Chimerism is a relatively new mutation to science. A prime example of Chimerism is Venus the cat, whose beautiful markings shocked and amazed the internet. Chimies have, unlike non-chimies, not one set of good ol' deoxyribonucleic acid, but TWO sets of DNA. This makes them seem "colorblocked". Chimerism sometimes happens when one embryo somewhat absorbs the other, mixing the two developing being's traits. Chimies and Mosaics can be underlying, you might even have the traits of one, but you don't know it. Chimeras can have a completely normal appearance, but one of their organs can have different DNA. It doesn't effect their life, not at all, in fact, but it may be confusing when it comes to DNA tests. Babies have been born with neither of their parents DNA, due to the fact that one of the parents was a chimera and they got their parent's DNA from whatever part was Chimera. Chimeristic lions would look almost half-and-half of each color. They would be part of the mother lioness and half of the father lion. They would have both the patterns of both parents on either side. In a nutshell, they would be half the mother's fur and half of the father's. This would be fairly rare, as it is in the wild. (If someone could make art that would be great!) Mosaicism lions would have patches of both the mother and the father...but not half and half. They would have SEPARATE PATCHES of the mother and fathers bases and then their normal markings over that. This would still be uncommon... But a bit more common than Chimerism. (Also manages image) NEITHER OF THESE ARE LETHAL!!!!! THEY JUST CHANGE THE PELT! (Very low chance of passing on... somewhat recessive.) Who's with me?!? |

I LOVE chimeras, so naturally I support this wholeheartedly! I'd love to have a chimeric king. *u* 0 players like this post! Like? |

I love this idea, but we kinda already have it with the uneven patches. It covers half the body, so it looks like Venus the cat :) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Support! They probably wouldn't be able to pass down the chimerism (very very rare chance) but they should be able to pass down either sets of the chimera markings they have ^^ (markings and stuff should list both imo) (also just throwing it out there, apparently venus wasn't a chimera, she just had very special markings) EDIT: damn didn't realize how old this was lmfao 0 players like this post!
