Jade had lost interest in the conversation and was now circling overhead. "Are we going to learn to ride our dragons in class tomorrow?" Adeline really wanted to learn how to ride Jade. "Can I take her to the Arena with me?" She looked at Titus. "I sort of wanted to spar, and I'm not sure if I can bring her along." As she spoke, Adeline flipped open the fans she kept at her waist. "Got to keep practicing with these. If I'm not careful I could slice somebody's head off." Adeline said, only half joking. She could see the blank looks she was getting from the others. The fan she was holding looked relatively normal, until it caught the light. It was made of a light metal, but could slice through bone like it was butter.

Unbelievable. Day one, all they were doing was going to meet their dragons, and she was already late.

She hurried down the path towards the stable, a slip of paper in her hand, though she didn’t need to read it to remember what it said on it. On one side, nothing but a number. 33. On the other, a single word, but it was enough to send shivers down her spine. Venomous. Cool, great, she was late to meet a venomous dragon that would probably accidentally kill her. What a day.

As she neared the stables, she slowed, seeing the small group gathered outside with their dragons. She walked past them, smiling as she did so. “Hey, hey, sorry I’m late! Going to meet my dragon now, catch you all in a few.”

She made her way inside, scanning the numbers on the stalls, until at last she found the one where her dragon was. She opened it a crack and peered inside.

The dragon inside immediately lifted its head from where it had been drinking out of a bucket on the floor, scattering droplets of water. It glanced at her for a second, meeting her eyes, before darting quickly to the door, shoving it open. Bryn’s heart seemed to stop for a moment and she took a few steps back. The dragon chittered at her and hopped out the door, then circled around her, seemingly inspecting her. Then it stopped and made a clicking noise.

“Hello,” Bryn said carefully. She reached out a hand, and the dragon turned its head to allow her to touch its cheek. “You’re very pretty, aren’t you? I suppose I’ll have to think of a name for you soon.”

In truth, it was a very pretty creature. Pale violet and cream, with darker purple speckled with teal on its wings. A deadly nadder. Yes, they did have venomous spines, she remembered, but so long as she took care not to needlessly startle it or make it angry she should be relatively safe. She glanced at his nasal horn, seeing that it was rather straight instead of curved. A male dragon.

She remembered the water droplets he had scattered when she had first seen him, like rain. “Rain... Rain.... And you have such pretty wings... What do you think of the name Rainwing?” She took the chirping sounds he made as a sign of approval. “Okay, I think that’ll be your name then! My name’s Brynhilde. It’s nice to meet you!”

(( after some people wrap things up we will be skipping forward a week. They will know everything they need to know by then, such as flying and fighting nd whatnot. They will be going on a flying mission, and a plot will begin! ))

"Need a partner to spar with?" Fira asked Adeline. She hadn't sparred in a week since she had been too excited for the tests to do so, but she wouldn't mind doing so again.

Maybe she'd be able to show off her weapon, Skielis. No one had seen it before, since she would always hide t if someone walked in on her training, but someone had to see eventually.

Titus shrugged. "I can keep an eye on Jade for a while if you want" he offered. Renna watched Titus as he talked to the other human female. As the man thought about it, he realized that he needed to practice with his duel edged axe. Maybe he could get Maxon to train with him.

"Sure. And thanks, Titus." She waved goodbye to Jade and turned to Fira. "I'll meet you at the arena...unless you want to walk together? What type of weapons do you fight with, anyway?" Adeline asked. She usually practiced with her tessen fans every day, but she'd missed the day before because she'd been taking the test, and hadn't practice today, either. The fans were from Japan, and required a lot of practice to use them because they were so dangerous.

"I think I'll bring Midnight with me. I'm sure she'll be able to behave." Fira said. Well, she hoped Midnight could behave. If she didn't then there may be a problem. "I use a weapon that works. If you want to see it you'll have to wait." Fira said.

Midnight, noticing Fira was leaving, began bounding towards the two leaving girls. She stopped when she was right behind Fira, but kept walking with thwm.

"I'll bring Jade too, then. They can play together." Jade recognized her name and swooped down to walk beside Midnight, chirping a greeting. "Okay-- it certainly sounds interesting, and I can't wait to see it. I also want to see Jade do that ball-of-sand-heated-so-hot-it-melts-into-a-rock-and-crushes-stuff thing. If she wants to... I have no idea how to get her to do it, so I guess we'll be learning it in class."

"I really want to see Midnight's plasma blast. That would look so cool!" Fira said, smiling as she walked with Adeline.

Midnight chirped back, ears lifting as she turned to watch the desert wraith.

"It would. I'm not sure, but i think there's only one other dragon that can do those-- the grapple grounder. And it's pretty uncommon for dragons to have blue fire, aside form a razorwhip. I don't even know what color Jade's is." Adeline continued toward the arena. They were nearing it now.

Fira nodded, looking at the arena in front of them. She slipped away in a second, making it appear as though she had suddenly vanished. She was back a few seconds later, though.

In her hand was a thing of beauty, obvisouky made with care and although it was handled roughly it looks brand new.

Made of cherry blossom wood, with some steel surrounding a single moonstone, as blue as the blue in her eyes. The light was hitting it, so a spot of blue coming from the gemstone touched the ground infront of her.

Midnight suddenky stopped as her interest was drawn to it. She then lked to sit infront of the staff, which she did, and she sat down and stared at it.

(( everyone can have fire (or whatever their dragons use) that is not normal. Midnight will have black plasma that has hints of blue in it. ))

Jade tilted her head, looking at the gem sparkling in the light, but didn't move. "That's really pretty. Aren't you afraid that the stone might break, though?" Adeline looked at it. "It seems to have their attention... and no wonder. All dragon love shiny objects." Adeline took out her fans, glinting in the light. She'd been training with them since she was two, but didn't like to use them on anyone unless it was for practice or absolutely necessary. She turned to Fira. "Ready? Or do you want to see what our dragons can do first?"
