Personality:
Cold and curt, Maxie's someone who gives the cold shoulder to just about everyone. If you don't have anything for him, he doesn't want anything to do with you. He's a bit stuck-up, sometimes self referring as "The Great Maxie," and being very prone to preening. With interpersonal reactions not involving a nice, scientific discussion, his skills in speech quickly dissolve and leave him an awkward mess. He doesn't take his own failures in stride, and usually beats himself up for it, but thankfully they are few and far between.
Appearance:
Slim and more of a twig than a young adult, Maxie is hilariously tall, a little over six feet. He is very pale, and tends to sunburn easily. His face is rather gaunt, marked by his thick-rimmed glasses and black eyes. He prefers wearing red and black, Turtlenecks and long sleeves are a constant on him, and he looks rather formal at all times. People sometimes mistake him for a teacher. His hair is dyed firetruck red.
Back Story:
Born to a rich family, Maxie's father is a successful CEO, meaning that Maxie has practically everything he can dream of. He grew up in a mansion, with frequent vacations to very exotic locales. Since a young age he had enough books to keep him occupied, and he preferred them to other people. His haughty personality developed from long years of being top of the class in all subjects (minus gym and other extracurriculars not relating to the big 4).
The one person that had been with him since childhood was Homura, who was the one person he could drone on to about geology and watch nature documentaries with and remain enthusiastic.

Very energetic, Homura is extremely curious and suffers in school, having to sit for massive amounts of time. He'd much rather be in the field and learning hands-on. He has quite an interest in taxidermy, much to his parents' horror, and was kept hidden until going into a dorm. With his rich friend, Homura finally got the pets of his dreams, and loves taking care of them, even Maxie's pet beardie .
Quite the energetic person, Homura loves to socialize and flutter around social groups, being almost a fly on the wall and somewhat friend-to-all.
Appearance:
Practically a picturesque woman, Homura has a curvy frame that is unmistakably female. His skin is a bit darker than most people of Japanese descent, due to a lot of outdoors walking. His hair reaches his waist, and has been recently dyed bright red. He is very meticulous about his appearance, with plucked eyebrows, shaved legs, the whole nine yards, and wears just a little makeup.
Back Story:
The only child to two descendants of proud Japanese immigrants, Homura's life was just average. Despite his parents' best efforts, he never was a straight-A student, and they breathed a sigh of relief when he got into Mountain View with the bare minimum (and some persuasion by Maxie's father).
For a long time, since childhood, Homura felt comfortable being Maxie's friend, trusting the boy with secrets. As such, Maxie's the only person who knows that he's transgender, as Homura is afraid of coming out to the world at large.
