Thor smiled at Rocky's comment, and the smile only grew when Nazar appeared next to him. He thanked the larger male, returning the bump with a nudge of his own, his tail wagging behind him. "How was it out there this morning?" He asked, wanting to know , so he could decide who to send on a larger hunt later. The cooler weather was perfect for a hunt, but he hoped the dampness wouldn't give way to rain anytime soon.

Modi hadn't noticed the other dog before she barked. He started a bit, and turned toward her quickly. It took him a moment to respond with "I..I think so." He stepped out from behind the cover of the bushes, sitting a bit closer to the female. "Who are you?" he asked "Do you live here? Are there others?" his head was cocked curiously as he awaited answers.

Velvela listened to the loner's answer, twitching her ear to the side slightly when she introduced herself. She remained completely silent until she finished speaking. "Unfortunately, I can't let you go that easily. I do need questions answered. So, I'll repeat my question: why are you here?" Sage could be some spy from another pack, for all she knew. As she waited for an answer, she looked over at Emma, who had been silent the whole time. The poor saluki looked scared and guilty, probably for getting her friend in trouble. "How long have you and Sage been friends?" She asked her, her tone slightly more gentle than when she had spoken to the loner. The way she was looking at Emma still showed her that she wasn't happy with her at the moment, though.

Sage narrowed her eyes as the Delta refused her answer and went on to question her and Emma. "I'm just a loner" Sage muttered, even though the Velvela had turned to Emma at this point. She never wanted this to happen, she never wanted to get Emma in trouble, and especially not with a respected dog like this! The anger Sage had felt before subsided, overtaken by panic that began to claw at her chest. Sage didn't show her worry, and rather simply let her hackles relax, just a bit of fur was left bristling over her shoulders.

Emma looked up to her delta, but kept her gaze away from Velvela's eye, not wanting to challenge her anymore than she already had. She understood Velvela's reason for anger, and had no excuse for being with Sage. She spoke softly to the Delta, "A long while, six months at least." Her voice was hesitant as she spoke, trying to say the right things to help her friend out of this mess. "We don't meet that often" She added quickly before Velvela could speak, "J-just about once every season" This was true, mostly. If the friends felt it a good idea they would meet more frequently, but then again Emma was a great lier. This was one talent Emma hadn't yet lost from pup-hood. But under this wolf-dogs Harsh tone and stare, She didn't know if she could keep it up. Every talent has its complement of a flaw, at least that's what Emma's father had told her before he passed away, and with being a great lier Emma often felt horrible after telling one and that gave away to her admitting the truth later on. Emma turned her gaze back to Velvela and brought up the courage to look her in the eye, not in a challenging way. Her gaze was full of apology, even though that didn't make it any better.

Dakota slowed down until she reached a stop, sitting on her haunches and lolling out her tongue panting slightly getting her breath back before standing back up and shaking her now messed up fur out. She turned around and started making her way back to camp still lolling out her tongue and panting slightly but was now properly awake and no longer felt tired.

Velvela ignored Sage's muttering, keeping her eyes on Emma. She listened to her answer and remained silent for a few moments, thinking it over. "Once a season?" She asked, the tip of her tail twitching ever so slightly. "You two seem very close for a pair that doesn't meet very often. Are you sure you haven't been in contact more than just once a season?" Her tone was eerily calm as she spoke to the saluki, and she looked Emma right in the eyes, as if she could see right through her. If there was one thing Velvela was good at, it was getting the truth out of others. Her gaze never left Emma as she waited for her answer, her amber eyes narrowed and watching her facial expression carefully.

He cocked his head slightly and thought for a moment. "As you can probably tell its miserably cold and damp," he said with a small laugh while shaking out his fur. " But uh... Junko said she could smell a small herd of deer not too far away from camp, but every other animal seems to be hiding in their dens."

Sage looked at Emma, curious weather she would tell the truth or not. She locked eyes with her for a swift moment, then turned to study Velvela's posture. Sage was a dog who learned from others. The stance she had used earlier when meeting Velvela was one she had acquired from a hostile border collie that attacked her while out by a large ditch. Velvela's posture was more thought-out. She looked like a highly respected, yet intimidating, dog. She was disguisingly calm and Sage could tell she was demanding by the way she questioned them, or at least that's how it came off to Sage.

Emma pawed at the ground nervously for a moment and kept her gaze to the ground before looking back up to Velvela. The delta's eyes were expectantly gazing at her. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. The lump in her throat made panic swell inside her, and she could do was struggle not to run away from the Delta's gaze. A different voice then sounded beside her, "We meet when we can" It was Sage, her voice was clam like Velvela's had been, maybe not as eerie. Emma she guessed that Sage was trying to copy her as she did with many others. Sage looked into the Delta's eyes, a harsh cold look flickered in her gaze, as if she expected Velvela to challenge her answer. But how could she? The answer Sage had revealed was the truth inside and out, though it was a bit vague.

Velvela looked over to Sage when she answered the question, and she huffed softly, thinking it over for a few moments. "Well, to be honest, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with you two." She said, her voice still calm but authoritative. She slowly began to pace around the two, keeping her head lowered and ears pricked in a very wolfish way, as if she were circling prey. It was obvious that the two were good friends, and Velvela didn't really want to separate them. But, Sage was still a loner, and she didn't seem that friendly, at least not in her opinion. This was going to be hard. Finally, she stopped pacing and stood in front of the two, her head raised and posture straight. "I won't tell our Alpha, at least not now." She said before shooting a glare at Sage "But only for Emma's sake." She added icily. She could care less about what happened to Sage, but Emma was a good Lota, and had helped to heal her warriors and even Vela herself in a few cases, she would've hated to see her demoted, even if she was friends with a loner. "As for you, Sage, you can stay in the territory, but only right here, by the river. If I find you any closer to the camp, I won't be as forgiving. Is that clear?" She commanded, her hackles raised slightly to show that she wasn't joking. 'I can't believe I'm letting her stay, I'm putting my own pack status in danger. They both owe me big time for this.' She thought.

Thor nodded, humming to himself. "Perhaps I'll only send out a small party then" he said "a deer would do us good". He sat, his tail thumping the ground lightly. "I might just have to tag along. I've grown rusty since my time as an Eta" he chuckled, shaking his head a bit. "I do hope it doesn't get any wetter than this, never been a fan of the rain.

He watched as she laid down, feeling a bit more comfortable now that she was more on his level. "Well... I'm Modi and I didn't know anyone lived here. Whatsa territory? Is that what this place is?" He thinks he could remember his parents saying something about that before they left, but he wasn't sure. He wondered what it was like living with a bunch of other dogs, and another question bubbled up "Whats it like? Can I live here too?"

Sage let out a long sigh of relief, She was disappointed that she had lost some territory privileges that she had set herself, but she owed the world to Velvela for keeping their secret. "Yes that's Clear, and Thank you," She huffed gratefully, walking closer to Velvela and licking her maw to show her submission and thanks. Sage knew that from now on she would have to be more careful with how she and Emma planned their meetings, the next dog to stumble upon them might not be as generous as Velvela was currently. She stopped licking her muzzle and took a step back, keeping lower to the ground than Velvela to show she didn't think anything more of herself over the Delta. She let her long pink tongue loll out of her maw. She bowed her head once again to Velvela, assuming she would be leaving soon.

Emma was as grateful to Velvela as Sage, letting her head lower to show her gratitude and thanks. She turned to Sage, figuring she would be leaving with Velvela, yet returning to meet Sage again soon. "Goodbye," She said, bowing her head to the beauceron, Sage did the same. Emma's head swiveled back to look at Velvela expectantly, waiting for her to give the word to head back.

"Well for your sake I hope the weather does get dryer, wouldn't want our dear beta to get sick," he said with a small laugh. Though he wanted to help his early start had made him pretty sleepy. He yawned softly," Well if you need me , ill be in my den." He said before giving Thor a soft bump on the shoulder and jogging off to his warm den.

She shook her head with a small laugh, he was truly adorable. " Well Modi, a territory is an area where a group of animals live,hunt, and defend if necessary. It's a pretty good setup, you don't have to fend for yourself, other dogs help you if you need it." She stood slowly, and began to stretch out her stiff muscles. With a slight yawn she said" Though its not up to me to decide if you join, I don't think Connor wont let you join." She grabbed the rabbits she dropped and brought one to Modi. "Take this as a sort of offering, like I said I highly doubt Connor would deny a pup. But its good for your image if you were seen helping me. So if you ready, follow me and I will take to my alpha."

Velvela nodded to Sage, giving her a small huff of acknowledgement when she stopped licking her muzzle. "You need to be more careful about your meetings, if the Alpha or Beta catches you, you're dead." She warned the loner before starting to walk away, flicking her tail to the side as a signal for Emma to follow her. She remained completely silent until Sage was out of sight. "Tell me what you know of this loner. Do you think she could be a threat to the pack? Is she powerful enough to take down a high-authority dog, like me, for example?" She asked as they walked. She was asking such a seemingly random question because she wanted to make sure Sage wasn't here to catch the Alpha on his own and assassinate him. She knew they couldn't be the only pack around, so eventually they'd find enemies.

Sage watched the two leave, and turned to go back to her temporary den right out side the territory. Her small tree den at on the border line, just far enough away from the Pack's territory to have an excuse if she was seen there. he crawled inside and curled up, her tail tucked neatly over her nose. The hollow tree stump was small, but just large enough for a beauceron herself. She lay there, unable to fall asleep after her skirmish with Emma's pack mate. The voice of the Delta still rung in her head over and over. "if the Alpha or Beta catches you, you're dead." A shiver ran down Sage's spine as she recalled Velvela's words of warning.

Emma followed Velvela alongside her until a question sprung up. As she walked Emma cocked her head, thinking about how to answer Velvela's question. "Sage may seem tough, and might have a threatening stance, but I do not believe she would ever be the first to attack, nor would she try to finish a fight. She is strong, but not willing to hurt anyone, she is better at bluffing. I do believe that she could be a worthy opponent to a high ranked dog as yourself. Though she could not take one down....she has had no training besides self taught skill....." She finished, still deep in thought, trying to think of more to add.

Thor laughed a bit, rolling his eyes. "Go get your rest" he said fondly, watching as the male made his way back to his den. He waited a bit, before continuing on his stroll around, for lack of anything better to to at the moment. He would gather up a hunting party just as soon as he finished his make-shift patrol.

Modi listened and nodded along. It sounded nice. It would be a good change if he didn't have to hunt for himself or protect himself. "Thank you" he said, grabbing a rabbit by the scruff. He thought it was nice of her to help him like she was. He found himself a little nervous as they walked. He wasn't quite sure what an Alpha was, but it sounded important and a little scary.
