Half the credits go to mama Xyllama (#65134) for helping with the development of the original idea :D "Farmers have finally eradicated the source of their cows genetically mutating. But, what is this? The lionkind discovers a mysterious herb that seems.. to mutate the cows?! In thrill of rediscovering a hope for their GMO market, the lions quickly start harvesting crops of the herb that had been named Acacia Nyota. They must quickly feed the cows on their fields, before the herbs wilt away! Will they manage to do it in time?!" As the summary presents, the Minigame consists of feeding the quickly spawning herbs to the cows, via dragging them and dropping them on the cows to feed them. They respawn every two seconds, wilting away in five seconds after they spawn. Gotta be quick! The game is split in a day phase, and a night phase. At night, the bugs surface, and the lions finally know why the Acacia Nyota wilt away so fast, thus needing to combat the bugs at night, since the cows aren't on the field then. The next day, the field is obviously flooded, since the herbs haven't been wilting over the night. This is where the difficulty steps up a notch: feed the cows before all the herbs wilt! Each of the phases are one minute long. That means 30 herbs the next day, right? Worry not: at night, the herbs instead grow every ten seconds, since there isn't the sun to help them grow faster. At the end of a REAL LIFE month, the player with the highest score gets awarded with a GMO cow. As for the score, for every herb fed/bug combatted, you earn a point. Sounds like Whack-A-Snake, does it not? What do you think? Should this minigame be implemented? Suggestions, ideas and criticism welcome! Edit #1: At night, a plant named Fenugreek has a chance of appearing as a bonus, and it combats all the bugs currently present! Edit #2: Whoops, I don't know why I wrote Lioden month. It's a REAL LIFE month. |

Idea :o For every night, you could maybe win a once-upgraded bug decor? Like a coffee locust [2], etc. Also name idea GMO Gratis ![]() Edited on 14/05/16 @ 16:27:53 by mama Xyllama (#65134) |

It sounds like fun, but giving out a GMO Cow everyday? That might ruin the mutation economy. ![]() |

"At the end of a Lioden month". 1 LD month = 1 real day. If it really were every actual month and not every day, I don't think this is a terrible idea, but otherwise, I agree it might make GMO Cows and mutations in general loose a lot of value. ![]() |

Oh, not sure why she put that! She meant at the end of a real life month. ![]() |

Ok, my reply is gonna be pretty long for this. Let's assume for a moment that the admins have no problem with putting an extra 12 GMO cows into circulation per year, on the basis of one won per month. It feels a little bit like the 'lions' in this game concept are too closely tied to the 'player'. I can understand that as players, you would want the opportunity to get GMO cows outside of their event. However, I feel like this game idea is shoe-horning GMOs into the game, rather than being a fitting, well-thought out game that will add value to the site. I love the concept of a drag-and-drop game, but I feel like the context around it is quite weak. Lions wouldn't want their cubs to be mutated, and don't have a 'GMO market', that's us as the players. If GMOs were going to be given as prizes in a game, monthly, I'd recommend coming at this from the angle of, "How can we make a great, challenging game, for a month-long time frame, that has high stakes prizes" rather than, "How can we wrangle a game to get GMOs". I hope that makes sense, and doesn't sound too harsh! <3 ![]() |
