Have you ever dreamed of a world beneath the water? Any water? Oceans, lakes, and rivers. What about the people that live in those worlds? The naiads, the nereids, the oceanids, the merfolk, the selkies, the kelpies?
There is a place where all of these species are united. A secret, hidden estuary where saltwater and freshwater mix. The estuary itself is in the center of a sunlit forest, with a channel leading to the ocean, a river flowing into it. Surrounding the estuary are ponds and tidepools.

(Right now, this doesn't have a plot. I will try to add one, and suggestions for one are welcome. You may also roleplay as a human who has stumbled upon this world and if you do so, you may undergo a ceremony that allows you to slowly undergo a transformation into an underwater species or you may stay a human and try to live alongside peacefully. WARNING: If you choose the latter, aquatic characters may try to drown a human character. Because they think it's funny. Among other reasons.)

Name: Askara

Age: She looks to be about seventeen or eighteen, but she is probably several centuries old. She doesn't remember how old she is anymore.

Species: Naiad

Gender: Female

Personality: Aska is several centuries old, and didn't emerge from the water very long ago. She's a little distant, but kind when it comes down to it. She gets lost in thought easily. She drifts around rather dreamily, sometimes not even hearing when another speaks to her. It can make her appear cold.

Appearance: She has long, wavy, pale lavender hair that floats around her as if she were still under water. She is petite and slender, but is not without curves. She has light gold skin tinged with blue. She has iridescent scales of a pale purple/green trailing the outsides of her feet, calves, legs, sides, the tops of her arms and shoulders turning transparent as they climb her neck, going up the sides of her face and ending on the tops of her high, pronounced cheekbones. She has large silver eyes with just a touch of blue. Her eyes, made to see underwater, are somewhat larger than those of the creatures who live above land, giving her face a somewhat unearthly appearance. Her ears are made of translucent, dark green webbing. The tips emerge from her hair. They are somewhat long, and add to her unearthly beauty. Her hands and feet have the same sort of webbing and are much longer than those of humans, which, to some, detracts from her beauty. She has a similar sort of webbing emerging from her back, like wings, but it is much more delicate than the webbing on her hands, feet and ears. She has sharp, hollow canines, like those of a vampire. Her race of naiad sometimes drinks the blood of humans, though more often it is the blood of fish, which is significantly cooler than that of a human or other mammal. The canines can also inject a paralyzing venom. She has a long, ugly scar starting at the right sight of her collarbone and ending at her left shoulder, caused by a human who tried to spear her. {He quickly met his end.} She wears a pale blue, sheer sleeveless dress, with heavier, silkier fabric over her feminine areas. The dress ends about three inches above her knees.

Other: She was born in an estuary, where freshwater and saltwater meet, and her people were plentiful. Around 200 years old, she began to crave solitude and wandered deeper into the freshwater, away from her people and the merfolk in the deeper ocean. She settled for a while with a group of freshwater naiads, before heading up a stream that eventually led to a large pond in the middle of the forest. For hundreds more years, she reveled in the solitude of that pond. At some point, loneliness set in, and she wandered from the water, in search of companionship. She has sharp, hollow canines, like those of a vampire. Her race of naiad sometimes drinks the blood of humans, though more often it is the blood of fish, which is significantly cooler than that of a human or other mammal. The canines can also inject a paralyzing venom. Now she begins her journey into the forest.
