After getting four out of five litters with just one cub, I have a suggestion regarding litter numbers: In my opinion, to be a bit more realistic, in the breeding area anyway, first time mothers, lionesses older than 12, low fertility and hungry(20%) or low mood should be what produces one cub, otherwise it should be two to four, two being the most common number. In my experience, both on this account and my main, I get a larger percentage of one cub litters. This makes breeding projects very frustrating. |

I might just be speaking from emotion, but honestly most of the girls in my Pride have given birth to 1 cub/litter (I just did an ultrasound and 3 out of my 4 pregnant girls are pregnant with 1 cub...and they have high fertilities). I have known that felines give birth to many babies in a litter. Isn't it actually a little weird for only one baby to be in a litter? I agree that having a high percentage of 1 cub litters is very annoying. However, on the flip side, it would be very annoying for VLF to have a higher chance for producing only 1 cub litters. It usually takes at least 100 times to get a very low girl pregnant, and for her to only have 1 cub every single time would be frustrating. I know it's part of the game, and that these are the things that Grain of Paradise and the like are for, but...yes, I have been frustrated lately with the 1 cub litters. So...support. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 28/03/16 @ 17:23:07 by Raven (#59350) |

It's been stated multiple times by admins that 1 cub litters are the most common. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that fertility didn't have any influence on litter size? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Now because of this thread I am looking up a lot of things...here is what I am learning -Nutrition of the female influences fertility and litter size. So, this would make sense for Riverkit's point that hunger level influences litter size. -Average number in a lion litter is 3, with the typical range being 1-6 cubs. -If the litter survives, mothers wait a long time before next breed. If the litter does not survive, however, the mother will go right back to it to try to conceive another litter. IDK if these facts are important and I know that Lioden is nowhere near realistic to actual lions but...I feel like the percentage for at least 2 cubs to a litter should be increased by just a tad, unless the female falls under the categories that Riverkit mentioned. 0 players like this post! Thank you Raven. I would be happy with an increase in percentage of two cub litters after the lioness's first litter and a decrease in percentage around 12 years of age. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I think 1 cub litters are fine. I mean technically there are items you can earn to increase litter size if you don't want only one cub. the cub market sucks as it is if we had 2 cub litters more common then 1 cub litters then more unwanted babies would flow the market. Cubs that nobody wants unless for fodder. Yes lions can have 1-6cubs. We don't want 6 cubs. Again, the market. Now with the whole comment "killing the litter would bring the lioness back into heat", I see this a lot. I won't ever support it. Here's why, Say someone has a leopon. Breeds her. No leopon cubs. If they kill the litter and she is sent back into heat leopons would flood the market easier. Actually, because of the lion scrotum all mutations would. yohimbe bark shortens cooldowns, 1 day per bark. You can also require these items for free during an event just like the grain of paradise and the buffalo scrotum. I get the who breeding project thing. I have one of my own but it's just not a good idea to up percentage for 2, 3, and 4 cub litter size. So now let's talk about fertility affecting litter size. Pros and cons. I think this is a cool idea but I still don't support. But it might take to much coding for search fertility. If someone who has a VL fertility wanted a higher chance of getting a four cub litter all they would have to do is buy chastberries from the snake and boom they can raise the percent and potentially get more cubs. Yes in real life fertility can have effects non litter size but this is a game. A game where the market already is horrible and cubs just sit. In real life cubs die of diseases, accidents, etc. Which would keep the cub population down. Which we have brood mother's who prevent these things from happening. So a rundown. Increasing the chance for 2 cub + litter isn't a good idea. - unwanted cubs flooding more and more into the game - less need for breeding items like the grain - fertility effecting cub size could be a good idea but people can change fertility so.... I don't like the idea. I'm sorry. I just don't see increasing 2 cub litter size percent a good thing overall. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Well, this was mostly a post based on wishful thinking brought on by frustration at getting six cubs out of five bred females in hopes of getting a quad panther/siamese. Frustration because it happens to me a lot. 0 players like this post! Like? |
