It was a late Sunday evening, the hour that marked the end of what most students adored: the weekend. For Mizuki, though, the weekend had been quite stressful. She had spent it flying across the country, and her final flight had just landed at 8:00. Why was Mizuki flying? She had gotten accepted into a high school that had a very nice curricular and extracurricular system, but there was one problem; it was an all-boys boarding school. To her surprise, though, after explaining her situation to the principle of the school, Mizuki was accepted. The principle was very understanding, but since it was an all-boys school, he had had a few requirements. If Mizuki was to stay at the school, it would be strictly to learn. She would have to agree not to cause any trouble, keep her grades up, and finally, she would have to dress like a boy. An odd requirement, perhaps, but the principle did not want his school's reputation, being an all-boys school as it was, to be ruined.

Mizuki, of course, agreed to these requirements willingly. The school was something that would help her immensely, and with it on her resume, she would most likely be accepted into any college, when that time came. And besides, Mizuki fit thee bill almost perfectly. Rather flat-chested with a boyish figure, all she would have to do to look like a boy would be wear chest wraps and the school uniform in a size just a bit too big for herself.

So, Mizuki flew across the country. Her parents were okay with her going to the school, though a little concerned about how it would all work out. Nonetheless, they had let their only daughter go, and Mizuki found herself spending the weekend packing and flying. When she finally landed, though she was tired, she knew she would have to find her dorm and settle in. Since it was already halfway through the school year, she would already have a roommate. Wondering who that would be, Mizuki sleepily made her way down the corridor of the dorm building. "Room 58, huh? I wonder where room 58 could ever be..." She muttered, stifling a yawn.

(Sorry that took me so long, I got a little sidetracked ^^; basically my idea is that of Mizuki having to pretend to be a guy, and then her roommate, Ren, somehow without her knowing, finds out that she's actually a girl. But he doesn't tell her that he knows, and then somehow later they end up falling for each other? I haven't really thought through the events in between xD but if you don't like it, we can do something different. :3)

Ren carefully traced his fingers over a delicate tea cup, Sighing in contempt. He had been moved to a new dorm after he had strictly picked a fight with his last roomate. Grunting- Ren stood setting the porcelain cup on the desk which preoccupied the room. Walking towards the door that led into the room he exited it. Golden hues narrowing, He slowly began to walk down the corridor locking his gaze on the ground and shuffling the black scarf in which hung around his neck over his mouth. A subtle sight drifted from him as he stopped around a few feet from the room he left and stared back before leaning against the wall of the corridor.

Ren carefully adjusted his coat stiffly, growling softly as his hair moved into his gaze and behind his glasses. Finally- After the slow attempt he once again began walking forward, uncaring of the students whom passed by despite his slow speed.

(That's okay ^^ and oh, are we supposed to be using italics? Just something else that shows how much of a noob I am xD and, well, I tried to get in italics, but my computer seems to hate me. Is it alright if I just continue like this? :'3)

Mizuki too, walked slowly down the hall. Not quite as slowly as Ren, but she still had to move slowly as to be able to read the paper in her hand. Shaking papers are hard to read, of course, and walking too quickly makes it nearly impossible to hold a paper steady. The paper had information listed on it about her dorm, her dorm room, and her classes, but it told about no roommate. "I wonder who he'll be?" Mizuki breathed out the words, talking only to herself, as she was paying no mind to anyone that passed her.

As she was walking, Mizuki glanced up every now and again to look at the numbers on doors in the corridor. She passed door 46... "I must be getting close then, right?" She murmured to herself, bushy tail waggling slightly as she moved. Mizuki had the appearance of a small wolf, and while her father was a white wolf, her mother had actually been a fox. So, Mizuki was just a smaller, scrawnier wolf, sort of, with her father's white fur and her mother's big blue eyes, as well as blue highlights in her headfur and tail to match.

Looking back down at her paper, Mizuki hardly watched where she was going. She was absorbed in the words, blinking as she read about the school and what her classes would be. Perhaps she should have been watching where she was going, because before she knew it, Mizuki had run headlong into another student. "Ow.." She groaned, having his her nose hard on the stranger's chest. "I'm sorry about that, I guess I wasn't watching where I was going." Mizuki smiled apologetically, blinking up at the stranger.

Ren grunted, pupils immediately going into slits. Nudging up his glasses he rasped softly and turned beginning to walk to the dorm, fluffed appendage lashing, his form was quite tall despite being a feline. Hues narrowing, he eyed Mizuki an unknown glint within his dull golden eyes. Flicking hair from his face, Ren stuffed his hands in his pockets brows furrowing. Ignoring the chuckles of students around he continued to walk on. Slowly the door came to his sight and he slowly walked closer against the wall before slinking against it in a sitting position.

'How long will this wait be.' He sighed roughly and pulled down the scarf in which covered his features, lowering his head he pulled his knees to his chest, burying his head into his arms and remaining silent. Soon enough his breath became even and steady unable to fight off the baring rest the clung over him like a shadow, allowing himself to melt into the slumber despite being in public eye, though he could care less with how much studying was given it was quite needed.

Mizuki frowned at the male in front of her, her ears swiveling backwards slightly. 'How rude...' She thought, but tried to shake it off. The stranger's narrowed eyes boring into her, they left an odd feeling sitting in the pit of her stomach, and it sat heavily, as though she had swallowed a large stone. Mizuki found herself watching him slink away, and she didn't move to continue her own mission until he had disappeared into the throng of other students.

'Who was that?' She wondered, looking back down at her paper. Instead of going back to find out, though, Mizuki looked up at the others around her. She found it rather odd to be just seeing male students, but she figured she would get used to it sooner or later. "Excuse me," Mizuki asked a passing serval, finding him almost uncomfortable taller than her. "Is room 58 near here anywhere?" The serval smiled, bending down to read her paper. "So you're the new student, huh?Yeah, 58's just straight down this hall and then to the right." He said, pointing in the direction he was talking about. She smiled back. "Okay, thank you!" At least some students were nice, it seemed.

Mizuki made her way down the corridor that the serval had told her to go down, and sure enough, she soon found room 58. 'Finally,' the female sighed aloud, 'I can't wait to be able to just sleep!' The principle had given her a key to the dorm room, and Mizuki unlocked the door quickly, dragging her backpack and suitcase full of clothes and books into the room. Oddly enough, there was no one there. "I wonder where my new roommate is..?" She murmured, looking around the dorm room. "And who he is, really."

Ren flinched as the door opened to the dorm and immediately ran to it before entering the room, at that point panting, hues shrinking in size. 'I-Its you from the h-hall..' He rasped, walking to the female and setting a hand on her shoulder, his gaze locking onto hers. 'Names Ren.' He huffed, his usual scowl somewhat easing though curiosity flushed his mind and his gaze softened as a slight smile formed on his features. What was this? He groaned to himself at feeling eased with the stranger around and moved away to shut the door.

'New student I'm guessing.' He sighed, allowing his hues to dullen once more. Appendage flicking he removed his coat and set it on his bed, frowning once more. 'I'm surprised they put you in with me.' His tone was much more colder then before, pupils in slits. Turning, he faced her and nudged up his glasses. The room was well kept and things were neatly settled in organized areas. Lobes flattening he covered his mouth with an arm allowing a soft cough to emit from, brows furrowing as he looked around the room.

(Sorry! I ended up falling asleep before I could get a reply in ^^;)

Mizuki turned quickly, started to see someone running into the room. She was about to snap at him for earlier, but hearing him introduce himself, and seeing him smile, no matter how small of a smile it was, she thought better of it. "Oh, Mizuki." She smiled softly back, blinking up at him. This strange student, Ren, as he called himself, was also much taller than Mizuki herself. Her father was tall, though, so she had been used to looking up to him her entire life. Of course, she had inherited her mother's shortness, and would most likely remain her same height for the rest of her life.

"Right, I'll be just starting here tomorrow. And really?" She asked, flicking one ear. "How come that's surprising? I mean the principle said there were a few empty rooms, but it would be better if I had a roommate." Mizuki shrugged, glancing around the room. There were two beds, and she moved to set her bag down on the one that looked most unused. "Mind if I take this one? I'm exhausted." She said with a small laugh. Mizuki hadn't slept at all, she didn't much like flights, and the bed looked quite comfortable to her at the time.

Ren nodded slowly, seating himself on his bed. His appendage flicked to his side, hair brushing in his gaze as he removed his glasses. 'The principle is and Idiot- I mean He knows I don't really get along with people. After my brother I kind of shut down. So After my last roommate and I got in a- Well uhm.. A fight, I haven't truly had someone in the same room with me.' He shrugged, Laying on his bed. Grunting, Ren crossed his legs. 'You've a nice name.' He rasped, rubbing his hues and rolling up the sleeves to his shirt.

Glancing over at the female and nodded. 'Yea, You can have that bed. Also there are a few rules I'd like to discuss.' He sighed, turning so his back face Mizuki. Lobes flattening, He sneezed into his arm before hugging a pillow. 'If you get cold in the night just wake me up and I'll give you one of my blankets.'

"I see..." Mizuki didn't want to press Ren for more information about his brother, or the fight he said he had gotten into with his old roommate. It would be rather rude to pry, wouldn't it? "Thank you, though it sounds a bit like a girl's name, doesn't it?" Mizuki laughed at herself, the secret she kept being rather funny to her. "I like your name too. I've never met a Ren before. It's nice." She smiled over at him.

"Okay, I figured there'd be some rules." Mizuki chuckled quietly, smoothing out a small kink in the fur of her bushy tail. Listening to Ren talk, the female thought about what sharing a room with a boy would be like. Sure, she was supposed to act like a boy, but what would happen? Nonetheless, she was there to learn and Mizuki intended to do just that. "Really?" She asked, looking up with big blue eyes, two shining orbs alight with curiosity. "But then wouldn't you get cold?" She asked.

'Well- Yes, but who knows It could be for both genders. And thank you, It was supposed to be Rin but my parents changed it at birth.' He sighed and sat up, walking towards the desk and grabbing a book, hues narrowing. A grunt parted from him and he allowed a soft smile to form over his features, lobes flicking. 'Oh, There's a washing area for your clothes if they get dirty. I brought a few extra shirts if anything goes wrong- It gets crowded so you can borrow one. Though they may be a bit big.' He chuckled, his gaze gently resting apon the pages as he read.

'For rules, Just keep the room clean and organized. I despise messes.' He chuckled softly, flicking hair from his face and itching the back of his head. Appendage lashing he lowered his head, reaching for a pencil and paper and beginning to write. Keeping his gaze locked on his actions he shook his head. 'Don't worry about it, If you need anything just ask me for it.'

"Yes, Rin's a nice name too. I think Ren fits you better, though." Mizuki laughed quietly, opening up her bag to rummage through it. Looking up, Mizuki watched him silently as he talked. "Okay, thank you. You're right though, I am at least a little bit smaller than you." She let another small laugh escape her maw, opening her bag. "Got it, I won't make a mess of anything, I promise." She said, going through her bag. Pulling out a shirt that was obviously a few sizes too big and a pair of shorts, Mizuki set the rest of her things down neatly beside the bed.

"I'm off to get changed, then. I didn't get much sleep on the flight out here, so I'm going to try and relax." She laughed softly, moving to hop down from where she at crisscrossed on the bed. When her pawlike feet hit the wooden floor, the nails on them made a soft sort of clicking sound, and Mizuki smiled at Ren. "What time do you usually get to bed?"

Mizuki was rather taken aback when Ren suddenly growled at her, but, seeing the hostility in his gaze, she decided not to say anything about it. She just watched in silence as he exited, flinching slightly when he shut the door rather loudly. "I wonder what that was about..." Mizuki sighed softly, not knowing how to feel about her new roommate. "I guess I'd better get to sleep then." She decided, reminded of how tired she was by a yawn that cut into her thoughts. Mizuki made her way into the small bathroom in their dorm room, making sure to lock the door behind her. From there, she took a very quick shower, one not lasting more than a few minutes, and began to change into her pajamas.

By the time Ren returned, Mizuki had already put away the clothes she had been wearing and was curled up beneath the blankets of her separate bed. She wasn't asleep, not yet, but since she was facing the wall, it might have looked like she was. But, of course, Mizuki wasn't asleep. She lay awake on her side, her blue eyes wide open. Lost in thought, the female's mind was running wild, making her think of many different things, making her uneasy about this new school, homesick for her family, and, most of all, making her think about her new roommate. Who was he? He was certainly an odd one. Mizuki figured she would find out more about him sooner or later, hopefully, she thought, sooner rather than later.

Mizuki heard the door open and then close a moment later, so she could pretty much assume that Ren had returned. She didn't move from where she was, hoping he would think her asleep. Of course, when he asked her if she was still awake, she knew she would have to do something. It would make her feel guilty if she just ignored him. Besides, why shouldn't she say anything? Ren hadn't done anything to truly cause her harm, or to upset her, and she didn't want to make him feel bad about something that he hadn't done.

"Yeah, I am." She said softly, turning over where she lay, so that she was facing him instead of the wall. "Hey... I'm sorry about earlier. I don't want to fight with my new roommate. So don't be upset, okay?" She asked, blue gaze wide and pleading. Of course, Mizuki did not want Ren to be angry with her, or upset in general. She didn't want to fight with someone she had just met, and if they were roommates, she didn't want to have to spend a lot of time with someone who she would be fighting with.
