone as he spoke, hoping that at least one of them would agree to talk. Bartering over the price of cubs was not one of the things that Jata wanted to do that day, but it was needed. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hail - Male - Bevrore King - Meeting Place Hail saw the Queen back down, and his gaze met afterwards with the fire king, as he went to speak about the things going on around his pride. So, the Volcano ritual was today huh? He flattened his ears, thanking his territory was not too close to theirs as to recieve one or two large rocks spat by the volcano. Or anything worst. The meeting was just almost over, and the voice of the Aarde king made Hail look up and snap out from his thinking. "Of course." This was his reply, before dipping his head at the other male, and looked expectantly at Mwako and Shapa. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Mwako| Female | Queen | Briesie Pride | Meeting Place Shapa was next to speak, and announced that they would be doing their volcanic ritual today. She sat quietly as she did at meetings such as this, listening to the information and well doings of the other prides. Jata's voice caught her attention and she turned to look at him. "But of course" her soft spoken tone responded at the Aarde King. She remained calm as always even though she could feel the cold stare from Hail. Mwako knew that she was seen as unfit to run a pride, it was against tradition for a female to take over. But seeing as her father only had one living cub, and that cub had been female it was the right choice for him to make. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Shapa - Male - Vuur King - Meeting Place Shapa could see how displeased how Hail had seemed after he had mentioned the Volcano ritual. "Perhaps I should send some of the volcanic rock flying over there..." he snarled. However, he heard what Jata had said, an he hesitated. He could tell at first glance what he wanted to talk about. However, he finally did relent, as te Jata Pride was their neighbor and they did indeed save some of the Fire Lions, as well as increasing the plant growth just by doing their magic. "Ok, sure thing Jata, we'll talk about it later..." he announced. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Jata / Male / King / Aarde pride / At: The meeting place Mentions: Hail, Mwako, Shapa Jata gave a brief "Okay" to the other pride leaders and started leading them to a more private spot on the border of the Aarde pride's territory. He had a small grin on his face, happy that all three of them had agreed to briefly meet with him. At least one would want to trade, right? Jata sat down in a sort of bush-dome that had been created for a meeting to take place for the pride rulers after the regular meeting had finished. He rubbed his head on his side, itching at the bromeliad rooted in his fur. "So, as you can probably see, the Aarde pride has not bore cubs in a while. In the time so close to harvest, I ask if any of you would want to trade." He said softly, careful to not be overheard. As Jata spoke he looked to every leader and waited for their answers. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Shapa|Male|Vuur King|At: Meeting Place|Mentions: Jata, Hail, Mwako "Wait for me here," Shapa ordered to his pride, "you can go and socialize with the other lions from the other prides if you wish, just be patient as I talk to the other kings, and queen." With that, he turned with a swish of his tail, and followed Jata and the other rulers into the dome, and waited as Jata spoke. "Well Jata, I do have a lioness I may be willing to part with..." he whispered. "She's called Coahoma, and you should be rather familiar with her mother. I have tried my best to raise her as one of the Fire Lions, but she seems to be more connected to her Earth roots. Therefore, I'm letting her go with you, and even though I'm leaving her, be sure that if you were to treat her badly, you'll face the wrath of me..." he growled, hoping that the warning would not be ignored and his daughter would be cared well of. 0 players like this post! Hail - Male - Bevrore King - Meeting place Hail followed Jata, and the rest of the reigning lions who finally settled down at a more private place in the meeting zone. He really wondered what did Jata wanted. Very curious, actually. He listened to the other king speak, remaining quiet himself. "Cubs for herbs?" He spoke, raising a 'brow' at the trade offer. "I am afraid I will have to decline, Jata." Hail answered, shaking his head. "There is a fair amount of cubs in my pride, and I do not wish to trade for your herbs." He stated, then moving his look towards Shapa, and watched him speak to Jata. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Mwako| Female | Queen | Briesie Pride | Meeting Place Following the others she sat inside the brush dome listening to Jata speak. She wasn't sure about trading cubs for herbs. Though some herbs might do her pride good. "My apologies Jata, but at the moment Briesie Pride has no cubs to spare. We are in a time of regrowth ourselves and each cub is precious as our pride numbers have dropped" she replied feeling bad for the King. She wished there was something she could do for him, but that didn't seem likely. Lilac Rose | Female | Aarde Pride| Den Quietly the female tended to her large garden of herbs and flowers. Alot of which were rare to find. She had kept the stems, and planted them in the dirt. She used her ability to regrow and reproduced them. By doing this she hoped to find an herb that would help her pride, so that the lionesses might be able to produce cubs. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Jata / Male / King / Aarde pride / At: The meeting place Mentions: Hail, Mwako, Shapa Jata bowed his head slightly at the fire king's offer, then spoke respectfully. "Shapa, I promise you that no harm will come to your daughter. For your generous attitude I promise you a share in the herbs that we harvest this season." His stare remained calm and collected, even when the other ruler growled at him. With that lion, a special touch was required. He turned to Hail, and looked understandingly at him. At least he had listened, and they were already getting a new pride member anyways. "I understand, Hail. Good luck to you." Jata said, a small smile on his face. He turned to Mwako and cocked his head in question. After she finished speaking, he nodded with a small sad look. Hard times were upon the two prides. Jata made a mental note to help out the so called wind pride of the need arises. Turning back to the entrance, Jata looked over his shoulder as he made his way back to his pride. It was a small group, but some were off visiting with other members of other prides. Sitting down he waited for the other leaders so that they could leave. Meetings always made Jata anxious, especially when they were on the border of all four prides. The Vuur pride's territory freaked him out a bit. 0 players like this post! Like? Shapa|Male|Vuur King|At: Meeting Place|Mentions: Jata, Coahoma Coahoma|Female|Rankless (for now)|At: Meeting Place|Mentions: Jata, Shapa Shapa walked over to his pride, motioning for them to begin the journey back to the volcano. However, Coahoma was just about to leave with the others when Shapa halted her. "My daughter," he said, "the Vuur Pride is not where you belong. I have seen you master the art of the Earth, and hardly manage the Fire element. Therefore, I would want to let you go over to the Aarde Pride. That's where you'll be useful, is that ok my daughter?" Coahoma broke into tears, as she leapt into her father's embrace. All that he said was true, and she did enjoy the Earth more than Fire. "I will." she began, as she walked over to Jata, Shapa close behind. Before they left, Coahoma roared over to Shapa, "Don't worry my father! I will visit you soon!" With that, she turned, and followed the Jata Pride. A tear trickled down Shapa's cheek, but he wiped it away, in fear of others seeing it and proclaiming him as weak. "Let's return to the volcano, we still have a ritual to perform." he boomed, as e headed back towards their home. Bounding over to Jata, Coahoma bowed down to him. "My king," she greeted, loving the plants that he had on him. "I am Coahoma, a new member of your pride, and I hope I will serve you well..." 0 players like this post! Like? |

Mwako| Female | Queen | Briesie Pride | Meeting Place After concluding their meeting, Mwako returned to her the pride members. "Let us be off now, there is much to do before the setting of the day" she turned leading the others back towards their home in the foot cliffs of the mountians. There was a lot for her to think about as they made their way back home. The loss of her father had was starting to effect her, though she didn't show it. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Jata / Male / King / Aarde pride / At: The meeting place Mentions: Coahoma Jata gave a brief goodbye to the other leaders and started walking back to his own territory, signalling for his pride to follow. He itched at the plant that was growing in his fur. Seeing a puddle ahead, he carefully held some of the murky water in his mouth and poured it over the plant's roots, caring for it. The large lion watched as the rest of his pride made their way back to camp. He watched with a puzzled expression as a lioness, obviously from Vuur, approached him and explained that she was a part of his pride now. Jata was without words. Wouldn't Shapa have waited another day to tell his daughter about this, and ready her for it? Seeing the lioness made Jata feel a twinge of sadness. It wasn't often that lionesses switched prides. Bowing down in return, Jata spoke in the gruff way that he usually did. "A pleasure, Coahoma. I am sure that we will find you a place in out pride before the sun sets." 0 players like this post! Hail - Male - Bevrore King - Meeting Place Hail started to head outside the bush dome after the leading felines finished speaking. He approached his lions, and called out to them to follow him back to their own territory. As he headed towards the snowy mountains, an odd scent struck his nostrils making him flinch for a few moments. "..." After some time, he just brushed it away and continued to walk away. Amadrek - Male - Loner - Meeting Place He had been watching the pride lions speak after the kings and queen left to talk in private. He had always wondered what being in a pride would be like... Even though, his mother forbid him from going anywhere near the prides. She said he should never have been born; That his existence was the produce of lust and recklessness. Lions from diffrent prides shouldn't mate. Not without being accepted as official members of the opposite price and vice versa. Let alone a King, and a lioness from another pride. However, his mother never told him what king of the prides sired him. For all he knew, his father could have passed away and he never got a chance to meet him or anything at all... Amadrek stopped as he noticed a large ice lion look towards him, and instantly fell into a crouch, to prevent himself from being seen. Quiet and unmoving, Amadrek waited until the Bevrore lions walked away, and so did he. 0 players like this post! Like? |
