Calculating and conniving, Schora is the type to use everything in her power when needed. She is not the type to leave loose ends nor a stone unturned. She can be a bit ruthless when angry, and unfortunately that's a bit easy to do. She knows the value of a lackey or two. When relaxed she's quite the flirt, and loves toying with people, which usually leads to the aforementioned ruthlessness due to peoples reactions at Schora being an utter ass.

She is painfully aware of what she is, and years of knowledge on what her limits are. Manipulating people is something she has been working on, with mixed success as of late. Why show your true colors when a coat of paint is far nicer? If you're going to rule, it better be with an iron fist or with trust from the bottom.
𝓗𝓲𝓼𝓽𝓸𝓻𝔂: 
Schora is pretty secretive about being a werewolf, after growing up in a town where that was known about her. She grew up in the same household as Alexander, and they were quite close playmates. When the whole fiasco Alex started went down, she was one of three that did not get expelled by the time she graduated. She gave her old notes to the ones that wanted to keep learning, but otherwise tried her best to advance.

She did not attend college, but managed to finish high school. Immediately afterwards, she moved towns, seeking to avoid the reputation that a werewolf has. She did have success, and started to learn the tricks she now employs in her arsenal. She does go back once in a while to check on her family and friends, and this is how she eventually ends up going with Alex.

Quite the caring and kind individual, Alex is... complex to say the least. he tries his best to be kind to people, but often get anxious and sad when he figures out people were only nice to him or afraid of him because of his affiliation. He's got quite a focus on what others think, and reacts very negatively when he assumes it is negative (which is more often than he'd like). He does have a love for like plants, fossils, and playing string instruments; though his combination of anxiety and depression interferes with these hobbies. Someday he'll be able to help people, but he first needs to get past the idea he can't help everyone and that not everyone will like him, no matter how hard he tries to get them. He has intense trouble actually hurting people for the aforementioned reasons, and even insulting them is liable to make him anxious.
𝓗𝓲𝓼𝓽𝓸𝓻𝔂: 
Alex's family was a rare case of werewolves who had a small plot of land all to themselves. He grew up among two other families in the same house and had enough space to play with them as he grew up. When he started school, the common knowledge of his living situation fell onto him like a ton of bricks. Other students learned to have him around when doing something bad, because everyone thought it was there werewolf kids, they were the ones that were supposed to be violent monsters, after all!

Unfortunately for Alex, he was expelled in 6th grade after losing his cool after some casual bullying during a sports game. He shifted in broad daylight and lunged at someone, but caused no harm. The resulting shitstorm got him expelled and within a few years, so did most of his werewolf playmates. The ones that stayed in school would bring back their work and let them look over it, and Alex was one of the few that tried, some others just helped their parents or tended to hunting or crops.

Eventually, the household was approached with the Offer, and quite a few young werewolves took it up, despite their parents protesting. Alex dragged Schora along not long after.

Gero is somewhat confused about himself. He knows he's supposed to do things one way or act a certain way, but innately he wants to do something almost completely different. He tends to shove such thoughts out of his head, or at least tries to, but he most often ends up thinking about his problems if he isn't constantly being bothered. He is able to make friends, but he tends to whine to them about his problems frequently and grow really attached. He's very quick to trust, and doesn't seem to notice if he's being used if the "friend" listens to him frequently. He gets very offended when someone doesn't agree with him, but also very confused, thinking everyone now hates him. He's pretty much very naive and quite possibly has underlying untreated mental problems.
𝓗𝓲𝓼𝓽𝓸𝓻𝔂: 
Gero had a short, yet slightly tragic, history. He was born to two other werewolves, and his personality is what eventually let the whole neighborhood know who they were. Unsurprisingly, his parents eventually moved away, leaving him behind. Gero was about 15 at the time, and it was a slightly traumatizing time for him. Being a known werewolf in a small town made it a bit hard for him to get any good work, so he jumped at the offer to leave.

What jobs he did have were mostly in manual labor, and quite short. He was usually let go the moment he could be replaced with a human worker.

They can shift whenever they want, but their bones pop and crack so it isn't a quick shift until they master it.

From what I can tell it varies. Some shift at will and some can only do it when their temper flares or under the full moon. O-O

It really depends on the role play maker I guess....or movie or book whatever. The twilight movies they shift easily, but if you have ever watched Hemlock Grove it hurts and takes time, which makes sense since all of their bones are readjusting.

Another person I know is coming in and making up the two females so we are even. If you make another just let me know. I too may make a few to kill off.

I kind of have it being a primal thing. Kids normally go through their first shift in response to a stressful stimulus or under guidance. It takes a hellish amount of energy out of you so people usually stay in that form for weeks or months at a time. Doing it twice a day imo would kill someone because of all the bone and muscle changes (not only in location but in shape size, etc as well).

I'd half expect for the first few days after a shift they'd need a massive influx of calcium and nutriment because their bones would be softer than usual and more likely to fail or not support them properly.

Thats how I play it anyways :V

Yeah, that's usually how I did it, with really any shifting characters. I can't imagine having your bones popping back and forth while you shapeshift is very comfortable.

@Winder, I actually really like that idea where they need calcium and stuff like that. I'm sure anger could definitely play a role to and maybe quicken the process because of the adrenaline.

Werewolf puberty c: How pleasant~ (not really)

I also always added that there were different species of werewolf, or subspecies per say. Like some can willingly shift, while others can only do so during the full moon. And stuff.

I tend to go off a DnD book I had a long long time ago: werewolves can become one from being bitten, thus transform with the moon and have the mid-form only (and as such, less taxing to the body), and children from a werewolf are naturals and can have a mid and full wolf form. I know Alex and Schora are from a subspecies that's pretty much known for having litters of kids which is why they had like, about 7 other people around growing up.

In more detail, the bone will likely be more cartilage-based until the bone can grow in proper. A proper bone has hard and soft parts, which you can observe yourself if you bake or drop one in HCL. It turns brittle cause all the organic shizz is not in it or flexible because the calcium is gone. So, some adult werewolves stay in wolf form for months as hunters when needed and shift during the spring/summer when food is more common. The longer you are in the form the better, in essence, because your body has more time to adjust.
