August Event - Droughts and Fires!
A ravaging Sahel Drought disrupts migrations sweeping across Africa, claiming lives of humans, livestock and wildlife. With animals dying, many camps have been set to feed hippos and provide basic sources of water for most needing animals like elephants. Reports on rivers drying up are increasing by the day, as the wet seasons never arrive.

What will lions do? Will you rampage local farms and villages, or try to survive on scarce herds and starved corpses? Will you cause a conflict or succumb to plans of nature?

The drought event is supposed to be harsh. You will struggle to survive - your huntresses might experience some failures as well as your male might be struggling to battle if he's too thirsty.

This month, your decisions will affect the good and evil bars (as well as your karma!). If you guys are evil, opportunistic bastards, the evil bar will fill out first and unlock the Evil Shop - Destroyers. If you guys will decide to be good instead, the Good Shop will open - Preservers. The outcome will reset every time bars fill up so you can try again with different decisions, don't worry!

The rewards in the good/evil shops will be fully unlocked from start, the magic will be to gather the currency, which are Carrion Beetles and Bones, that you will find in Explore.
You might have noticed the two additional bars on the News page: Humans Killed & Dried Bones Collected.
Of course, they're also based on the evil and good incentive, but they'll progress continously thorough the event.

Humans KIlled bar unlocks special event-only studs, while Dried Bones Collected bar unlocks Peddler shop with extra features such as Tracking Herds and Vulture Chase.

You will also notice a THIRST bar. 100% thirst means you are extremely thirsty and you need to find source of water - found in explore or from items. Thirst drops by 5% every 30 minutes!
0% Thirst means you're good to go! What does Thirst affect? If you're too thirsty, you won't be able to fight with any NPC's!
So... will you eat humans? Will you protect animals? Good luck!

Remember that this event starts on August 1st 00:00 Lioden time, and will end on August 31st at 11:59PM Lioden Time. All unspent currency from each event is stored on your account until next year.

Recap:
- No wet seasons, explore images are extra dry.
- Hunting will fail more often, food will be scarce!
- Thirst drops by 5% every 30 minutes.
- Being cruel will give EVIL points to the EVIL bar, being kind will give GOOD points to the GOOD bar.
- You cannot battle NPCs if you are too thirsty! Try exploring for water sources instead. You can also try and buy herbs from Beetle Herb shop for a chance to get a water item!
- Carrion Beetles and Bones are this month's currency, for shops and Peddler respectively.
- Great Fires Encounter in Explore has many possible outcomes.

2016 Changes:
- Tsavo and Savage studs will switch around to a total of 6 unique studs - a poll from few weeks ago decided to mix them around and have a new mane for October instead. That means they will have rare markings, though :D
- Tons of new decors in the shops! This year we were very inspired by Lake Natron!
- Due to huge amount of stuff to buy from the shop we have lowered the price of backgrounds from 500 Carrion Beetles to 400 each.
