CloudStar sighed, watching the kit. When RootKit left her den, she stood and exited as well. 'BlizzardThroat would be a good mentor' she thought, fighting to the urge to see if AlderFall was safe in camp and instead focus on who would mentor RootKit

Blizzardthroat

The she-cat was grooming her fur calmly when she noticed Rootkit saunter out of Cloudstar's den. Huffing in amusement at the kit's adorable display of pride she scanned the camp for activity before drifting off into a light nap.

Alderfall

Alderfall growls, tired of doing nothing. He stood up abruptly, only to huff in pain. Wincing at each move he makes, he sneaks out the den, limping to the closest pond to clean himself. It might open up the wounds again, but he didn't care. He had to look good for Cloudstar.

Quickstep smiled at Rootkit and meowed, "You look happy". She had noticed that she would probably be the one who stays in camp and watches the kits for a while. "Whats the occasion?" She said with a hint of a chuckle in her mew.

CloudStar sat off on her own, her head raised a bit as she stared over her clanmates, trying not to focus on AlderFall. It took a lot of her strength to ignore the pain he must be in, but she couldn't let her worries distract her from her duties. Her gaze rested on BlizzardThroat, napping, for a moment as she decided she would be the best mentor for RootKit. She would talk to the warrior when she woke up, she decided

Alderfall

Alderfall wades into the water, licking his fur to get all the blood off. Some scabs weren't healed, and opened up, but he could hardly focus on the pain.
"We'll that was one hell of a fight."
Alderfall jerked around, scanning the clearing. "Who's there?"
He sees his brother walk out from the tall grass, sitting near the edge of the water.
"What are you doing here," Alderfall says harshly.
His brother licks his paw. "I'm sorry. Okay, I said it. I never wanted to believe in Starclan. Seeing them, just.. made me come back, you know."
He ducks his head, wading into the water. His brother paws at the dry blood, helping Alderfall.
Alderfall was stunned. "Wow. I can't believe my ears."he pauses. "You're on the wrong territory still though."
His brother smiles, but it made Alderfall uncomfortable.
"Can't make it obvious this time, little bro."
Alderfall turns, but his brother slams his paws down on him, and he goes under water.

"An apprentice you mean?" She laghed, "So your going to become an apprentice? Well let's see what your mentor will have to work with. Can you show me a hunting crouch?" She asked curling a tail around her paws. She smiled up at Cloudstar for a moment then turned back to Rootkit.

Blizzardthroat

Groggily the she-cat wakes up from her nap, and scans the camp. Stretching her neck she tries to look into the medicine cat's den. She should be able to see Alderfall's sleeping form from this angle, a shiver runs down her spine as she spots the empty nest. "That mouse-brain!" She hissed passively, she was more worried than angry that a cat in his injured state would go wandering on his own. Hauling herself to her paws she made a beeline for Cloudstar's den. Once at the entrance she meowed loudly, "Cloudstar? Cloudstar we have an issue," before moving into the den, "Alderfall has left the camp, he's injured. I don't think he should be out alone..." She trailed off uncertain. Lashing her tail she worried about the warrior, he could be in danger. And in that case, one cat blindly chasing after him would do no good.

CloudStar glanced at her and twitched her tail, thinking of what to do. "Well, I cant go. I just got back to camp and I'm tired. Misty, though she's new, seems like she's making her way into camp, perhaps she wouldn't mind helping to find where he went?" she mewed, her gaze seeming distant as she spoke directly to BlizzardThroat. She didn't seem to notice that, as she was speaking, Misty entered camp with three mice, dangling by their tails, in her jaws

Alderfall

Alderfall struggled, losing air. He was too weak to pull himself back up, so he digs his claws in and tries to walk away from his brother. The water was getting higher, and he couldn't swim, so he hoped his brother would give up soon.
"Come on, Alderfall. You can join Starclan, move on with your life. Oh yeah, but people will forget about you." His brother shoves down harder.
Alderfall had an idea. He was about to pass out, so all he had to do was let go of his instinct, and stop moving. If we goes completely still, he could float to the top, and he'd have to breathe in slowly enough that his brother didn't notice.
Letting go, his body sinks a bit, and his brother let's go. Alderfall floats up, breathing extremely slow as his nostrils got above water.
Fang looked at him. "Lucky father is there with you, since I killed him last night."
His brother goes towards shore, and Alderfall couldn't swim, so he just floated, his heart beating fast.

Blizzardthroat
Dipping her head respectfully, Blizzardthroat turned around and bounded over the the she-cat that had just re-entered the camp.
"Impressive, " Blizzardthroat purred, nodding to the mice, "I think you're a natural at this. I was wondering if you'd mind heading back out with me. I'm trying to find Alderfall, he slipped off into the forest without any company. And... I'm not the best at tracking ," she mumbled quietly, annoyed she had to admit her weakness. But it was for the best, a clanmate might need her help.
