So, as it is known, offering free studdings for items is against the ToS, due to it being a Promise-based transaction. What if there was a safe way to do it? (much akin to the way you can now safely send breeding items to studs.)

The Stud could set it up in their Studding Services like the gb/sb options. For example: Alternate payment could be 5 Rough Opals.

Person looking to stud could click the provided radio button, then select from a drop down menu and pick an option.

"if a drop box option was selected and the person did not have the item(s) I think the breed button should be grayed out/unselectable. but if it is too hard to code a warning afterwards would be fine, like there is for no more stud slots, though this will mean some people will have to have the king page and hoard page open as tabs at the same time to see what items payments they can match" -Meso(#49519)
