Today during an Art Stream I decided to sketch the Tigons in advance at least - they are still coming out in 2017/2018, but it's nice to have sketches done and then after some time I can always have a fresh look before doing linearts!

Don't worry about everything facing 1 way, I was flipping art all the time, and I bet the male/female flip will match the universal lion art so that lots of decors should look okay!

That being said, will it be possible to have lionesses breed with male tigers? Or maybe allow male tigers into the pride?

I could sorta see a scenario like that in the Explore tag

"Your nose picks up the scent of fresh blood and it leads you to a half-starved, injured animal. It's a cat of some kind, like none you've ever seen, with black stripes on an orange background. (Question: will there be different types of tiger? Snow Tigers, Strawberry Tigers, White Tigers, ect. will they influence to look of the cub at all?) S/he growls at you, but is so pathetic you doubt s/he could stand and fight."

Options
A) Offer them Sanctuary. For MALE tigers, this would take up a male slot temporarily. Tigers would stay for maybe 10 IRL days. In that time, they may take a liking to one of your lionesses (whether they do or not is based on personality compatibility). If she's in heat, they may mate. During the 10 days, the tiger would require food. Rarely, at the end of those 10 days, the tiger may stay with the pride and act as a submale. Tigers would not be able to be the heir to a pride and once they stayed they could not be used further to breed more Tigons. FEMALE tigers would function similarly, however if they choose to stay, they would act as a lioness in the pride, thus making ligers possible. All Tigers would have a Low or Very Low fertility chance and Ligers would be subject to higher rates of cub mortality. Female tigers, being solo animals, are also more likely to leave with her cubs. Male Ligers are sterile, but female ligers can produce li-ligers or ti-ligers, ect. Ligers cannot be heirs to a pride (or the player would be warned that in return for strength and stamina, they cannot breed their King).

B) You put the tiger out of it's misery.

@Ithi Tigons have tiger ruffs around their throats. A ruff is not a mane.

@Jackie i think it's supposed to be like a leopon. Leopons have manes here in lioden, so it makes sense that tigons would also have manes :p

Doesn't matter. IRL tigons dont have manes. IRL Leopons do.

@Jackie; that's not true. IRL tigon males can in fact sport a scruffy mane. The two pictures below are male tigon - you can tell that they are tigon by their smaller size and more pronounced body stripes - and both sport small manes similar in size to the sketch

Hmm, interesting. Didn't know that. Feels a little weird to me, I don't like the idea personally, but I'm sure it'll be a really fun addition to the game

Alright, so it's an exaggerated ruff. It's even less than the scarce mane, though, which -- to me at least -- is not a true mane.
