I just made my first adoptable! The species that are Pyrosaurids (plural of Pyrosaurus) were invented by me, and the lineart was done by me and digitized by Azzy.

Species info

Physical Description: Pyrosaurids are a bipedal raptor named for their fire-y plumage. They range from four to five feet in height. Male Pyrosaurids tend to have lots of bright scarlets where the females have duller reds; other than color, there aren't any obvious distinctions between the males and females. Eye color ranges from amber-yellow (common) to blue-green (rare). Markings are also duller or nonexistent on females and more prevalent in males.

Behavior: Pyrosaurids live in small family groups consisting of a single male and two to three females. They mostly hunt smaller animals solitarily, but will work together to take down larger animals. They are somewhat social amongst members of their family groups, but more standoffish toward outsiders and humans.

Hunting: Due to their stocky bodies and large heads, Pyrosaurids are better at sprinting and jumping from above than chasing down prey at long distances. They are good climbers and will often climb into a tree and wait patiently for hours. Due to the vivid feathers meant to impress and intimidate other Pyrosaurids, the males often have a bit of trouble hunting. To combat this, a male may share the caught food with his females and stick by them in exchange for protection.
