Gingerly sitting down away from Soulstar, Clearfox avoided eye contact. She breathed softly, her lungs much better than they were a few moons ago. Staring at her paws, she didn't know what to say, so she waited for him to speak.

Poppyfreckle gave out a purr of laughter, " yep! There sure is!" He meowed enthusiastically as he dipped a paw in the very cold water. " are you ready to go back?" He meowed tilting his head as he looked over at Riverclan territory. " i see some marigold and i can show you the Windclan border" he meowed waving his tail.

Her ears pricked. The guilt and shame she felt magnified, and tears threatened to make way.
"I.. I didn't think I could be a good mother. I thought it would be best to leave them, so they could have a better future without me. After I left, I knew you wouldn't want to see my face ever again, so I stayed away."
Tears came. She couldn't hold them. "I was chased by dogs, fought rogues, lived out in the rain. There was nothing more I wished than to be back at home. Then I found a kitten over near a Twoleg place. It was dead. The little thing died from starvation."
Clearfox choked. She let out a whine. "It snapped me out of my selfishness. I couldn't live with my beautiful kids not having a mother, it was wrong of me to leave in the first place. I know now how much I hurt you, I dreaded coming back to see you. You were the one who deserved everything in the world, you're the best leader our kits have. I'm sorry for leaving you. I... I truly am.. I'm sorry Soulstar..."
Clearfox cried softly, covering her face with her paw. A weight lifted from her chest. She waits in nervous hope for her mate to reply.

"With you gone I was hollow, I could only go through the motions, I didn't enjoy it anymore. The only thing that kept me alive was our kits.. And knowing that I couldn't let them lose another parent..." he lashed his tail, all his frustrations welling up. "I hated you for so long but the moment you came back I felt so happy..." he was crying. And I realize now it's because I was looking for you, but no one is like you. You're a kind cat, a ferocious protector but above all... You're... The one I want to spend the rest of my life with and I was so scared Clearfox.. That I'd never see you again..." He moved to her side, pressing his face into her shoulder. "Don't ever so that again," he mumbled, shaking as his tears soaked her fur.

Poisonkit nodded, wondering what Windclan territory looked like, imagining long, spread out plains that stretched a long ways before they ended at a point. After a few seconds he turned his head towards the medicine cat, curiosity gleaming through his eyes. "What's Marigold?" He asked. The word was somewhat new to him, he had heard Poppyfreckle mention it a few times before, but he never got to see what it looked like.

Poppyfreckle looked down at the kit and continued to talk " marigold is a herb that can be used to treat infections, it can be found near kittypet homes or near the river" he meowed flicking his ear as he decided to pick the kit up and take him over the border.As he dipped a paw into the cold water he decided to go a bit deeper into the water and to let it go up to his chest floof, as he put the kit on the ground he headed over to the marigold.

A relief that couldn't be put into words came over Clearfox, and she cried into Soulstars fur as well. "I promise.. I promise... I promise.." she meowed, her nose rubbing his fur and comforting him.
Those moons of being alone and sadness can now be forgotten in the past, she thinks. At last, now I can make things right, and be the mother my kits need.
Purring, Clearfox doesn't let go of her mate. Now they were bound by love that was stronger than anything.

Poisonkit scampered after the medicine cat, the explanation of the herb was long and only a tad confusing, but at the same time it interested him. When he reached Poppyfreckle, he looked at the yellow-orange flowers that stood out in the grass and other plants surrounding it. "Aren't there other herbs?" He asked, beginning to feel asking too many questions was becoming a habit.
