The rich, the poor, the selfish and the helpless. They all gather in the single, isolated school meant to hold and keep them from the rest of the world. When a pair of entirely opposite students are put in the same dorm as roommates, one the notorious heir to a world-renowned mob and the other a feeble boy barely considered middle class, the school body hopes that the relationship will turn out to benefit the both of them. However, neither of them can bring themselves to like the other. How are they supposed to bring out the best of one another when they can't even properly share the same room?

[History]
As a young boy, Xavier grew up in an abusive household. His parents were both alcoholics, and the fact that he was born deaf didn't help their already intoxicated fury sprees. Because they hardly ever were able to make ends meet, and he was forced to sit out on the streets and beg. His father found the act of humiliating his son entertaining, and his mother was never brave enough to save him. His life of poverty invited lots of bullying, and the scars from those days still taint his body.
At the age of 8, he quit talking. Since then, he has only communicated through nonverbal ques and written responses. He was never educated in sign language, so he taught himself how to read lips, which he can do fluently.

[Personality]
Xavier is the embodiment of a deer; skittish, cautious, and silent. He has difficulties making friends due to his shy nature, but he can actually be quite compassionate to those that are close to him. He does not like physical contact, and startles very easily. He has his moments where he can be slightly more aggressive, but his passive nature tends to win the majority of the time. His sketchbooks are personal to him, and he uses them for himself or special situations only. He always carries a journal and pen with him, and also wears a braclett on each hand, one saying "Yes" and the other saying "No."

Jin was relieved to find that Xavior was actually rather good at typing on the screen, and that his assumption that it would be more quick and efficient was correct. He couldn't help the brief squeeze in his chest at the sight of that childlike surprise, either, a reaction akin to when he gushed over baby animals as a little kid. Xavior honestly reminded him of a bunny, or a deer maybe. Something that acted solitary but had somewhat dramatic reactions towards what seemed like the most insignificant things.

He reached to ruffle the kid's hair, which was surprisingly soft to the touch, like an adult might do to a child as praise. Thankfully his hands had cooled down since his previous, impatient outburst, and were only slightly warm, like a cooling coffee mug.

"No prob," he answered curtly, letting his hand drop back to his side and stuffing it in his jacket pocket. "You can keep that, by the way. Unless you want your own. Oh," he paused as if remembering something. "If you don't want the phone part of it, there are things that just type." It felt awkward, being so generous, especially since he had never really done so before. It was enough that he wasn't acting as high and mighty as he usually did, and it felt strange.

He glanced out the single window in the room for a moment, noticing the ground outside still wet from the brief shower. Shallow puddles had formed in dips in the ground, and he could see branches bouncing as left over rain drops slid down their leaves. He had excellent eyesight to go along with the rest of his heightened senses, though it was a pain in bright areas. His eyes were extremely sensitive in certain situations. "So..." he finally said, tearing his eyes away from the post-storm scene. "Anything you feel like doin'? It's kinda stuffy, sitting in this little room."

Xavier had momentarily turned his attention back to the phone, utterly enthralled by it. He was exploring the buttons, figuring out how to completely work the device. It was so high-tech. He’d definitely have to play around with it some more.

The sudden pressure of fingers in his hair made him freeze. He had no time to react, to recoil and reel away from the contact; the ruffling of his tresses was over just as quickly as it had started. His eyes were starting at the floor, his heart fluttering in his chest. The physical contact was smooth on Jin’s part; he was able to sneak in the touch without really getting caught. Usually Xavier was more observant about close proximities, but the handheld distraction had pulled him away from the reality of the moment.

After feeling the fingers calmly retreat from his hair, he anxiously clicked the phone off, his fingers clenching around the plastic. The warmth of the hand in his hair had him on edge. It reminded him of a time a bully had pushed him to the ground, just to grip him by the hair and force him to look up at his attacker. The memory sent an unwelcome shiver slithering down his spine.

His gaze glanced up in time to catch Jin speaking, and his eyes translated the words his lips were forming. He was saying that he could have that phone or one of his own. Looking back down at the device, he felt awkward taking something that belonged to someone else. He would never truly see the cellphone as his, for he wasn’t the original owner. Almost instantly, he held the phone out towards his roommate, initiating that he would rather give the cellphone back to him.

Lifting his gaze back up, he noticed the other boy looking out the window. He gradually lowered his hand. Jin was probably just looking at the leftovers from the storm that had happened earlier. A pang of regret squeezed his stomach. It would have been a nice day to go outside if he hadn’t been selfish and ruined it by soaking everything. His eyes quietly examined Jin’s profile, taking in his features; the slope of his jawline, the hints of gold in his eyes, and of course the natural motion of his fiery locks. There was no way Xavier could ever mistake him for anyone else; he had very unique features. Plus, there weren’t a lot of kids walking around with blazing red hair.

When the boy turned back to speak, Xavier slightly jumped. He didn’t want Jin thinking he was just rudely staring at him, and his brow bent in nervousness. He was watching anxiously, waiting for his turn to respond so he could apologize when he saw motion in the corner of his eyes. Quickly turning his head, he saw the tall blonde that had earlier lead him to this room. The vampire appeared quite solemn.

“Xavier, now that we have had everyone officially move in, would you mind returning to the medical wing with me for a moment?”

His expression hardened at the seriousness of the man’s words. The nervousness he was feeling just seconds ago was gone and replaced with calm concern. This wasn’t the first time he had been asked to visit the schools small “hospital.” When the vampire had learned about his powers and discovered that he was lacking in the friend department, he figured he would give him a purpose by helping those that were not as fortunate, those that had limited time left. Some had been dropped off while their previous guardians were aware of their situations, but lacked the compassion to care for them themselves. Unfortunately, the school was a dumping ground for the unwanted freaks, the unloved abominations.

Grabbing his sketchpad and two of his sketching pencils, he started towards the door. He hesitated after a few steps, taking a moment to glance over his shoulder. Should he invite Jin? Turning back towards the man, he bent his brow, eyes politely inquiring. Offering a soft sigh, the blonde nodded.

“If he wants, he may come.”

Looking back over his shoulder, Xavier met his roommate’s gaze. He gave a slight head motion towards the door, inviting Jin to follow.

Jin took the phone back with a small nod, not too surprised by Xavior's silent answer. He didn't seem the type to accept such gifts, or really any gifts at all. He wasn't even sure if the kid had ever gotten something like a phone, for a birthday or a holiday or otherwise. Hell, now that he realized it he didn't know anything about his roommate at all.

He made a mental note to learn about the kid later on, maybe ask his age and why he didn't speak, and if he was born deaf or otherwise. The usual things. He also needed to buy him a phone; that adorably excited and hesitant expression, the careful glances over the keyboard so to not break the 'fragile' object. It was like a kid getting a new toy; he wanted to see it again.

When that same blonde he'd seen exiting the room earlier arrived again, reminding him that he would probably start needing to lock the door behind him so random people couldn't just pop in out of nowhere, Jin narrowed his eyes. He wasn't the most trusting of really anyone. They would have to pass his own personal test before anything was decided.

He listened quietly to the exchange, unsure of what the pair was talking about, or if he should even be asking about it. Judging from their expressions and the general change in atmosphere, it wasn't exactly a happy topic. As Xavior gestured for him to join them, he nodded, curiosity getting the better of him as he followed after the two.

With his roommate's nod of confirmation, Xavier turned back towards the door. He stepped out into the hallway where the blonde began leading them back to the main common room where the sea of people had been gathered just an hour ago.

"This one was abused, dear. Whoever dropped her off either put her in her current state or knew who did."

Xavier watched him form the words and felt a lump forming in his throat. He naturally tried to swallow it down but of course it didn't budge. The abused children were always the hardest. As a kid who went through instances of abuse himself, he could relate to those that had suffered under the hands of loved ones, even unloved ones. Apparently the man had seen that connection in him the first time he'd visited the medical wing, which made him pick Xavier for the job.

"Oh, my apologies, how rude of me. My name is Jael."

The vampire's words were pointed in Jin's direction. His expression had lightened for a moment, like it always did when he was in his people-meeting mode.

"My apologies for intruding on you a moment ago; I am happy to see that you two seem to be getting along. I was told that you tended to have...specific requests, so I figured I would check in on your progress."

Shutting the door behind them, Jin listened somewhat quietly to the conversation, which was something he rarely did. He was usually one to skip the instructions and get right down to business, but something about the solemn atmosphere pushed his usual urges for action down. He kept his hands, clenched into fists, in his jacket pockets, blinking when he noticed a somewhat regretful or empathetic aura fill the air.

It was wafting from Xavior, and though he didn't seem much different from how he had been earlier, the scent around him gave away plenty. He would have asked the kid if he was alright, were he not still trying to put up the tough guy act. That and the tall blonde was apparently speaking to him.

"Jin," he returned with a nod, eyeing the man carefully. The little fangs peaking beneath his upper lip and the bloodlust behind that kind gaze classified him as a vampire, or something of the sort. He hated vampires. "No prob. Just surprised me s'all."

In reality he'd been ready to set the man on fire, as was the typical fate for those who caught him off guard. Call it instinct if you will. He perked up at the mention of his 'requests', giving only a brief nod and a warning glare toward Jael. He was trying to gain a decent amount of Xavior's trust, and if he learned anything about his threats toward the headmaster that would certainly complicate things.

Xavier was in his own thoughts, not really aware of the conversation going on between Jael and his roommate. His eyes were on the ground, watching each step he made as they got closer and closer to the medical bay. How could someone abandon a little girl when she was inches from death? How could someone do something like that. Did her parents cause it? Did they know who did? Or was it something else entirely?

His mind swarmed with these questions, anxious to get this job started but nervous to meet the person he was going to be drawing for. In these instances, he was prone to self-doubt, which was the detour he was currently taking in his mind. What if he didn't finish his drawing in time? Is it serious enough that she could pass away before he ever signed the image? What if she didn't like what he drew? What is the last thing a little girl wants to see on her death bed? Could he promise her that?

He took a moment to inhale a deep breath, holding it for a moment before releasing the air slowly. The breath seemed to help a little; his heart wasn't trying to leap out of his chest so desperately now. Glancing up, he noticed they'd passed through the main corridor and we're now approaching the medical wing.

As they reached the door, Jael stopped. Xavier looked over to him, and was greeted with soft expression of encouragement. The vampire was usually more physical; he would've naturally but a reassuring hand on the boy's shoulder. However, he knew Xavier and how he felt about physical contact.

"I figured I would let you take it from here. I am not really good at looking death in the face."

The teen nodded, understanding Jael's stance on being around the critically ill. He glanced through the door's window panes, seeing a couple of individuals in scrubs making their way throughout the hall. It seemed like a normal day at a typical hospital.

Pushing into the swinging door, Jael held it out and open, signaling that they could enter. Xavier stepped forward quietly, hesitating in the hallway.

"She's the fourth room on your left," Jael explained to Jin, knowing Xavier wasn't watching him so he couldn't hear.

Jin grimaced at the heavy scent of death and an entirely sterile environment as they entered the medical wing, moving a hand up to cover his nose. He hated the smell of hospitals. He usually enjoyed the metallic scent of a freshly killed human, but when they passed on in medical buildings... For some reason, it just made him feel sick.

He pushed past the vampire without any real indication that he was listening, but he was in fact, and moved a bit faster to show Xavior the way. It seemed like the kid was lost in his own thoughts, and the anxious breeze wafting from him only added to that vile stench surrounding the medical bay.

When they reached the room, Jin pushed the door open, completely disregarding the fact that he probably should have knocked first. Covering the door was a silken curtain, white with a tinge of blue like everything else in this godforsaken place. With a bit of effort he brushed it aside, revealing a young girl, younger than him he assumed, dressed in a blue hospital gown and looking like absolute shit.

It was almost as if she had looked death straight in the face, three times over. There were dark circles under her eyes, her skin sunken in where it wasn't supposed to be with her age, and her eyes half lifted and devoid of light.

He had seen people like this before, both humans and creatures, but not in such close proximity, and certainly not this young. He glanced back at Xavior as he walked in, wondering faintly if the kid was alright with the sight.

Judging from their earlier conversation, he was used to this, but that still didn't make him feel any better.

Xavier’s eyes swept around the corridor. It looked the same as it had last year, no major renovations of any kind. The plaques on the sides of the door frames were the only thing that looked new. Metal instead of plastic. It was funny, the things you could notice when you were trying to avoid the one thing needing attention the most. Even though he had done this quite a few times, it still unnerved him a bit. He wasn’t too comfortable in hospitals.

Feeling the air beside him move, he glanced up in time to see Jin brush past. Since he didn’t know where he was going and his roommate apparently did, he quietly followed after him, his gaze lowered.

They stopped at one of the many doors and he watched as Jin pushed it open. He found it interesting that the teen didn’t even seem to think about knocking. It was a bit unsettling to think about, that this guy seemed to just own the space he was in. Xavier tried not to think about it too much as he followed Jin through the doorway

The room was still. There seemed to be no signs of life, even though a person was lying in the bed before him. A girl, probably a couple years younger than him. Her eyes were lidded, the color of them dull. No light was shining through them, which pained Xavier to see. A girl like her shouldn’t be laying here, shouldn’t be waiting for death to take her away.

Steadily placing his sketchpad in a nearby chair, he quietly watched as the girl weakly followed him with her gaze. He stepped over to the bedside, offering her a small, polite smile. He wasn’t very good with people, but he seemed to be okay and making them feel better. The thing was, he had to figure out what she wanted to see, what her dying wish was. His eyes scanned what little of her body he could see. She had bruises all up and down her arms. He swallowed. Nothing here would give him any ideas.

Turning, Xavier slowly scanned the room. It was pretty bare. There wasn’t much to it except for a grungy pink backpack leaning against the wall. There was a window above it that also had a few things resting on the sill. His brow bending slightly with curiosity, he walked over to see what the objects were; they most likely had come with the girl when she was dropped off. Approaching the window, he took in the few items littered there: a handful of change, a crinkled picture of a bird that seemed to be crudely ripped out of a magazine, an eraser cap that was already halfway gone, and paperclip.

He stared at the cut-out of the bird for a moment. A hawk, most likely. He didn’t know much about birds of prey. Thinking for a moment, he glanced down at the backpack. He didn’t want to go barging through her things, but with her current state, it was easy to assume she most likely wouldn’t care. Mentally apologizing, he knelt down and carefully unzipped the backpack. Glancing inside, he noticed a tattered paper folder that had at least a small book’s worth of papers poking out of it. There were also two smaller books nestled up against it. Taking one of them out, he flipped it so he could read the cover. The title read “Birds of North America and How to Find Them.” It had a label near the bottom that suggested it had been borrowed from a library. Grabbing the other book, he turned it over to read “Guide to Hawk Watching.” Apparently, the girl had been doing research on them, most likely for school.

Setting the books down, he carefully pulled out the messy folder. A page slipped out, exposing a high grade in red ink at the top. His brow furrowed. She was intelligent. Opening up the folder exposed more grades. 92, 98, 95. He quietly glanced towards the bed. Why did she have to end up here?

Silently returning to the folder, he found a writing prompt hiding behind a biology quiz. Curious, he slowly pulled it out of the chaotic mess and read the typed message.

“Biology Research Paper #1

So far this year we have discussed mammals, birds, amphibians, and reptiles. For this assignment, please choose one of the four classes of vertebrates and pick one species from the category to explain why you like the class you chose. Don’t just say that it is your favorite animal. Explain why it is your favorite. Discuss features of it’s anatomy or behavior that interest you.

You should have a class picked out by tomorrow and a species chosen by the end of the week!”

So this explains the picture.

Placing the paper back into the folder, he slipped everything but the hawk-watching guide back into her backpack before pushing himself up onto his feet. He turned to walk back towards his sketchpad when he realized Jin was still there. Honestly, he had expected him to walk out or leave. He couldn’t possibly want to stay; this had to be excruciatingly boring for him. Still, he was impressed that his roommate was still there. He gave the teen a light smile, slightly waving the book to show what he had found.

As Xavior began what he assumed was the 'job' he and Jael had been discussing, Jin simply settled himself back against the far wall, closest to the door. He likely wasn't needed here, nor did he really care what happened to this girl, but Xavior's concentrated seriousness as he scanned the room for something forced him to stay. The kid had him intrigued with a single expression, but the thought that he might have a problem didn't even cross his mind.

He folded his arms over his chest, picking up a small change in the atmosphere as Xavior moved about. When his fingers clasped gently around the bird guide, he could sense a faint but sudden apprehension in the air.

The source was clear; he saw the girl's eyes following his roommate like a hawk, her weak, skinny and bruised hands gripping the thin hospital bed sheets anxiously. It was almost as if she was worried her precious book would be stolen.

Part of him wanted to snap at her for being so ignorant. Wasn't it obvious that Xavior was trying to help? What an ungrateful little bitch. He swallowed his pride, though, knowing for a fact that charring a dying girl's skin was not exactly the most morally right thing to do. Not only that, but Xavior had flashed him the most innocent little smile he'd ever seen. There was no way he could involve him in something so violent after witnessing that.

He wondered faintly what the girl was as Xavior walked awkwardly back to her side, seeming to prepare a drawing of some sort. After all, she had to be something. Humans weren't exactly welcome in this school, from what he heard.

She was certainly pretty; platinum blonde hair, clear pale skin and eyes the color of the sky. He would probably have ended up messing around with her, in other circumstances. So perhaps she was a vampire, maybe a temptress of some kind. Or...

An angel? he thought to himself, reptilian eyes sliding down to look at the foot of her bed. A collection of soft, tawny feathers lay scattered across the white tile floor, much larger than that of your average bird might be. She was definitely an angel. Or at least had the wings of one.

Shit.

Xavier quietly picked up his sketchpad so that he could take the seat for himself. Lowering himself into the metal chair, he opened up the guide and thumbed through the pages. There was plenty of material for him to use. Large, fullbody images of the different types of hawks illustrated the pages. They were gorgeous and in full color, too. Too bad they couldn’t hop out of the pages just like they were.

His breath suddenly caught. Jin still didn’t know about his power. He’d failed to explain the correlation between his image of the storm and the actual real storm that had happened earlier in the day. Well, not failed, but denied the opportunity. His lips tightened as he glanced down at the sketchbook. Well, now he wouldn’t have to write anything out or waste Jin’s time typing up a long paragraph. He could simply show him. Closing his eyes, he took a moment to relax himself before parting his eyelids.

Looking over towards his roommate, he signaled for him to come closer with a flick of his head. Holding the book up, he tried his best to show his roommate how he wanted him to hold the book; completely open with his fingers covering up as little of the image as possible. He couldn’t particularly hold the book in one hand and draw effectively with the other. He needed both hands to stabilize the paper and pen duo.

His eyes were locked on the girl now, rather than his roommate, and though she didn't seem to notice him there at all he still felt somewhat hostile. Call it a family rivalry, or perhaps ancestral, but he hated angels with all of his being. It was only natural, being the demon he was, for him to despise those that represented anything holy, and angels were the very embodiment of good deeds. Disgusting.

However, it was hard to see her as anything other than a poor, broken girl beaten to the core by some unknown being. She looked soulless, though it was obvious she was very much alive and sitting right before him, carefully watching Xavior's every movement. She might as well have traded her feathers for the leathery wings of a bat, with how ghostly and upsetting she looked.

He was pulled from his suspicions when he noticed Xavior gesturing for him to come forward, not missing a single beat. He pushed himself off of the wall, gliding toward the raven-haired boy and taking the book from him, doing his best to hold it as he had instructed. It was difficult, the pages being uneven with the illustration he wanted located too close to the front cover of the book, but he managed, albeit with a bit of trouble.

"Hey," he said when Xavior began his work, hoping the kid wouldn't notice him speaking to the girl he was drawing for. "What's your name?"

It was a question asked out of sheer boredom and lack of anything else to do, rather than a real desire to know. However, he received no response other than a brief fish-eyed glance that gave him nothing other than a realisation that he hated angels far more than he had originally thought.

Subconsciously his irritation began effecting the rest of him as well, and thin, transparent puffs of smoke began rising from his fingertips, where he was holding the book in place. There would probably be burns on the pages when they returned it.

Good. She deserved it.

Once Jin took the book from him, he reached down for this sketchbook and pulled it into his lap. Folding one leg over the other, he created a prop to rest the sketchpad on. Turning his gaze towards the open book, he began studying the image. His sketch pen quietly twirled between his fingers, a tick that usually signaled that Xavier was gathering his thoughts before he started. If this girl liked birds as much as she did, then he figured having a real hawk so close to her would be something she’d probably be interested in, right? Hopefully. Maybe she just picked it for easiness? His fingers stopped the pencil mid twirl as his brow stitched together. Thinking that way wouldn’t help anything; it didn’t matter what he thought, this was for her. Relaxing his expression, he pushed the tip of his pencil to the paper and began to draw.

As his hand began the familiar fluid motions, his thoughts vanished. His gaze became his only outlet for focus, blue eyes subtly jumping back and forth from his pad to the reference image. His eyes lidded slightly to help him concentrate, his expression soft but serious. Drawing for him was an art, something he felt like he needed to do his very best on. It was the only thing people took seriously about him.

His pencil began sketching the layout of one of the wings, the shape of the head already practically complete. Lips tight, eyes scanning the page, he tuned up the lines he’d just drawn, forcing them to become more solid, more reliable. His brow suddenly twitched as his hand jerked, causing a subtle cut in one of the feathers. Grunting, he forced himself to work around it. The hawk would just have to have a messed up feather.

As he was working on the bottom feathers, he caught the site of what looked like…vapor? He hesitated, staring at the book to look for the source before jolting with realization; where Jin’s fingers were, smoke was softly rising, indicating that if he was gradually scorching the pages. Brows furrowed with concern, he dropped his pencil into his lap and grabbed the bottom part of the book, giving it a shake to catch Jin’s attention. It wasn’t the book he was worried about.

Having spaced out as he watched Xavior draw, mesmerized by the fluid motions of his hands and the sharp, careful sketches he created along the paper, Jin hadn't realized what he was doing. He was still pissed, and though his fingers weren't completely burning through the pages, small black scorch marks dotted the edge of the book in the form of dark finger prints.

He blinked out of his trance when the guide was shaken, gaze rising from his roommate's unfinished sketch to his concerned expression. It was then that he finally noticed his absentminded mistake, and quickly forced himself to cool down, shifting the book so he could look over the smooth burns of the pages. It was a good thing they were laminated rather than just simple paper. Were that the case, he likely would have set the entire thing ablaze by now.

"My bad," he apologized, though it was directed toward Xavior rather than the girl he was drawing for. He moved to hold the guide just as he had been before hoping the brief interruption didn't throw the other off too much.

He didn't have much practice with giving presents-- though he was an expert at receiving them-- but from what he'd been told, it felt nice to give a meaningful gift to someone else.

Perhaps that was why Xavior was doing this. Or maybe it was out of complete selflessness. Maybe pity. He wouldn't put any possibilities past the kid; he knew nothing about him, having just met him a little over half an hour earlier. He couldn't make any assumptions quite yet.

Once Jin realized what he was doing, Xavier watched as he took notice of his mistake and apologized. The teen’s blue eyes shimmered. Jin didn’t seem like the type to apologize for anything, especially not something as mundane as this. The fact that he did though made the brunette feel more comfortable. He let a short, relieved chuckle escape past his lips before gently releasing his grip on the book.

Picking up the pencil, he quickly returned to the image, finishing up the linework so he could add the details. He had the top half of the bird complete, and he worked his way steadily down towards the tail. His focus was back, bending his brown in concentration as his wrists made quick, strong flicks brisk swipes of the pencil. His hand was constantly moving, even if the pencil wasn’t actually making contact with the paper. It was a tick of his. As he thought about his next move, his fingers would continue to move the pencil as if he was drawing in thin air. It kept his momentum going.

After a few final meticulous touches, Xavier finally felt like the picture was complete. Taking it all in, a heavy but content breath exhaled through his nostrils. His blue eyes lifted up from the page to look at his roommate before flicking downwards in a “drop it” motion. The thought of showing him his powers was nerve wracking. It was also a little embarrassing, to be honest. He could feel a blush heat his ears, bringing with it nervous anticipation. If he was going to show Jin what he was capable of, he might as well have his undivided attention.

Upon hearing the chuckle, Jin grinned. That was the first bit of sound he'd heard from Xavior since they met, and judging from the coarseness behind the small chuckle, it was the first noise the kid had made in awhile.

He waited patiently for his roommate to finish, admiring the way his hands tugged and pulled at the paper and pencil, as if they were alive alongside him and simply disconnected extensions of himself. He certainly had plenty of experience drawing, that was for sure.

He became stuck in a trance yet again, eyes fixated on every jerk of Xavior's wrist as he filled in even the smallest details on the hawk's sketched body. Small speckles against its pale chest, the darker shade of its back, the way the feathers curved and overlapped over one another. It was amazing how he could capture such a picture and print it so perfectly in his sketchbook, like some sort of flesh-and-blood machine.

When Xavior appeared to be finished, Jin expected him to simply tear out the piece and give it curtly to the girl before taking his leave. However, not a single one of those things happened, and he was left confused when he was ordered to set down the book. He did so on the foot of the bed, though not before copying Xavior's blushing face to memory. "You gonna give it to her or what?" he asked, rubbing the black scorch stains on his fingertips against his pant leg and stuffing his hands comfortably in his pockets.
